Lets Get This Party Started
Cruise to Shields -- I Acted Like a Jerk

Tom Cruise, Brooke ShieldsThat must've been awkward: Tom Cruise went to Brooke Shields' house on Thursday and apologized for slamming her use of antidepressants. Shields says that she thinks the apology was "heartfelt," but Cruise still maintains that antidepressants are evil.

On an appearance on the "Tonight Show" last night, Shields told Jay Leno that Cruise "came over to my house, and he gave me a heartfelt apology. And he apologized for bringing me into the whole thing and for everything that happened." Shields added that she was "impressed" with the "Mission: Impossible 3" star's sincerity, and that Cruise was able to restrain himself from proselytizing about the evils of psychoactive pharmaceuticals.

Not that Cruise has changed his mind: According to his rep, who confirmed the apology, Cruise "has not changed his position about antidepressants, which as evidenced by the black label warnings issued by the FDA on these types of drugs, are unhealthy."

Paris HiltonParis: "Hey Sister of Nicky, I Gave Him a Hickey"

Several witnesses at the MTV VMAs recount the interaction between Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Nicole's new guy, Brody Jenner, in a Radio City green room. As Nicole and Brody chilled, Paris swept in and, according to Page Six, "threw her arms around his neck and squealed, 'Hello.' She started whispering in his ear and kissing his neck -- and Nicole was getting really mad."

But Brody took it a little too far -- he actually turned his back on Nicole to chat with her nemesis, and that's when Richie grabbed Jenner and hightailed it out of the room.

Gwen StefaniGwen Makes Her Move On J-Lo

Rocker couple Gwen Stefani and husband Gavin Rossdale have purchased a Beverly Hills home for $15.5 million that once belonged to Jennifer Lopez. The 10,000 sq. ft. house is in a gated community off Mulholland Drive and, according to current owner Sam Nazarian, the current kingpin of LA nightlife, is "designed for a celebrity" ... whatever that means.

As the Wall Street Journal reports, Lopez sold the property to Nazarian two years ago for $12.5 million. The estate also has a tennis and basketball court, a swimming pool and screening room.

Rosie O'DonnellParty Favors: Rosie Complains of "360 Words" You Can't Say on TV, Swank Goes Public With New Man, Trump Jr. Loves Cast-Iron Skillet

Rosie O'Donnell has already blogged about meeting with standards and practices at ABC -- she's been warned about what she can and can't say. But, today, a Gatecrasher spy says that the gab queen was telling people at a Kanye West concert that the list of verboten words is now a little more than the seven that George Carlin made famous: "[Rosie] was complaining about the list of '360 words' she's not allowed to say on the air" ... Hilary Swank and her new-ish guy, agent John Campisi, have gone public with their romance, after being spotted in Rome's Piazza Navona. "They were hugging and touching all the time," says a witness for People ... The Donald's son, Don Jr., has a beautiful 1,500 sq. ft. apartment full of goodies, but who knew that a Trump could be so nostalgic? He tells the New York Post that one of his favorite worldly possessions is a cast-iron skillet his grandmother used to make family dinner. "It was a very special thing for me to have," says the 28-year-old real estate mogul-in-training.

16. I'd like to give Cruise the benefit of the doubt here... However, if all this stuff that happened with Paramount never happened, I don't think we'd be reading THIS particular story right now...

I WISH we could all REEEEALLY find out if Katie EVER used medicine during her delivery, or if she ever "uttered" a painful moan whie giving birth...?

17. Poor Tom is going to have to dig into his own pocket to finance his films, and now he wants public sympathy? The high-priestess, pompous, prima donna of Scientology needs to take a full-time position with the company because his movie career - once he starts losing his OWN millions at the box office - is DONE. Does anyone recall that ridiculous movie John Travolta made about Scientology - I don't either.

18. Tom should also apologize to his ex-girlfriend, seen her, for dumping her so rudely and giving her that fake Oscar. http://youtube.com/watch?v=eDGcQBBGlGc

19. Funny how he apologizes a year later when his popularity is at an all time low! Maybe little too late. That scientology nonsense has really ruined his image.

20. Tom Cruise is off his rocker, but quite frankly, too many folks are on drugs in America! The drug companies have bought our government a long time ago, and it's all about the benjamins! There is a new diagnosis every week with a new drug to mask it or "cure it" F**k the pharmaceutical industry, those bastards deserve to burn in hell! Livewire bets you there are probably cures for many ailments, but the pharmaceutical industry won't mass produce those because they lose the moolah! Out of the kindness of Livewire's huge heart, here is the Livewire plan to cure most cases of depression (not all cases, sometimes some wackos need the anti-depressents to balance the chemistry-

1. Eat healthy natural foods (Veggies, fruits, lean meat, whole grain): don't be a fat cow and overeat

2. Exercise- get off yer fat ass and workout- the best anti-depressent around (releases endorphins, a natural feel good hormone- also, you'll look for like J-Lo instead of Rosie O'Donnell)

3. Maintain a postive attitude; laugh! America, especially republicans, are too serious!

4. Rest! Get enough sleep!

5. Have plenty of sex! (If the ladies don't have a man, Livewire can be the plan)

There ya go! And remember, F**CK THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY, THE BASTARDS!

21. Harvey, get the story straight. He never said that he didnt believe in post partum depression, stop being such a hater. He apologized privately, and Brooke didn't have to say a word, and you would have never known about this apology. Brooke have learned to move on, I think it is about time you do. You tired of picking on Mel so you have to start on Tom again. You are a pathetic excuse of a reporter, and stop with the negativism. he has a right to say that he doesn't believe in anti-depressants, he is not alone in that belief. Brooke has shown to be a class act, now why dont you show that you have some class also. She felt his apology was heartfelt, and he did it privately, not publicly. You are just mad, because there is no longer a feud so who are going to pick on next. It was done privately, so there is nothing fake at all about it. Brooke chose to make it public, and I think she is one class act, I also think Tom is too. He is a good man, stop the hate people.

22. I don't believe Tom Cruise for a minute. If we look back at his rantings over the last 18 months or so, he appears to be at his craziest when he was promoting movies--manic, drunk with power, perhaps? Consumed with a sense of his own importance? Well, now that M I 3 has underperformed, he has gotten fired by Paramount, and he has nothing to promote, perhaps his mood is more contrite. I think the minute he has any kind of upswing, personal or professional, he will be back to being the terrifying person he was on Oprah's couch.

23. Hippo is right, Tom Cruise is a scary person.

25. Brooke is a hero to many people. Millions of women have felt alone from PPD and Brooke let them know that they are not alone! I think it took GUTS for Brooke SHields to admit she had a problem. This is not easy for a public person let alone Joanne-Public. I know she must have saved lives.

27. YES, NOW HE IS SORRY, PROBABLY LIKE THE DIXIE DUCKS DON'T MEAN IT. THEY GET CAUGHT AND IN TROUBLE, THEN THE BOO HOO'S COME OUT. WELL HE SHOULD HAVE DONE IT BEFORE PARAMOUNT LET HIM GO THE ARROGANT JERK.

Posted at 1:16PM on Sep 2nd 2006 by NOW HE IS SORRY

28. IT'S A LITTLE A LITTLE A LITTLE TO LATE. THIS HAPPEN A LONG TIME AGO, IT IS NOW THAT HE HAS BEEN SHAFTED SOME, THAT HE APOLOGIZES. HE SHOULD HAVE DONE IT AGES AGO. THIS IS A FOUL AND A CROCK APOLOGY. WHAT'S IT BEEN OVER A YEAR AND TWO BABIES, HIS AND BROOKS, THAT IS WELL OVER 18 MONTHS, TOO LATE BROTHER! HEARTFELT IT AIN'T. TELL IT TO SOMEONE WHO CARES!

29. It is is job to make us believe, this is as phoney as a 3 dollar bill, or he would have done it a lot sooner. Bravo and the Oscar goes to Tom C. for making Brooke forgive him when he still feels the same way, only he wants to keep his grand master status, that is all. PHONEY BOLOGNY!!

30. You are forgetting one thing, Tom didn't announce this apology publicly, Brooke did. If he was doing it for his career he would have apologized publicly. If Brooke would have never said anything about it, you and the rest of the world would have never known about it. I think it was really classy of her, and I think it was her way of telling the rest of the world to move on. As for him standing outside ringing the doorbell, he called her first, duh. I think what he did was a good thing, no matter when it came to surface. She has accepted his apology, and I am glad. He didn't deserve all the things that have been said about him, and I am a huge fan of his. Paramount didn't renew Tom's contract for one reason, and that is money. Mr. Redstone even made the comment himself that he is putting out a message to the high paid stars that the studios will no longer make huge payouts. This had nothing to do with is personal life, and everything to do with Mr. Redstones pocketbook.
