Anna Nicole Found Son Dead in Her Hospital Room

Anna Nicole Smith and late son Daniel in 2004.TMZ has gathered further details in the tragic death of Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel in the Bahamas yesterday morning. According to police, Smith herself found Daniel in her hospital room yesterday around 9:00 am, thinking that he was asleep. She then tried to wake him up and, after he didn't respond, immediately called for help. At that point, doctors and staff were not able to revive 20-year-old Daniel. Anna Nicole had just given birth three days earlier in the same hospital to a baby daughter.

The police continue to maintain that there were no signs of visible injury on the body, and that there were no signs of violence in the room. Police add that they haven't deemed the death a homicide, and do not suspect foul play.

Sources cited by the local newspaper Nassau Guardian have suggested that the cause of death was a "massive heart attack," but neither doctors nor the local coroner has confirmed this. And the Guardian adds that Daniel Smith arrived in Nassau on Saturday, after his mother had given birth.

31. Suann, why don't you ask him. Sounds more like you're being condemning at a time when no one needs to hear it. What you say is pointless. Who the hell knows and who cares, the point is a tragedy occurred and your prayers should be with the people it affects when that happens.

34. This is so sad. To have the joy of the birth of one child shattered by the death of another. I hope Anna has people around her that love her are care. She will need all the support she can get at this time.

38. Okay, I'll try and post this again. My deepest sympathy for Anna. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your child. There r no words to express the loss of a child. What should of been a rejoicing moment has turned into a nightmare for you Anna and I am so sorry for your loss. I hope and pray that in spite of your loss that you will still feel blessed with joy of your new baby.

40. This is dreadful news when a mother loses her son as Anna Nicole Smith just has.

I lost a first cousin, age 34, who, like ANC's Daniel, died under similiar circumstances, in bed. The claim was cardiac arrest, but no definite cause for it could be found. A non-smoker, non-drug-user, besides.

43. everybody i know whose read about this has expressed shock. even though his mama was crazy on the show and everywhere else he was shown he always seemed like a good boy. at least he died peacefully and apparently without pain...
