Lets Get This Party Started
Croc Hunter Gets No Tears From PETA

Steve Irwin mugs for the cameras.Fans the world over have been mourning the tragic death of Steve Irwin, but not, evidently, the animal lovers at PETA.

This morning, the animal lovers group's Dan Mathews says that it's "no shock at all" that Irwin died the way he did, and he's also branded Irwin a "cheap reality TV star."

Irwin died last week after being impaled by a stingray while filming a TV documentary, and was buried Saturday in a private ceremony on Saturday at the Australia Zoo, the animal park where he and his family tended lovingly to hundreds of creatures. But despite his reputation as a naturalist and conservationist, the Crocodile Hunter's on-screen antics clearly irked the animal lovers at PETA, according to MSNBC's Jeannette Walls.

"He made a career out of antagonizing frightened wild animals," says PETA's Mathews, "which is a very dangerous message to send to kids." And Mathews sniffs that Irwin's career wasn't particularly impressive – at least not to him: "If you compare him with a responsible conservationist like Jacques Cousteau, he looks like a cheap reality TV star."

Paris Pulls a Lohan on "Bottoms"

The Hollywood nightlife continues to take its toll on starlets and their punctuality. Simona Fusco, one of the co-star's of Paris Hilton's latest film, the straight-to-DVD "Bottoms Up," which arrives tomorrow, tells Page Six that Paris was "always late on the set... By the time Paris finally showed up, she was usually coming from a party ... Not only does she show up late, but on top of it she didn't have her lines ready to go." But what of Paris' actual acting chops, Simona? "I don't think there's any talent there."

"Apprentice" Sideshow: George Slams Carolyn

George Ross, the man who sits to the right in the boardroom on "The Apprentice," has no sympathy for Carolyn Kepcher, who used to be on Trump's left, and who recently got the axe from Trump himself. "Do I think her becoming a major national star went to her head? Was she affected by it? Yes," said Ross recently on "Good Morning America."

Meanwhile, as Lloyd Grove points out this morning, the 78-year-old Ross has been out hyping his own book called "Trump-Style Negotiation," and has been leaving the office to do paid speaking engagements. But a Ross assistant insists that George has his eye on the Trump-serving ball, and that he's "an ace at what he does."

Kepcher, for her part, reacted to Ross' comments this way on MSBNC: "I'm shocked. I find it very ironic, to say the least. But again, good for George."

Fergie's Battle With Meth

Calling crystal meth "the hardest boyfriend I ever had to break up with," the Black Eyed Peas' female singer Fergie (real name Stacey Ferguson) details her drug struggles in an interview with Time. "It's the drug that's addicting. But it's why you start doing it in the first place that's interesting," says Fergie, who's recent solo efforts have climbed up the charts. "A lot of it was being a child actor: I learned to suppress feelings." Fergie adds that she has talked to the other famous Fergie – the Duchess of York – about doing "some charity work together."

Party Favors: Kristin Cavallari Sips Fem-Bot Fatale! ... Joaquin Phoenix and Eva Mendes Spotted Canoodling! ... "The Covenant" Wins Tepid Weekend B.O.

Kristin Cavallari, who's been quite happily photographed at just about every Fashion Week event she can scamper into, shrieked when a lensman caught her downing something called a "Svedka Fem-Bot Fatale" at an after-party. "You can't take a picture of me drinking!" protested the 19-year-old Kristin, according to Rush & Molloy. Of course, it didn't stop her from indulging ... Joaquin Phoenix and Eva Mendes were at it furiously at a Wyclef Jean party in New York Thursday night. Though reps have denied the pair are an item, an R&M spy saw the couple "holding hands under the table and kissing all night long." ... Renny Harlin's supernatural thriller "The Covenant" took the top spot at the weekend box office with a relatively light $9 million take, with the Ben Affleck noir "Hollywoodland" coming in second, with $6 million.

166. Forget about how "rude" Peta is and think of the enormous suffering of animals that they bring to our attention. It's not about manners, it's about working towards ending the suffering of animals. If you care about animals then support Peta. They are about the only ones that show us through their many investigations what is really going on behind the scenes.

167. So there shedding a tear for someone who harrassed innocent animals? Someone who raided dens, separated parents from their children? This, and other so called conservationists send a dangerous message to kids that it's o.k. to exploit innocent life, whether human or non-human. These people are analogous to t.v. wrestlers.

168. Peta will never ever recieve one red cent from me, ever and I will tell anyone that is even thinking of supporting them how ignorant they really are, right back at yah PETA.

169. Mark you full of sh*t peta is nothing more then a bunch of tree hugging p***ies, who do more harm then good for animals. The croc man gave his life and money for animals and made people love animals. I suppose having a std carrying ex-porn whore as a spokes model is a good thing.

People like you are so full of sh*t they talk the talk but don't do anything but sit back and bitch and moan...peta is for p***ies..

170. Dan Matthews was a guest on Tucker Carlson this afternoon...what an ass. He actually went as far as saying "I'm glad he died." Fair warning, Matthews...Karma's a bitch.

171. I've stuck by PETA through thick and thin but no one not even PETA trashes Steve Irwin.

I'll love and support animals forever, just not through PETA. They should have gone after Jennifer Lopez or Beyonce Knowels but how ignorant to say anything ill about Steve Irwin.

172. PETA has always been full of elitist a**holes who don't practice what they preach.

173. PETA has just gone TOO far. Steve Irwin was such a good man. He never harrassed animals. He simply tried to teach people that even feared, poisonous animals shouldn't be hated and that all animals should be loved. He got close to wild animals to show how to handle them and to explain each animal's traits. He wasn't terrorizing animals. It's not like he was burning ants with a magnifying glass. He inspired many children with his bravery and fun attitude. He even had his own zoo that was comfortable for the people and animals. And you know what? Right now his children and wife are grieving, the animals might be grieving too! All PETA can do is whine about how they were happy that Seve died? That is ridiculous, animals are important, but never dishonor the dead, expecially if it was so soon after they died! If Steve were still alive, these lies about him wouldn't have bothered him. He knew that he was kind to animals. He loved animals! And his memory doesn't deserve this contraversy.
Well, that is just what I have to say about this matter.

174. peta's "defense" of their comments was so lame. i e-mailed them and told them they're cruel and heartless to say this when his family's grieving. they said they're sad he's gone(riiiight) and that they've always spoken out about how he mistreats animals(again, riiight). they went on with some of thier propoganda and ended it with a link to an article on their site....where they blast not only steve but also jack hnna and others. peta's good at "talking the talk" but, steve irwin "walked the walk.". he was a good man and a good conservationist and i'll miss him. i think he's chasing down crocs in heaven.

175. JUST A NOTE: I don't even know what the heck PETA is, and i definatly know who the croc. hunter is. So really these PETA guys have no right what-so-ever to say that Steve Irwin was a "cheap reality TV star." because they are not even known. LOSERS.

anyways, even if they were known they are a bunch of bull because as everyone else has commented and as everyone knows that Steve Irwin was a wonderful man who loved animals, his family, and life very much. I'm not one to talk about how great he is because i didn't know him personaly or anything, but i have read about him, and i have watched his show before and all I see is a wonderful man.

I am truly sorry for his family's loss and i wish them all the best.
RIP steave.

176. You PETA members need a lesson in manners.

First off, Steve Irwin was one of the greatest animal rights activists that the world will ever see.
Secondly there is no way, no how in PETA's many manyu years of saving animals that they have saved even a quarter of what STeve has in his short life.
Third. FOr all of you who are speaking ill of the dead. May God help you when you die. I hope npbody badmouths you to your family. Your a sad sad group and you only think about getting celebrities to do what you want, and show off your name everywhere but where is the proff that you have raised even a dime?
I hope the PETA group gets shut down.
PETA SUCKS and is JEALOUS of STEVE IRWIN,

That's it in a nutshell....
