Celebrity Feuds
Dixie Chicks To Bush: "You're a Dumb F**k"

It's been more than three years since the Dixie Chicks sparked a media firestorm by announcing they were "ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas." Now, the embattled country stars are reigniting the blaze with a highly controversial documentary featuring lead singer Natalie Maines calling President Bush a "dumb f---."

According to Entertainment Weekly, one memorable scene from "Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing" shows the singers watching a news report on President Bush's reaction to their infamous on-stage comment. In the report, Bush says ''the Dixie Chicks are free to speak their mind,'' adding, ''they shouldn't have their feelings hurt just because some people don't want to buy their records when they speak out. You know, freedom is a two-way street.'' After watching this footage, Maines then repeats the president's comment and says, ''What a dumb f---.'' She then looks into the camera, as if addressing Bush himself, and reiterates, ''You're a dumb f---.''

The documentary, directed by two-time Academy Award-winning Barbara Kopple, travels with the Chicks, from their peak of popularity as the national anthem-singing darlings of country music and top-selling female recording artists of all time, through the now infamous anti-Bush comment, and on through the days, months and years of mayhem. The film is set to premiere tonight at the Toronto International Film Festival, where for some odd reason (possibly that our neighbors to the north aren't exactly fans of our nation's leader), it's expected to be a huge hit.

2972. Come and get it! Woo!
We got some fresh fills for your fat chicken-ass to snack on, bitch!
So here, start with a slice of this fresh piggy pie, motherf***er!

Walked in the village, and to the piggy's place
He opened up his door, and popped me in the face
And blew me off the porch, and cracked my head in half
But I'm a Juggalo, so it only made me laugh (hehe)

Forty in hand, I rose from the dead
And threw with all my might, I made a ping noise off his head
Since we out west, I had a little fun
And pulled his f***in tongue out the back of his cranium

Three little piggies, to make a piggy pie
There's nothing like the sound when you hear a piggy die
I might use a gun (no), I might use an ax (yes)
The carnival's in town, come and get your piggy snacks!

2973. Rick....homegirl and I disagree on many things (and agree on some issues), and I don't presume to speak for her, but only for myself. You are so falling into the (most-often-unfair) stereotype that liberals have of conservatives. (You and others like you are probably part of the reason that I have been ridiculously labeled a "redneck" by some on this blog.) You have every right to be here and say what you want, but your arguments are totally lost in a cesspool of invectives and abusive language....just as those on the other side have. She has her opinions, and the fact that she does not follow your narrow requirements is no reason to attempt to obliterate her. If you had bothered to go back and read ALL of her postings, you would see that she has varied opinions....she doesn't necessarily "walk the line" with regard to political parties or ideology. Is that a crime? Does that make all her opinions invalid? NO! Since when is it a crime to vote the candidate instead of the party? I HAVE NEVER PULLED THE STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN TICKET LEVER IN ANY ELECTION IN MY LIFE! Does that mean I am not a "good" Republican or a good conservative? NO!!! Does that negate the fact that I vote Republican 99% of the time? NO!! Does that remove my right to speak for conservative issues and conservative candidates? NO!!

Why don't you try for once to state your views and leave the trash-talk in the locker room......

2976. "Willy Bubba Billy Clinton"

Ok class, um, please settle down now,
I'd like to introduce our new student
uhh, uhh Willy Bubba, Willy is from Arkansas welcome Willy, uh,
I'll be your teacher, my name is Ms. Felby

Well I flopped out of school but I still hang in the halls
So there I was, you'll never guess what I saw
Maybe a chicken, I thought it was a duck
But it was a redneck f***, so I walked up
"Hey Willy Bubba, hubba-bubba-lubba
My names Sachs, but my homies call me chicken plucker
I been down with the clown since day one, it's day two
I guess I got some plucking to do
In these parts, we tie you to the desk
And all line up and take blows to your chest (punch)
Fists to your chin (punch), kicks to your head (punch)
Last year we killed a kid dead (HAHHH!! oh, my fault...)
Walked in the school, there's hay in the hallway
Leading to your locker, walk up 'n sock ya
Then bounce your head around the class room and act nutty
The teacher walks, and asked everybody (body, body..)

Who kicked Willy Bubba's ass? (I DID!)
Did you do it right here in the class? (SHO' DID!)
Did you punch him in the face, did you slap him in the mouth
Did you kick him in the forehead (YUP, YUP!)

2977. Sure they are free to express their opinions. Why are they free to do so? Due to our Veterans and soldiers. So these classless ignorant little female dogs can express themselves all they want... Of course most Country radio stations won't play their music anymore, which they are free to do!

2978. homegirl101 and Rick both have a right to be here and speak
their minds. I would hope that we could ALL do it in a more civil manner,
please. Both of you? You too LIVEWIRE, come on now. This is getting
ridiculous, I can disagree with homegirl101 and still we show respect
for eachother. LIVEWIRE and Rick are the ones who prepetuate the stereotypes
for each side and make these types of discussions difficult to engage in.

LIVEWIRE - your comment about our President looking humbled and deomoralized...you have the same opinion as the terrorist's statement we heard yesterday.

2979. Greetings...Pearl and I just returned from the annual Veterans Day Service. We live in a 55+ community, Sun City, CA, and the local VFW & American Legion sponsor the annual Service. This year the emphasis was on MIA's, ex-POW's and the present men & women in Harm's Way.

Three years ago the ampitheater held over 300 people. Last year, indoors, the auditorium (300 seats) had about 200 people. This year, sadly, only about 100

Sun City is an Association City of over 3500 people.

It was a well planned service, but poorly executed. 70+ year old men, trying to present a good program. None seemed used to speaking in public except the Chaplain. The featured speaker was a WWII POW in Germany. He spoke of his air crew and their bravery. His days in the camps supported only by his faith in God and his Country. (he read it but it still stirred us to hear it).

Miss-cues, a very old vet playing an organ, and not very accurately. A Choir of about 20 very old men & women singing several keys at a time. HOWEVER....

The sincereity, the loyalty and faithfulness to country, the pure Americanism, the love and devotion of men & women from WW II to Korea to Vietnam was like an explosian in that room. It brought tears to my eyes, and many more beside. Men & Women who gave and gave to their country and to us all, so we might have all the freedoms our Constituion guarantees us...singing God Bless America (and who cares in what key they sang as it was from their hearts.) and standing and saluting when their branch of service was played on that old organ (who cares how off the organ sounded).
He had tears in his eyes, so maybe he didn't see the music that clearly.

I am so glad we went. I'm so glad we are well and able to celebrate our Veterans in whatever way we choose. We could have gone to the Riverside National Cemetary,
now the second largest in the US, with about 5000 other people, but we liked our little community of veterans better. What a day. I hope all who read this are celebrating the sacrifices of those who fought, died or were wounded, and those who haven't yet come home. God bless America and each of you too. Benton

2980. Please! Nobody wants to hear celebrities political opinions!! ... I will never buy another cd of theirs and have thrown out the ones I did have! ... I dont care what you think! Unless you have something positive to say, or ways to help people then dont talk! ...do your job and shut up! but at this point dixie chicks wont be around much longer, they have offended way too many people to make any sort of profit!... Take it as a lesson learned celbrities! Helloooooooooooo Tom Crusie, Natalie Portman and other celebs who think b/c they are in the spotlight they can announce their unwanted and idiotic advice! Nobody wants it! Gooooooo President Bush!!!!!!!!!

2981. To all veterans....thank you for your service and your sacrifices. Those of us "who wait..." at home appreciate you more than you'll ever know.

2982.
Personally, as a conservative dem I am not in favor of bush nor the decisions made by his administration but in the same token I don't endorse the views or the verbage (profanity) of this woman. True, Bush is not the most intelligent guy, but her conduct descends beneath his in my opnion. I like Dixie Chicks music but its difficult to hear over her outrageous comments. I feel for her band mates that have worked so hard to reach their current level of success for her to simply throw it away with both hands. She "is an embarrassment to the U.S." Just because a view is popular doesn't mean you should cater to the lowest common denominator of the country. She should have more respect if not for the presidency of the US but for her country, her group, and more importantly for herself.

2983. Robert....sure you can! And you can take the consequences if many of your fans don't like what you said....

Frankly...their "poor me" whining is getting a little stale.

2984. Why does anyone bother asking the short, fat one's opinion? Her sisters are the only reason she's famous.

2985. Shuman..that is maddening...I wonder what would happen if an entire community ...fought that....and raised some grief...it seems like that would be ...against our rights as Americans...it makes me sick...and I wonder if it's even legal..to get away with that...I know I would raise holy hell...if that happened to me....
