Dixie Chicks To Bush: "You're a Dumb F**k"

It's been more than three years since the Dixie Chicks sparked a media firestorm by announcing they were "ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas." Now, the embattled country stars are reigniting the blaze with a highly controversial documentary featuring lead singer Natalie Maines calling President Bush a "dumb f---."

According to Entertainment Weekly, one memorable scene from "Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing" shows the singers watching a news report on President Bush's reaction to their infamous on-stage comment. In the report, Bush says ''the Dixie Chicks are free to speak their mind,'' adding, ''they shouldn't have their feelings hurt just because some people don't want to buy their records when they speak out. You know, freedom is a two-way street.'' After watching this footage, Maines then repeats the president's comment and says, ''What a dumb f---.'' She then looks into the camera, as if addressing Bush himself, and reiterates, ''You're a dumb f---.''

The documentary, directed by two-time Academy Award-winning Barbara Kopple, travels with the Chicks, from their peak of popularity as the national anthem-singing darlings of country music and top-selling female recording artists of all time, through the now infamous anti-Bush comment, and on through the days, months and years of mayhem. The film is set to premiere tonight at the Toronto International Film Festival, where for some odd reason (possibly that our neighbors to the north aren't exactly fans of our nation's leader), it's expected to be a huge hit.

77. Stupid Bitches!!! Hope someone takes them out. Then they wonder why they suck and no one is going to their concerts or buying their albums. They all look like trannys. If they are so unhappy with GW then they should leave the country and go to Canada where it appears they are liked. Urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

79. GO Dixie Chicks! Why is everyone so offended when Bush really IS dumb?? And as for the person who posted comment #1, I'd suggest you learn the difference between Woman (singular) and Women (plural) before having the nerve to call anyone else dumb, it's embarrasing to see you criticize another person when you write like you flunked 1st grade...

81. You people that disagree with what she had to say are obvioulsy upset because she speaks the truth....keep at it girl. It's just too bad that so-called patriots are sp willing to turn a blind eye to the fear-mongering, puppet that Bush is...there's a reason us Canadians dislike Bush.....we know how to think for ourselves and don't buy into the propaganda spewed by the government controlled media...If you want to be a patriot, how about standing up for what's right for a change and don't allow your children to be sent off to be killed for oil.

82. It seems to me that the Liberals feel they are the only ones allowed to exercise their right to free speech. Chicks with Dicks SUCK!

84. I wonder what the Dixie chicks are doing to make a positive, constructive change with the power they have. All celebrities have an opportunity to really impact people's thoughts and hearts. Chicks I wonder if you know how blessed you are that you may change the world. History shows us that peace wins over all - look at Ghandi. Why are you waging war with your tongue against war?

85. Why is everyone bitching? She only said what everyone is thinking! He is a dumbfuck! If the population would read anything other than the news that is 'spoonfed' to us in US media outlets, they would know what a dumbfuck he really is. You have to ask yourself why our President is the punchline of so many jokes overseas. Stupidity breeds this sort of humor and he desrves what he gets.

86. "WE ARE NOT AT WAR. It takes an act of CONGRESS to declare war. They never did it. We are at OCCUPATION. We are occupying a nation that Bush HIMSELF said had nothing to do with 9-11. Just this week Congress issued a report that said Saddam Hussein hated Osama and Al Queda as MUCH as we did. They were not in cahoots on 9-11. Bush is lying to you and trying to strip you of your rights so he and Cheney can continue to make money off this illegal occupation. Bush IS a dumbf*** and if you don't get it, well, that makes you...uh.....just like him."

I am sorry Lucy, but when those planes hit the World Trade Center we were in a de facto state of war. Bush said "if you are not with us then you are against us" When you are in a de facto state the President does not need the Congress's approval to go to war, that is the power of the President. Suddam may have hated Osama but he did support terrorism. He paid people to blow themselves up in tourism areas. So get your facts straight. I dont mind people speaking there opinions but please know the facts then state your opinions.

87. When will people like The Dixie Chicks and Ann Coulter (yep, I used them in the same sentence) realize that name calling only makes them look petty and childish. I happen to agree that Bush is wrong, but the Dixie Chicks are not helping their cause. The may get a lot of "Hell Yeah"'s from those who agree with them already, but they aren't changing anyone's mind. Anyone with a good point to make should be able to make it without name-calling and foul language. When they can do that consistently, I will listen to what they have to say.

88. I might not state is so succinctly- but I think it is a mark of bravery that the Chicks put themselves out there so much... especially after the wackadoo response from 3 years ago... Natalie may lack a little polish in her delivery, but you can't really fault her because Bush et al have lied and manipulated themselves through their entire administration. Do you ever wonder what our country would be like if we spent even part of these HUNDREDS of BILLIONS of dollars of Iraq war, at home? Why can't everyone have affordable healthcare again? And why can't anyone who wants a loan for university have access? I support my big mouth girls with the guts to speak their minds in this hostile "Democracy" of the majority!

89. Hey Dixie Chicks, go to Iraq and show the world how to stop terriorism!!!
Maybe you'll think twice when someone you love is blown up by terroirists.
Stop calling names and give some good advise on how to run this country.

90. Real cleaver insults from the typical liberal.... always calling the other side "dumb" or "stupid"... don't forget Bush had a higher GPA than Kerry. Who... by the way refused to release his school records until after he lost the election.
