Rosie is the Next Big Thing -- Again!

Everyone, myself included, has been doubting Barbara Walter's brainstorm to hire Rosie O'Donnell to replace Star and/or Meredith on "The View." The arguments against Rosie -- not a team player, difficult to get along with, difficult to get along with, difficult to get along with.

Well doubters be damned -- Rosie seems to be connecting with the audience. The ratings for "The View" are up -- pretty significantly. Rosie has moved to Meredith's chair, which sorta makes her the leader of the pack. And my spies tells me that at least on stage, things are pretty copasetic.

There have been rumblings that Elizabeth doesn't get along with Rosie; that Joy is getting tired of playing second fiddle; that Rosie thinks the production of the show is bush league at times. There may be a little truth in some of this, but it wouldn't be the first time a show succeeded in spite of difficult stars; indeed, Exhibit A is Rosie's wildly successful talk show.

The fact is, Rosie is blending better than I ever expected. Besides, nothing succeeds like success. If the rating continue to climb, I doubt the other gals would try and sabotage her -- Rosie could end up being their annuity.

In my mind, the real test will be the relationship between Rosie and Barbara. These are both very strong, controlling individuals with strong points of view. Neither of them are known for compromise. Yet it's inevitable -- if "The View" is to survive with Rosie, compromise on both sides is essential. On that, the jury is out.

16. I think it's now the Rosie show, with permanent guest stars. What happened to the views? It's Rosie's viewpoint with Barbara hugging her every two minutes, Joy trying to get a laugh but being cut off by Rosie, and the other one sitting with her hands in her lap while spewing steam out of her ears.
How many times is Rosie going to talk louder than Joy to get her point across?
Everbody knows that Rosie is gay, aren't there more important topics to discuss?
I think the commenter who wrote about the ratings is correct: we tuned in to check it out, but now that we've seen the show, we'll be tuning in elsewhere.

17. Rosie is an attention hog! she is constantly talking as if the show is hers and not Barbara's. no one can get a word in edgewise with her around. don't get me wrong, i actually like her for some odd reason but it's pissing me off that she hogs the whole show. she herself said it would be hard not to be the boss. well, that's exactly what she's acting like - she's the boss. she doesn't even let Barbara talk!

18. Is it really Barbara's show ?? Rosie was put on the show for political reasons.
This will be more apparent as time goes on. Did Barbara Streisand make Barbara Walters "an offer she couldn't refuse " ? The saga continues---.

19. Rosie is big and fat. She looks like Jackie Gleason. Poor Jackie. Can you imagine that poor thing that lives with her allowing Rosie to put on a strap on and get on top of her. Perish the thought. That girlfriend needs air, help her. Rosie is a bigot plus she's fat. Those arteries are clogging up as we speak. Where's the fur?

20. I watched today and find that what I thought would happen did with Rosie O" Donnell being the newest addition! She needs to shut her Loud Mouth and BREATHE....So others can VIEW their just as important Views on subjects not necessarily being GAY!

21. Rosie has brought life to a show that was lifeless and stale. I ought to know I used to work for the show. It's called "The View" for a reason and now the name will match the show.

22. Rosie go home and wash your mouth with soap then have it wired shut. You disgust so many of us and sorry you came back to TV. Do we respect Oprah or what!!!!

23. Rosie talks way too much. She doesn't even give anyone else a chance to talk, including the guests, whom we want to hear about. I agree, its now the Rosie show. When Boogie from Big Brother was on the show today, she run him into the ground. She was so rude toward him. The poor guy earned the title. I know, I watched every show.

24. The whole show has gone to Hell in a haybasket!!!...Noone can get a word in edgewise...The other day, they had dogs on the show and I'll be darned if she didn't crawl under a table to get one of the dogs showing her broad arse to the world!!...Not that I am skinny or anything, but still!!...If I were Barbara I would just reach over and cold cock her!!...She has to be the center of attention and her God awful looking wardrobe...Of course, like my Mom and I said, "You just can't make some people look good."....Oh well, they have thoroughly screwed it up for good this time....We have watched it just to see what crap she will pull next!!.....(((Gag)))

25. I have to agree with Shelley about Rosie. I did like her on her own show but she can be a little much. There does not seem to be any other opinion but hers. I think she is overbearing and loud for this show. It has only been a week and I have not heard much from Joy or Barbara. Elizabeth is trying her best to keep up with Rosie but she too is getting drowned out. I always thought the show geared more towards the up -to-date women, ones who cared more about the world then what was going on in their own lives. It was more serious and I liked that. It was different from all the other talk shows. Since Rosie has arrived I feel the standards of the show have fallen. Someone tries to do an interview and Rosie is always cracking jokes. At least Joy knew when it was appropriate to joke and when not to. I am willing to give the show some more time to get past the "Honeymoon" stage and get down to business. If that doesn't happen THE VIEW will lose a viewer.

26. The View has finally gotten interesting!
Barbara, get rid of Elisabeth!
Everything that comes out of her mouth is stupid!
Rosie...Way To Go! You've added life to a once tired show!

27. I think Rosie will try to take over the show, I also think she feels like she is the man of the show and she has to put up with all those dumb women, she will not last more than three months if that long

28. I like Rosie, she is fun and brings a lot of life to the show. However I do think she is overbearing on the show. Talking over everyone. Everyone else seems to just sit there and try to jump in. I think the show will work itself out and be great. Rosie just needs to learn tone it down just a bit and give her co-hosts a turn. I do agree about E, she just seems so angry all the time, with very conservative ideas, and gives no one elses VIEW any consideration.

29. Rosie O'Donnell is a fat lesbo first of all....second on her show yesterday she said that radical islam is "just as dangerous" as radical christianity! HA this fat bitch needs to get the facts straight! I hope that she will be kicked off the show ASAP.

30. I don't watch the show anymore and haven't for years. But all I ever hear is whining about the fact that Barbara has chosen to have a conservative viewpoint on the View and this disgusts everyone because this young woman has a strong view that is disagreeable to the liberal hogwash the others try to pass off as intelligent discussion. How exciting it would be for the libs to have this chat fest spewed out every morning for the mush minded home bodies that get their world view from a whole group of spoiled whiny babies...Seems like that would make you all happy.
