Rosie is the Next Big Thing -- Again!

Everyone, myself included, has been doubting Barbara Walter's brainstorm to hire Rosie O'Donnell to replace Star and/or Meredith on "The View." The arguments against Rosie -- not a team player, difficult to get along with, difficult to get along with, difficult to get along with.

Well doubters be damned -- Rosie seems to be connecting with the audience. The ratings for "The View" are up -- pretty significantly. Rosie has moved to Meredith's chair, which sorta makes her the leader of the pack. And my spies tells me that at least on stage, things are pretty copasetic.

There have been rumblings that Elizabeth doesn't get along with Rosie; that Joy is getting tired of playing second fiddle; that Rosie thinks the production of the show is bush league at times. There may be a little truth in some of this, but it wouldn't be the first time a show succeeded in spite of difficult stars; indeed, Exhibit A is Rosie's wildly successful talk show.

The fact is, Rosie is blending better than I ever expected. Besides, nothing succeeds like success. If the rating continue to climb, I doubt the other gals would try and sabotage her -- Rosie could end up being their annuity.

In my mind, the real test will be the relationship between Rosie and Barbara. These are both very strong, controlling individuals with strong points of view. Neither of them are known for compromise. Yet it's inevitable -- if "The View" is to survive with Rosie, compromise on both sides is essential. On that, the jury is out.

61. ROSIE O'DOUGHNUTS ???? I THINK SHE'S JUST A LOUDMOUTH

62. Rosie's comments liking radical Islam to radical Christianity have gone too far. She looks down her nose at Elizabeth, with a little smirk of "I'm so much more intelligent about these things" attitude. Come on. What woman is going to want to watch a bunch of women that don't like each other. I am fine with a les on the show, but her brash opinionated in-your-face presence, esp towards republican Christians, is nothing but offensive.

63. Rosie being BIG!! Who's objecting to that?? Could we maybe say HEAVY?

64. The View should get rid of Barbara Walters, she sits there like a stick. She looks bored with the whole show. Or maybe the botox has her face frozen. It's turning into the Rosie Show and if that's the case they really don't need the other three. The reason the ratings are up is because people always want to see what is new but that usually doesn't last. They need a lot more than Rosie to save the View.

65. Rosie brgan the show, as if she was the head honco, Barbara should wbe in that chair that was Meredith. I think that they shoul have a new guess every week seating in for someone(Rosie) like they did before. Once they had that young girl long black hair I think, Chineese?, she was so gooooooood.. Use ANYONE a week at a time. Isn" that how they found Elixabeth? Are she is such an ACCESS TO THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!we need some like her.

As far as Rosie being gay, that's her choose, but keep it to herself.

When Ellen DeGenenes, was on the air, she din't discuss anything about, her private life, and there's nothing wrong with how they live but someone needs to tell Rosie that the show (VIEW) is not all HER'S LIKE SHE THINKS & ACTS

66. It's always surprising to me, when a person is able to maintain their passion for what they believe and why they believe it, express it eloquently, and yet be attacked for it. Yes, Ro can be impatient at times, and seems to be chomping at the bit for her turn to come before she speaks. But she is a very passionate person who puts her money and her actions out there for good causes every single day. How many of us are that passionate in our own lives? Most of us are Monday-Morning Quarterbackers, offering our worthless opinions after the fact, and are never willing to do anything that costs us our time or our money, to help illustrate our point. I say three cheers for Rosie, and for higher ratings for the View. The Ratings are up because people like me tune in to be inspired by her passion. I feel challenged each day I watch her to be a better person, and to get involved with whatever it is I feel passionate about. Thanks Rosie!

67. The show is 100% better without that phoney Star trying to look like she really cares about anyone else except herself and her boring tirades about her wedding etc.
Rosie seems to betrying to hog the entire hour with her nonstop comments. Is this supposed to be Barbara's show or what????Why does Barbara put up with this? Rosie won't last long at this rate, Barbara should and will get rid of her, Barbara is controlling enough to not keep her for long....

69. I think Rosie talks about real things and has feeling like all of us..I like the fact that she is Real... deal with it... and her being gay and open doesnt hurt

70. Rosie's attitude is as big as her physical appearance. The View has turned into the THE NEW GAY ROSIE VIEW. She is SO out of her league, unless one is a redneck lesbian, if that is a category. She needs to tone down, get a diction coach and just simply 'shut up' for a minute. I am so tired a people pretending that they like Rosie because she is 'down to earth, entertaining, funny......'
She is an ingorant has been. She should move on and sail away on one of her cruises. I cannot stand her caustic, moronic, unlikeable personality. I used to love THE VIEW. Now, it (she) just grates on my nerves like a load, uncouth, slovenly beggar of a show. I think the show has run it's course, jumped the shark....or in this case, the whale and is just waiting for the cacellation notice.

71. I have long tired of Joy Behar, and BW needs to go back to 20/20. She is tolerable as interview / journalist but most of the time on the View she is clueless. I dont really want to hear so much about Elisabeth's baby Grace. She is starting to wreak of Kathie Lee. Enough already!! I am personally not offeneded by the dog licking comment that Rosie made but I completely agree with most of the others (on many different sites) that adding Rosie was a huge mistake. They should have thought longer and harder b4 deciding on Rosie. I would much rather have seen someone closer to Meredith's profile, a professional AND mother. She represented a lot of woman! I personally dont care if the show goes down the drain as there is another great new talk show host on at the same time. . . Rachel Ray.

72. I did not care one way or an other for Rosi untill she sayd that Dogs lick't her adopted children genitalia.
I think of horror when I think of that .

73. I disagree. I find Rosie to be intrusive, combatitive and rude. She talks over everyone else, interupting whenever she pleases and it seems, really enjoys Outing Others in Hollywood. s
Sure Show Biz is reason for banter, but bashing?,
I have to say, one "Viewer" right here would rather hear Joy, Elisabeth or
Barbara speak. For God's sake, anyone but "Rosie". she's a crude, uptight lesbian. Yuck.

74. I use to watch The View daily, but not with Rosie on there, it's not for me. I can't stand watching her mouth move as she talks. I believe the viewers will become tired of her really quick. I honestly don't think it is a lasting thing.
Thanks goodness that Rachel Ray's show is on at the same time so that gives me something from the 11:00 to 12:00 noon hour.
