Rosie is the Next Big Thing -- Again!

Everyone, myself included, has been doubting Barbara Walter's brainstorm to hire Rosie O'Donnell to replace Star and/or Meredith on "The View." The arguments against Rosie -- not a team player, difficult to get along with, difficult to get along with, difficult to get along with.

Well doubters be damned -- Rosie seems to be connecting with the audience. The ratings for "The View" are up -- pretty significantly. Rosie has moved to Meredith's chair, which sorta makes her the leader of the pack. And my spies tells me that at least on stage, things are pretty copasetic.

There have been rumblings that Elizabeth doesn't get along with Rosie; that Joy is getting tired of playing second fiddle; that Rosie thinks the production of the show is bush league at times. There may be a little truth in some of this, but it wouldn't be the first time a show succeeded in spite of difficult stars; indeed, Exhibit A is Rosie's wildly successful talk show.

The fact is, Rosie is blending better than I ever expected. Besides, nothing succeeds like success. If the rating continue to climb, I doubt the other gals would try and sabotage her -- Rosie could end up being their annuity.

In my mind, the real test will be the relationship between Rosie and Barbara. These are both very strong, controlling individuals with strong points of view. Neither of them are known for compromise. Yet it's inevitable -- if "The View" is to survive with Rosie, compromise on both sides is essential. On that, the jury is out.

106. I've watched "The View" for many,many years now. In the beginning they went through several transitional periods, and finally got it right with Barbara,Meredith, Joy, Star, and lisa . That was "The View" I liked. What they have on today, with Rosie O'donnell? I love you Barbara, but what in the world were you thinking? All of you in the past complimented one anothers personalities, with maybe the exception of Star Jones. I never really liked her "All Mighty" attitude. Todays "View" is just not watchable anymore. Take a hint...You've run it into the ground as far as you can. Quit now while your ratings are still up. Lisiting Bill G.?

107. OMG REN thank Rosie thinks everyone is Gay dang it, no we are not it's one thing to be accepting of someone's "choice" however to throw it in my face daily nope not going to work. She is using the show as a format to voice her views about one thing "being gay". Sorry every show is not about that. If she don't stop talking about Oprah and Gayle it might be issues there. I used to like Rosie heck I think the rest of the cast did too, but I believe Barbera knows she made a mistake. When Lisa/Star was on there along with Meredith there was no need to have Barbera on every show. and the fact that they act like there were no African American females to replace Meredith or Star to me is ridicoulous. I hope Rosie contract is a short one like the song says looks like THE VIEW "is going down". Yes I have been watching it for years even when it was on at night and when the chick from the real world was on there.

108. MARY you are so wrong ...Don't confused what God wants with what people want now. GOD got rid of a whole city because of sexual immorality read your Bible and not just the parts that are comfortable. Elisabeth is right wing no balance I don't think.... I don't like people with no balance. God says love and accept but unfortunatley that is not all what he says. don't take one part and not take it all we have all fallen short, but Rosie continously is throwing in our faces and for that she is wrong. No one who comes to the show seems to like her and they tripped about Star and her mentioning of her wedding something that is world wide celebrated but yet we have to hear about her having sex with a man on TV and her hard up opinions she gets on my nerves. Elisabeth needs to cool it too. She has not lived she only knows one side of things and she is getting on my nerves too.

109. I have had it with Rosie and her nasty comments.....having a dog lick her baby's bottom???? Perverted!!!!! Then her comments about Christians being worse than Muslim terrorists! There are so many Christian bombers blowing up airplanes into skyscrapers. She is an idiot!!!! Barbara got what she wanted...now I hope the show gets cancelled....good ridance!!!! Hang in there Elizabeth until you can find a classier act. Elizabeth is the only real lady. I can't take anymore of Joy, Rosie, and Barbara.....I am switching my chanel to a better "view"...Rachel Ray!

110. I am and always have been an avid fan of the view. I am a school teacher and DVR the show to watch when I come home. I adore Merideth and can't blame her for bettering herself, however, she is sorely missed. I am also a devoted Christian but hold liberal views on many issues. I love Elisabeth even though she is at times too conservative for me, but at least she brings a much needed "view" to the View. I enjoy Joy's wittiness and Barbara's attempt to keep things evened out, when she can get a word in over Rosie that is. I am so fed up with Rosie's rude and obnoxious taking over of every topic brought up. I am so afraid that people are going to get so tired of her that the show will be cancelled. I have nothing against Barbara Striesand, however, I and many other of my friends are sick to death of hearing Rosie go on and on and on about her. I wanted to scream when Rosie said and I quote " Why do people watch The View? For the free stuff". That is NOT why we watch The View. It is a show about different views, opinions and hot topics!!! Even though I continue to watch each and every show, it seems that it gets worse every day. Please Bill Getty and Barbara Walters do something before I am the only one left watching. Also, while everyone should be able to dress in outfits that they like, when you are on national TV you should at least look presentable. Rosie, at times, looks more like she is about to clean up after the show rather than moderate it. I continue to take up for Elisabeth, Joy and Barbara, but it is sad in a funny sort of way when the best thing that has happened for the week is when Rosie's mic went dead.

111. I enjoy watching The View since Rosie O'Donnell is the new host. I get so many laughs in the morning, thanks to her. I love the chit-chat, but I don't like Elisabeth as she seems so false and tries too hard to be noticed. Very immature lady and needs to grow up. I love Joy and agree with most of her opinions on things, especially with her view on Mel Gibson. He IS a disgrace and should keep his mouth shut. I can take Barbara Walters, as she is from my home town in Boston, and I love to hear her accent, as I am in Florida now, and it takes me back. KEEP ROSIE, SHE IS DOING VERY GOOD. Never thought I'd like her, but I sure do now.

112. I have always liked the "View". The title says it all. I have always liked rosie but as her own show host.......She is a Hog she talks over the other hosts and it's just plain rude. She might be the bigger star on the show but the View was around before she came aboard. It's very annoying watching Rosie rudly talk over everyone! It's only a matter of time before Rosie is gone from the view or she gets her own show again. Sure the rating are up on the View but it's only a matter of time before we all get sick of rosies rudeness.

113. Use to be a big fan of The View. Now i don't watch anymore. I gave Rosie a chance at first but she is a loud mouth who doesn't seem to get the concept of the show., four women with differing views about a variety of subjects. She never lets the others talk. She constantly interupts if one of them tries to get a word in. She talks too much about her kids. Reminds me of Kathy Lee Gifford. She berates Elizabeth for being a conservative. Let me remind her that a lot of us out there are. Barbara needs to regain control of the show . If not, there may not be a show left. I already know of several friends who have stopped watching.

114. Rosie is just what The View needed! The View is all about presenting different points of view. I enjoy the concept and show. It is a daily dose of intelligent and entertaining conversation of today's news, cultural events, and entertainment. If you are close-minded and/or hateful, you will NOT like it. Go Rosie, Joy, Elis., abd BW! I started watching when Rosie became a co-host. Then I knew it would be balanced.

115. Oh, please! Enough already!
Rosie, I'm wanting to like you. I'm waiting for you to stop all the "new-girl-on-the-block-so-I-have-to-be-loud-to-be-noticed" persona, but puuuhleeze, do it already! It's been, generally, a good show all of these years, with a few exceptions as in any show, but if you don't calm it down a tad, stop refering to your sexual orientation each day and allow the "real bosses" of the The View to put on the show we're tuning in to watch, then, whether you stay or not, we'll be "Viewing" something else. What a shame that would be because I truly love Joy and Barbara (not necessarilly in that order).

116. I'm with those of you who are bothered by the CONSTANT gay talk. There have been more gay guests than straight ones. . .and why do we have to be reminded constantly that she is gay and that according to her 10% of America is gay and that she has a gay cruiseline (which has been plugged to DEATH btw) and Kelly runs it and bla bla bla. . .obviously Elizabeth is trying to be a good sport and not just say she disapproves of the gay lifestyle because that would be putting Rosie down publicly but Rosie doesn't care about being offensive to Elisabeth. I know alot of you think Elisabeth is too whiney but that is because she's trying to get another point of view out and it is NEVER heard. I am sad cuz I like the show but think it has gone WAY over the top to the point where anyone who is anti gay marriage or pro Bush or even slightly Republican is basically attacked every episode.

117. Take it from a lesbian..Rosie sucks. She is played out, and trying her best top get her old show back on throught the view.

Well the producers should really take a closer look at the has been Rosie. Liz is not the bitter one. Rosie on the other hand appears to be very bitter. GET OFF OF THE VIEW FASTTTTTT, OR THERE WILL BE NOTHING TO VIEW.

118. When ever I do get the time to look at the view, and see Rosi on the show. I simply cannot get the vision of her out of my mind when she played In the FLINSTONES. My god she should have played FRED FLINSTONE, NOT BETTY. She yells like FRED, LOOKS FOR ATTENTION FROM EVERYONE LIKE FRED. WELL WE ALL KNOW SHE WEARS THE DRESS / PANTS LIKE FRED . BARBARA BETTER WATCH OUT, FRED O' DONNELL IS TRYING TO TAKE HER PLACE.
