"Dog" Chapman Arrested, Faces Extradition

Duane MSNBC's Rita Cosby is reporting that Duane Dog Chapman, star of the A&E reality series "Dog the Bounty Hunter," and two members of his bounty hunting team (including his son) were arrested by U.S. officials today for extradition to Mexico. Cosby is reporting that Mexican government officials wanted the three men sent back there in relation to a three-year-old case.

In 2003, Chapman traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to retrieve Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster, who was wanted in the U.S. on rape charges. Luster is now in jail, serving a 124-year term. The Chapmans were jailed in Mexico for a brief time for the incident three years ago. Bounty hunting is considered a crime in Mexico.

Dog's wife, Beth Chapman, said 12 armed marshals "came through the door" at 6:00AM this morning. She said they took their daughter's boyfriend down at gunpoint. Dog was sleeping at the time.

TMZ spoke with Nicky Credic from the U.S. Marshals Office. She said, "The arrest warrant was signed by a U.S. magistrate in Hawaii on September 13. The warrant was based on a formal request based on a diplomatic note from the government of Mexico."

1723. and u.s. government officials - SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! with all the myriad of problems facing this country, THIS is the priority? what about concentrating on the iMPORTANT things - like maybe IRAN and the NUCLEAR threat. you think?

But KIIIMMMMM (I'm whining now) President Bush IS concentrating on IMPORTANT THINGS like post #1663. Bush is going to take the time to meet with Kazakhstan's president Nursultan Nazarbayev, to discuss the damage done by a British comedian done to Kazakhstan's IMAGE. Mean while this comedian is photgraphed by an American photographer, taking some pictures up a woman's dress at the Chinese Theater.

1713. Its a shame whats happened to the Dog. Think about all the people lives that would be changed forever if he hadnt gone to mexico to get Andrew Luster, and the peace of mind of the people he did rape to know he is now behind bars for the rest of his life. I can see why the Mexican Goverment makes bounty humting a crime down there, they want the bad guys down there along with their money. Besides they dont want Mexican people being brought back here for crimes they commited here then fled back to Mexico for safety because they can bride their Goverment people down there. What can the american people do to help him?

1714. The Chapman Family: Dog, Tim and Leland went to Mexico to make right something that the Amierican Court system could not or would not enforce. They went after a psychopathic predator who was convicted of 86 counts of rape and who is now serving over 120 years in prison after the Chapman's captured him.
They did the American Justice System and the citizens and women of Mexico a great deed and should be heralded as an AMERICAN HERO!

What was once the great and proud country of Mexico is now so pathetic,
money is all that their family value system has come too. They are the ones to be ashamed.... Tim hold your head up high. We are proud of what you and Chapman family have shared with us.

1715. I am very pissed that mthe Justice System will do some crazy stuff like this. I just wont to let the Chapmans know that you all are in my Prayer. Please let Leland, Dog and Tim know that we in Madison, Wisconsin know we love them and keeping up the beautiful work and keeping all the bad people off the streets. Sincerely,
Sadae Fleming

1719. I thought the entire special was good, but Tim did me in as well, brought the tears right to my eyes. I know a guy very much like him, even looks like him, and I saw him there, speaking just those words. That ripped my heart out the most. Dog may have gotten most of the attention to date, but Tim stole the show with that one minute clip., at least as far as I am concerned. I am still sniffin!!!

PS, why is it no matter WHAT blogg you go on, somebody, somehow WITH OUT FAIL, always brings the conversation around to the Iraq war and blames Bush for everything they can think of, including their own hemorrhoids. What the hell does that have to do with the interview Donna?????

1724. BOYCOTT Mexico AND Max Factor! Obviously, the scumbag paid off several scumbags in Mexico and maybe the U.S too. We the People will speak by not spending money for either. It is so obvious what is going down but as usual the money in the pockets of the corrupt will hurt their country and do not care. As the scumbag stated to those interviewed tonight on A&E, 'he knows how to win.' Considering the evidence found on his 'payback' page of his notebook, he was planning to execute other crimes in the U.S. and again victimize his victims. DO NOT SUPPORT THEM!

1725. I feel that DOG is getting let down by all. He did the work for the FEDS and got the guy that they couldn't seem to find and now they desert him. They owe him more.
