Don't Cage the Dog!

Duane Dog Chapman: Click to watchIn the wake of Duane Dog Chapman's arrest and pending extradition to Mexico, support is pouring in for the famed bounty hunter.

A&E, the channel which airs his reality series "Dog the Bounty Hunter," issued a statement saying, "A&E supports Dog and his family during this difficult time and is proud of his role in helping to bring a convicted serial rapist to justice."

Chapman traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in 2003 to retrieve Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster, who was wanted in the U.S. on rape charges. Luster is now in jail, serving a 124-year term. The Chapmans were jailed in Mexico for a brief time for the incident three years ago. Bounty hunting is considered a crime in Mexico.

"Dog is a hero to America ... Dog captured this horrible guy [Andrew Luster] and now he's in trouble for it all over again, " says Rick Fass of Powerlock, a company Chapman is a spokesman for. "It just doesn't make sense," Fass adds, "Powerlock and the entire Powerlock family stands behind our national spokesperson."

Chapman recently filmed an ad for the Powerlock company's new product, Wheel Safe, which keeps wheels, tires and custom rims locked, preventing robbery.

92. What is wrong with what Dog is doing? Can't a guy like him get a job done without any problems? I say," Release Dog! "

93. This entire thing is just ridiculous! Dog and his family have done so much for justice and community, and this is how they are being repaid??

I'm so disgusted... and I feel for him and his family. I'm disappointed that not one person in a position of authority has stood up to speak on behalf of this wonderful man and his family. I'm disappointed, disgusted and sickened by the actions that have been taken... and the ones that haven't. Someone should be speaking up for them- someone of position and power.

What gets me is after all this time! It's been three years for goodness sake. If the "crimes" were so horrible, why did the Mexican government wait so long? Why is the US allowing this to happen? And when is a misdemeanor charge worthy of extradition? It doesn't make sense at all...

Dog and family, you're heroes and phenomenal people. Please don't let this get you down!

Bless you and yours... and me and mine will keep you in our thoughts and prayers, hoping that all this will be over very soon and true justice will be served. I truly wish there was something more I could do to help...

Wish you well,

~Z

96. If capturing and keeping a sick person, like Luster, off the streets ends with jailing the people who single handedly caught him...why should anyone even bother keeping the peace??? Dog, Leland & Tim should be honored by Mexico for taking that creep out of their country. What if Luster had drugged, raped and/or killed one of their citizens instead of being caught by the team? Someone has larger pockets tonight than they did before the warrant was issued for these wonderful men.

Does the new president of Mexico really think that this is a vital action that needs to be handled to suffice the attention of his people? (I wouldn't be surprised since the election that got him into office had so many controversial "errors".) Maybe he is just trying to prove that he is worthy of his newly "not earned" position amongst the people of Mexico and U.S. Clouding the waters with news worthy publicity and trying to shift the perspective off of himself might be what he is trying to accomplish. Wake up and smell the coffee El Presidente...you have one hell of a fight on your dirty hands.

Considering all that the Team has done for the state of Hawaii, you would think that the US Government would recognize the magnitude of the positive work Dog, Leland & Tim have performed. Not forgetting that these men put their lives and families on the line. The Government doesn't seem to be doing anything about the drug and violence problems within the state...maybe they are too busy sipping on their Mai Tai's, basking in the beautiful sun & drooling at all the under-aged bikini clad ladies while sitting at the pool of the $1,000 plus a night hotel that the tax payers are paying for.

99. dog is a coward, the truth is he knew the law and broke it to get fame. he broke the law willingly, and just proves what a phony the guy is. he hunts down criminal who break their bond or are wanted. well he was charged 3 years ago, and skipped town back to where he lives. HE BROKE THE LAW, love him or not, he should face justice just like everyone else. the only reason he gets support is because of his character on the tv show. i don't care how good of a person you are, if you break the law you must live with that.

101. That's a bunch of bullshit that they would arrest the Dog, Leland & Tim over coming to Mexico to get a rapist. If they want to keep a rapist in their country let their sorry asses keep him and rape their fucking people. Or is it just because Granddaddy has money so they are more concerned with that then the fact that this asshole rapes helpless women. Maybe if he would have raped their mother , sister, daughter or grandaughter than he would have been happy to have DOG come over there and get this jerk. Beth, Dog, Leland, Tim , and the rest of the Chapman family you are in my thoughts and prayers . You guys do great things and I love to watch your show and will continue to watch your show. I can promise I will never buy MAX FACTOR MAKE UP again SCREW THE MAX FACTOR FAMILY and every thing they represent. You know if you have money it talks and bullshit walks. Anyways GODBLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN YOUR TIME OF NEED.

102. Dog, Tim & Leland have more balls than the general population. Here's a thought, how about we keep them in the good ole USA, & send ...oh about 1,000,000 Mexicans to Mexico?????? hmmmm???

Posted at 2:01AM on Sep 15th 2006 by Brennie

103. Perhaps the fifteen Marshals used to arrest the Dog could have been placed on the Mexican border to protect our sovereignty. Mexico does almost nothing to recognize our sovereignty and we should do nothing to recognize theirs. As usual, the Feds have lost sight of priorities and spend more time protecting the criminals. If the Dog is imprisoned in Mexico, we should start a fund to hire mercenaries to get him out. The only law the Mexican government recognizes is the law of corruption.
