Lukas Not "Star" Boyfriend Material

61. I watched the entire season. At first I thought Lukas was kind of edgy, and that Toby and Ryan were a bit in over their heads. As the weeks went on, however, everything did a 180. Lukas started to grate on me . . . like nails on a chalkboard. Someone on another board said it best: "Dilana plays to the crowd, Lukas plays to himself." I couldn't agree more. Dilana would have been the perfect choice. Magni was a little too vanilla. Toby would have been great. Even Ryan would have been better than Lukas. I saw the "Headspin" acoustic. First, it was the third time for a so-so song. Second, his heavy breathing, lion-growl-everything, incoherent singing gave me a headache. Third, he embarassed himslef with his one-finger guitar playing. It completely sucked. For you other Dilana fans just remember, Lukas is fronting a bunch of used-to-be's. In a sense, he's perfect. Dilana is way above and beyond that.

62. I feel very sorry for Francesca and think she handled it well under the circumstances, though the look in her eyes told a story all its own. Meanwhile, prancing Lukas ignored her like she didn't even exist. Seven years must be a blink of the eye in the face of sudden faux rock stardom.

I'm so tired of talented people getting shafted in the music business while poseurs like Lukas get deals. How Dilana didn't get this gig is beyond me. Unless it was rigged from the start, which has been suggested on various internet sources for the past four weeks or so. Has he really been recording a record with these guys for weeks, as has been reported?

On the other hand, it may be that the stars are properly aligned in this case because it sure seems like this Artists Formerly Known As Supernova tour is going to be a ride to nowhere, while Dilana got a great deal of exposure for her enormous talents. Hopefully, if there is any justice left in the musiz biz, this phenomenal performer will have another opportunity to shine, while Lukas (who bleats out songs like a goat) will go the way of JD (what's he up to these days?) Fortune.

What a crappy way to treat your girlfriend of seven years. There's an old Italian phrase: God has little feet, but he gets there.

If not being seen with a girlfriend was the upfront deal, a simple pre-party phone call might've solved the immediate problem. if not the understandably pissed off reaction of a rejected long-time girlfriend. Personally, I'd be loathe to date a guy who uses more cosmetics than I do.

Damn. I was all set to buy a ticket to see a band I didn't want to see, as long as Dilana fronted it. I'll save the $$ for the day when, hopefully, she will release a CD and tour in NYC.

BTW, has anyone else noticed Lukas' resemblance to a very young Marlon Brando in goth drag?

63. Also, BTW, I second your thoughts about the house band. What a talented group of musicians and backup vocalists. I question the wisdom of Clarke/Newsted/Lee because, while their chops might've been okay some years ago, time has passed, and the house band just wiped them right off the stage. Supernova itself could not play many of the songs performed nearly as well as the house band, if at all.

Dilana said she auditioned so she could play with the house band. While they've all likely got lots of studio work coming up, wouldn't it be great if they could go out on the road with Dilana -- not as part of the Supernova extravaganza (which reminds me of the old Alan Freed spectacles, -- don't remember them personally !--where every act only got a song or two -- kind of a rock'n'roll vaudeville setup) but on their own with a good songwriter (they would need that) and her to front?

Hell, I'd buy tickets for that in a nanosecond! She'd be a big star with a good songwriting collaborator and a fantastic band! Just the shot in the arm that rock'n'roll needs!

64. I couldn't believe they picked Lukas to front their band!! I've lost all interest in anything the band does in the future now. I think his words are unclear and his voice sounds restrained and I just don't like how he sings at all. I think they made a big mistake. I will look for future recordings from the other finalists though, I thought they were great, but this guy, what were they thinking? I was disappointed in their choice bigtime!!

65. that show sucked. the singers sucked, yes including dilana or whatever her name is. the band will suck. these has been *rockers* were & still are, a gimmick. the only halfass talent is navarro & thats only due from being in janes addiction. he's turned into publicity seeking joke. they are all sellouts.

66. right on #47 - we have no idea what his relationship with fran is really like.

most of the people that are commenting are just pissed that they picked lukas over dilana - who in my opinion sounds like stevie nicks on crack. plus her songwritting is god awful. you couldn't PAY me to see dilana live (even if gilby helps her out in the songwriting department), but lukas was alright with me... @ least he can write a decent tune.

i think toby would have been a slightly better choice or even storm but lukas is who tommy wanted to front the band (do you guys really think gilby & jason had much say in the matter?). the show was purely a publicity stunt from the start (just like rockstar:inxs) & if you people were too blind to see that then you guys are the real idiots. voting never REALLY mattered.....

67. No one will hear of any of them besides Lukas, just like JD. We only hear about the winners of the shows. Last years group was way better and where are they now? Marty Casey cant even get his record company to make a video even after all the exposure of the show. He was a million times better than any one from this year and he cant make it? something is wrong with the record biz.. too much rap and blonde bimbos clogging up the airwaves and not enough Real talent!

I never expexted SuperNova to be male chauvinist pigs, but when they announced Lukas as the winner and Tommy said "your one of the boys now" I thought ,first of all, what a DUMB mistake to pick Lukas when Dilana was clearly the best singer and personality for the band, and second, now they will just be another "boy band" instead of something different in this world where rock and roll is taking a nose dive. Too bad SuperNova....you blew this one BIG TIME!

72. I didn't like that little bat boy to start with and now I like him even less. I feel sorry for his girlfriend. For that matter any girl that hooks up with the little bat. SuperNova had 4 truly talented singers and they picked him. To bad for SuperNova.

74. This band is going to suck ass. You have 3 well known has-beens, and one new loser. I've already heard the 2 new songs and they suck big dick. Here was a waste of 12 weeks on TV. Tommy you know times are tuff when Motley Crue has to open for Aerosmith. (Now that's a real band!!!!!)

1. Lucas is not in control who can get in, he took you there to go in and was stopped.
2. Do you think these people would cause trouble for themselves if they had won.
3. It will all work out
4. Others will try to make you feel worthless, to make themselves feel good.
5. Lucas is not stupid the people who are telling you this sh''' are.
6. Lucas is not in control yet., When he is, then judge him.
7. Some people are so ready to bring the ones that win DOWN, think why.
8. He cared enough to take you to this first important pary.
9. Had he known what would happen, he would not have taken you, right it is embarrasing.
10. His choice to go in without you, WOW think it must have upset him but shoot why would he blow it now.
