Mel Walks His Daughter Down the Aisle

Mel Gibson came out of seclusion Saturday to the sound of chiming wedding bells. The embattled actor proudly walked his 26-year-old daughter Hannah down the aisle, as she married blues guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Hannah is the eldest of Mel's seven children and his only daughter.

The lavish ceremony took place at Holy Family Catholic Church in Agoura Hills, Calif., which Mel built using his own personal fortune. The traditional Catholic ceremony was reportedly performed entirely in Latin.

After the ceremony, the happy couple was promptly whisked away in a jet black limousine, as both cameras and well-wishers looked on.

Shepherd is no newbie to fame; the musician achieved his first platinum album while in high school and received a Grammy nomination for both his "Trouble" and "Live On" albums.

46. You're on here too!!!

Happy day for Hanna, nice husband, and she gets away from her @#$%^&*! father.
For you that don't know about the catholic religion, here goes.................
The Pope is infalble, you can't be concidered a Catholic if you go against the Pope's declarations. Not any Pope that you choose, the current Pope.
Mel has decided since Vatacan ll that he didn't like the rules, so he just up and decided he didn't have to follow them. So he's NOT a Catholic! He's an arrogant deviant misfit who dares to think he can rise above it all by just building his own church. He can call himself anything he wants, a Gibsonist, but he can not call himself a Catholic.
He thinks he's above the law AND the teachings of his church. So what makes him such a great man???

47. I'm happy for Mel. It was unfortunate that he was drunk and out of control. He was just reciting what he's heard from his father all his life. I bet everyone that has commented on this page has had a BAD drunk moment when they didn't or wouldn't even know who they were or what they were doing! My mom is not prejudice, however, her fathr was.....COMPLETELY! I say this having many jewish friends and loving all people. Myself, I don't believe in organized religion and believe it is the base of ALL the world's problems.

48. Yo! Could we have a spell checker in here, please?
So what if Mel likes to get sh**faced and pick on Jews? He's a CELEB, people. And celebs have certain rights that allows them to do things the rest of us can't and get away with it. Or is it money that allows us...? Never mind. Same same. Money. Rights. Whatever.
At least he's not a scientologist or have a crematorium in his backyard.
And Lisa - quit picking on Fred!
Fred - quit trying to p*ss off Lisa!
Whew! I'm going to lay back down under the end zone. It's quieter there. Tah tah.

49. So many perfect people out there, can't people make mistakes? If only people would try to help the ones getting a 'word slashing' in positive ways, our world could be a better place. It is common for people so critical to be completely destroyed themselves and that is why they try to destroy others. Lighten up please and don't forget to "JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED!"

50. Congrats to the bride and groom.

Mel is entitled to his thoughts and feelings, just as are the rest of us covered under the umbrella of free speech. Mel's (or anyone's) apology does not change his thoughts or feelings - it's simply the polite thing to do in this society when one recognizes they were at fault. More than I can say for those of you hating on Mel without conscience.

52. I think Mel made a mistake and he is trying to atone for it. Give him a break.
We all make many mistakes. Lets forget about it and move on. The more you stir the it the worst it smells.

53. To Fred and John,
I guess you don't go to church based on your comments. So what's hiding in your closet?
