"FutureSex/LoveSounds" Scores Big

justin timberlakeThis week proved that once again Justin Timberlake is one boy band member who can enjoy success after leaving the boys behind.

Sales numbers for his second offering, "FutureSex/LoveSounds," are in, and with the buzz around his single "SexyBack," he was able to upstage the sales of first offering, "Justified," back in 2004. In its first outing, "FutureSex/LoveSounds" sold 684,000 units in one week. Not bad, although not nearly as close as his *NSYNC cohorts who sold over 2 million albums in one week back in 2000.

It also didn't hurt that he collaborated with some of the most talented producers in hip-hop music today, including JAWBreakers, Timbaland and Rick Rubin.

Let's hope JT can avoid the fate that has befallen other pop icons in their second week of album sales. Jessica Simpson's "Public Affair" dropped 41% in its second week in stores and this week Beyoncé's "B'Day" dropped an astounding 70%. Ouch.

2. Justin who? And "hip-hop music?" Why insult "music" by attaching it to "hip-hop?" What the hell is hip-hop?

4. And Rick Rubin is GOD so JT made good producer choices for sure.

Metallica ditched Bob "let me write your songs" Rock - For Rick Rubin on their next album also.

Rick Rubin & Russell Simmons made the recording industry what it is today.

5. I really don't like this guy, I really don't. Something about him just seem fake. Almost as if he was put together by PR people.

6. Oh too bad, Jessica's new song dropped 41 percent in the second week. Note to Jessica - without Nick you are a BIG ZERO, face it, your through and it could not have happened to a better person.

Maybe now Daddy will sit in the garage with the door closed and the motor running because I am sure he does not want to go back to his old life.

Finally, people are starting to see you and your's for what you are - low class trash.

7. Great going Justin Timberlake fans! He's #1 and deserves it!
The album is awesome, with his silky smooth vocals and creative collaborations with the finest producers in the industry! Finally here's an artist that's not afraid to step outside of the box. Timberlake is taking music to the next level and continually raising the bar. So is Christina Aguilera! Go get her album too, it's fabulous!
Quit trying to label the music and the artist. Just listen, get up off your asses and dance!

9. #2, Jeff to answer your question.

Hip Hop is MUSIC that makes people feel good and makes the artists millions/billions.

Don't be jealous because you're miserable. Get off the couch and get a life.

#3, Bubba...............need I say more?

10. Well, if it was for me, all the sales for all the albums would drop 100 % in it's first week, because first of all - I find it very hard to listen to 10-15 records of one artist straight (same voice, same manner) and two - if I can download tham why would I spend my hard earned dimes and nickles on Cd's. I can't even imagine myself listening to Miraiah Cary' album, because her super strong voice can just knock you out in two minutes. But I guess it;s just because I am nobody' s fan and like different songs by different artists.

15. Forget all the bogus hype and the staged brawl between Justin Timberlake,
Cameron Diaz and a photographer, an effort to generate more false buzz for Timberfake's horrible new album...no doubt. And trust me, no matter what these record company plants are writing in to say about this CD where positives are concerned, the whole project is trash!!! Let me tell you something...if his new solo album is supposed to be so successful, having sold 684,000 in its first week, then tell me, isn't this still a major decline from the days when N' Synch sold over 1.6 million in a week???
