17. It seems that the laws that were originally set up to protect innocent women from being mistreated in a marriage and left destitute in a divorce after staying married with a man and supporting him
are being maniputed now for profit by some ill-minded people.

In Matt's case also, i belive $15,00 a month is too much.

and why should he pay anyway if they have JOINT custody?

He shouln't have to pay full child support, he should just maintain his child well since he has shared custody and then under supervision put the balance of the money in a trust account for the child's future.

That way the money will really be for the girl and the mother wouldn't have to touch it.

On the other hand some rich women are being scammed too by their husbands etc and losing their fortunes.

i truly believe the family laws here should be amended to avoid these loop-holes that make dishonest people and their dishonest lawyers rich.

Family/divorce lawyers in california and the other high-income areas are amongst the richest professionals in the world.

there must be a reason for that.
its unfair...

watching the movie 'intolerable cruelty' left a bitter taste in my mouth.
for some people marriage means nothing but business..it has lost its meaning for them...

18. He was with her for years, was a father figure for her 2 children, then admittedly cheats with a co-star. Of course he should pay based on income. He didn't care how much he hurt 3 children and the woman who he supposedly loved for years. He should use his Friends money to take a course on how to be a real, grown up man. Hollywood or not, have some integrity.

20. Marriage has been made into a mockery in showbiz land. Why should it surprise us any longer? So they're divorcing, who cares? What celebrities should do is abstain from having children that neither of them want in the end.

21. Melissa was actually my neighbor in Wadsworth, Ohio growing up.We watched Charlie's Angels way back when...First off, she lied about her age for as long as she could to him. She is 41 years old, and had tried to pass herself as a decade or so younger..She could not be honest with herself, let alone to him. Not a great way to enter a high-profile marriage. She will be wealthy, but bitter.....Her youth is gone,her society friends will fade away, oh well......Just another moment in Hollywood..............

23. Pay attention: There is a difference between CHILD SUPPORT AND SPOUSAL SUPPORT (aka Alimony). This $15,000 a month is for CHILD support. Go ahead, make the argument that his CHILD is not entitled to it. He can afford it and should have to pay it. There should be a law that people in the entertainment industry should not be allowed to breed, then they wouldn't have to part with the bucks when they get tired of their spouses (or decide to explore 'alternative lifestyles'). Also, I'm pretty sure people go to titty bars for the free lunch...or maybe to LOOK AT THE TITTIES. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.
