Rosie To O: Admit It, Already!

Rosie O'Donnell trained her gaydar on Oprah Winfrey and her BFF Gayle King on "The View," saying that the talk-show queen and her BFF Gayle King are, despite their protestations to the contrary and despite their not being full-blown lovers, "a tiny bit gay." As the denizens of "The View" mused about Oprah and Gayle's cross-country trip, as chronicled on Oprah's season premiere Monday, Rosie turned her attention to the pair. Her assessment? "You might be a little bit gay, you're just not doin' it," she said of O and G, explaining that an absence of sex wouldn't preclude the pair from sharing in a certain sapphic satisfaction.

Whether or not she's pushing Oprah and Gayle towards an admission, Rosie also said that she thinks everyone could be "a tiny bit gay." Needless to say, her cohort and sparring partner Elisabeth Hasselbeck does not.

A call to Oprah's rep at Harpo Productions was not returned. And Rosie, on her blog yesterday, lavished praise on Oprah and the premiere, saying that she was "brilliant," "beautiful," and "something else all [sic] together."

63. It is really a sad commentary when someone like Rosie, believes that in order for one to share a special friendship with another of the same sex, one must be gay . My sister is gay, and although I don't necessarily condone her life choices, IT IS HER LIFE! You can be heterosexual and have a close personal friendship with another of the same sex. Further whether or not Oprah is gay is nobody's business, including Rosie's!

67. Oprah and Gail are not gay. Rosie is loud and crass. She wants everyone to be gay like her. Fat chance. For all you Bible illiterates out there, it was written by people as they were guided by the Holy Spirit (God). Some of you people who are using bad language should read it and get some manners. 69. What the heck is wrong with you people? Rosie was kidding--as she does most of the time. She wasn't forcing her agenda on anyone or anything else. Funny how so many of you who criticize her have to get your fat jokes in. Welcome to the 7th grade again. Heaven forbid you acknowledge ANY of her generosity or the positive impact she's had on numerous lives. Since she's come on the View, I've watched daily as so-called "media outlets" distort and twist the things she says to further their own anti-gay or conservative agenda. Judge not lest the be judged. 74. ALL of you are ignorant! Calling someone "white trash slut" and other comments of the ilk shows that you are just as ignorant as the person you are attacking. This is not a forum for name calling, so grow up and address the argument, not deingrate the writer.

The point of this whole thing is was Rosie O'Donnell right in her comments? The answer is NO. She should respect another's privacy, just because she does not mind her personal life slapped all over the tabloids does not mean that Oprah does. Oprah has the God given right to keep her personal life, just that; PERSONAL. She is answerable to herself and whatever faith or God she believes in, once again a right as any other American Citzen, public or not.
