Janet Regrets Apology for 'Wardrobe Malfunction'

wardrobe malfunctionIt has been over two and half years since Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake had their infamous 'wardrobe malfunction' at the 2004 Super Bowl and for the first time Janet is speaking out about it to Oprah Winfrey.

During an episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show," to air on September 25, the singer has now said she regretted saying sorry because it made her look guilty for something that was an accident.

She also hinted at dissension between her and Mr. Timberlake during the interview, saying she has not spoken with Justin since their performance on February 1, 2004. When Winfrey asked if she felt betrayed, Jackson would not answer directly, but said cryptically, "Loyalty comes first to me."

46. I'm shocked at some of these comments I am reading. For those of you who are preaching "family values"--doesn't that also come along with teaching about forgiveness? Regardless of whether you believe this was a "stunt" or not, morally-the right thing to do is look at this event as unfortunate and forgive Ms. Jackson for the "accident" or her bad judgement in her performance routine. I just can't believe some people are holding such a grudge as if her boob was a weapon of mass destruction. My Lord! Get a grip people.....

47. I'm sorry, but that was not an accident! She had a pastie on for God's sake. You don't just wear pasties unless you plan on flashing your boob! Give me a break! I don't blame JT for staying very far away from that situation. It doesn't look like it hurt his career.

48. Give me a break! Justin knew what was going to happen and maybe Janet did too. Justin said afte rthe performance, and I quote, " It was slick, quick, and to the point"! Why did he say that if he didn't know what was gonna happen? He turned tail and ran when the heat turned up, that's why!!! And that silly beyotch Janet---the way she is advertising her sex life with Jermine Dupri these days, you gotta believe she was in on it! After all, the last verse of Justin's song before the 'malfunction' says, "I'll have you naked by the end of this song"! Okay!? That little geek wouldn't half as big as he is if it weren't for black producers like JD, Timbaland and that black guy Darren who taught his little white bread ass to dance...And Janet, unless you come right out and refute all those things that are being plastered all over gossip mags about you and JD in the bedroom, you are a silly whore too!!!!!!!!!!!

50. GET OFF THE GAS ALREADY..THAT WAS TWO YEARS AGO AND WHO REALLY GIVES A HOOT. WHITE PEOPLE SHOW THEIR TASTLESS ASS EVERYDAY. JUST MORE TITS THAN THEY WERE READY FOR AND NOT PAID FOR. DO U THINK SHE LOSES SLEEP? PUT A RUG OVER IT AND FOCUS ON THAT CROOKED ASS BUSH IN OFFICE THAT ARE KILLING OUR SOLDIERS SO HE CAN CONTINUE BEING BUDDY-BUDDY WITH OSMA.

51. I understand Janet being pissed at Timberlake. He was the one who ripped her wardrobe off, nonetheless after singing the lyric "And I'll have you naked by the end of this song" so if anything, he should have shouldered the blame but he bailed like a baby and apologized profusely and kept saying he didn't have anything to do with it and didn't know and that it was all Janet. Her career suffered while he got off scotch free. I really lost respect for him far much than for her. Ultimately, her career spanned decades since she was a child, I highly doubt Justin Timberlake will be a name in ten years. I don't think Janet should have apologized at all, the human body isn't offensive. I'd like to point of the hypocrisies of the people in here claiming it isn't family TV or the people that sued the networks claiming "emotional distress", which are the same people that watch thousands of people get killed and maimed on television on the same channels every year.

52. Why does anyone care? So what you saw her breast. There are far worse things being shown on TV and no one is getting fined or blackballed because of it. In my opinion I think she and Justin both knew what was going to happen, but did not expect the reaction that they got. Many of the people who were so horrified by the nipple slip have every right to be upset, but come on calling her names and putting all the blame on her is not right. And to the person who said its because of her that networks do not want to air certain programs, its not because of her its because they just don't want to the air it. One person does not stop anything. Everyone needs to get over it.

53. First let me say that I am either a Janet or Justin Fan. After carefully reading all the comments it is apparent that American Society has a problem with three issues: First, the majority of White American (some blacks) has grown to dislike the most successful musical family in history (White, Black). For some good reasons whether it is believing the once most admired musical artist (Michael) molested children, or Janet reaching the success of Madonna (the numbers supported it). Second, the American public spends as much time placing people at the top as tearing them down! T0 see someone acquire wealth and prestige and lose it is entertainment obviously is amusing! Third, race is still a growing problem in Society! Janet Jackson's breast was expose by a white man! There is no excuse for any sexual provocative move during a family/male dominated sporting event! The issue is the obvious difference of ridicule the two received! Janet is a Jackson, woman and Black! Justin is a white male, teenage heart-throb! The fact is, Janet had a losing hand to begin with! The only defense on can argue for Janet is that she is a season performer and should have been aware of the audience demographics! No one at her level would have plan such a career threatening act! We as a Society must address sexism, racism, and jealousy!

57.
It's a shame there are African Americans out there (# 52) who will defend any black person regardless of their behavior (O.J. Simpson, Cynthia McKinney, Michael Jackson, Tookie Williams, Janet Jackson et al) simply because they are wealthy and famous. To turn this around and make it appear that Janet is a victim and Justin got away with it because he's a white male, is ridiculous and inexcusable. Bad behavior should always be ridiculed, regardless of the person's race.

Quit blaming everything on oppression that occured before your lifetime.

59. Accidents happens and even if it wasn't an accident, who cares. Like some mentioned above, pretty much everything on television is VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED. So if you didn't want to see it you should have closed your eyes for those couple of seconds. Come on people, why so consumed with the Jackson family, you don't know them personally, they don't know you and don't give a sh*t about you. However, it's plain to see you love them, because you can't stop talking about. They (the Jackson's) should be flattered. I know I would be. Janet, Mike, they have more money than some of us will ever have and that's the problem with some of you. JEALOUSY..Get over it!! And by the way, if you get offended by my comment and choose to respond in a childish nature by calling names, etc. to yet another person you don't know and who certainly does not give a sh*t about any of you, go right ahead, if you feel that's what you need to do to make you feel like a man/woman. When you finish and get it all out I hope that you can rest easier tonight. Goodnight!!!!

60. It is amazing that #54 #54 assumes that I am an African-American! It is laughable! Just because I will reference to the sexism and racism that was clearly displayed between Janet and Justin does not mean that I have to be an African-American because I came to Janet's defense (only on that point)! No one should not use race to disguise any behavior that is inexcusable and offensive to the general public! I never once in my commentary (#52) suggest African-American's cannot and do not criticized the behavior of black politicians or celebrities! They do and have on several occasions!
Lastly, for someone to say oppression is a issue of the past clearly lives with blindfolds. I am willing to bet you are not a person of color, or female to even suggests that racism and sexism occurred before our lifetime! If you are, you must live in the upper tax bracket! Your name says it all (sickandtired)! You are sick and clearly tired to make such a comment! Thank God for the 1st Amendment!
