TMZ has learned exclusively that Jennifer Lopez parted ways over the weekend with her manager of over a year, Hollywood heavyweight Jeff Kwatinetz, head of management company The Firm.
The actress-singer-fashion icon's last year has been less than fruitful professionally: Her 2005 album "Rebirth" was a disappointment, and though her role in "An Unfinished Life" with Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman was critically praised, the film itself failed to generate the expected awards-season buzz.
The split comes just before a flurry of professional activity for J.Lo. "Bordertown," in which she plays a journalist investigating the murder of young female factory workers and stars with Antonio Banderas, will be released in October, and "El Cantante," a biographical account of one of the pioneers of salsa (the dance, not the condiment), Hector Lavoe, in which she stars alongside her husband Marc Anthony, just premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, where it received positive reviews and is scheduled to be released in the next several months. Her album of Spanish-language ballads "Como Ama Una Mujer" ("The Way A Woman Loves") is also scheduled for release in November.
In the last year, several managers have left The Firm, taking with them such high-profile acts as the Dixie Chicks, Orlando Bloom and Natalie Portman. The Firm issued a statement to TMZ, saying, "Jennifer is a dear friend of The Firm and will remain so regardless of the business relationship. This was a decision based on differing styles and expectations and we wish her the absolute best."
A rep for Lopez tells TMZ they have no comment at this time.

i thinks she's great and it sounds like she has good material coming out both with movies and music, i like her new color that's how she looked like when she first started the biz.
OMG....................why is J-ho still in exhisitence????? the girl CAN NOT sing, she CAN NOT act (except for Selena - the ONLY movie I will EVER EVER give her props for), her voice absolutely PISSES ME OFF!!, her clothes are SOOO damn ghetto looking and if she didn't have a good choreographer, she wouldn't be able to dance either.. I must be the biggest J-Ho hater in the world but then again, I'm not the only one.. It's a shame that the movie & music business have failed to recognize talent.. She must have been good on the casting director's couch.. THat's the only reason I can fathom for why she is even still around.

She messed around with Marc Anthony when he was still married to his ex-wife Dianaria. so she burns another latina for a try at the spanish thing, cuz you know she married Marc for her advancement on her dried up career. After she makes it (if she does)!! she'll dump Marc Anthony, just like she did PDiddy, after he helped her with her first solo album, she dumps him. and what about that poor dancer, she makes him spend all of his life savings on her engagement ring, which shes not even worth it. Here is something for all you j-lo lovers to think about. If you were to gather up all the movies she ever made with the exception of Selena, You would notice that every character she plays is the same in every movie. She is not a true actress, she is what we call a lucky actress. Lets face it we will never see her going up to get her oscar. The only reason she went to the Puerto Rican day parade was b/c of Marc Anthony, She has never been in the in the parade before. She picks and choose when she wants to be Puerto Rican. It sad i know but don't have to worry, she has been doing great on getting by with her ass opps i mean..... You know i have no idea how shes been getting by in this industry. Jennifer Lopez is a fantastic actress. She hires these people, she should be able to hire or fire whatever idiots she feels necessary.
You all sound like a bunch of haters. Jennifer Lopez is beautiful. She just happens to be human like you and I, except every move she makes is scrutinized by your armchair singers and actors. Her business is her business. If she choses a new manager, so what? Is that your business? Would you like someone to criticize you for business decisions you make? She has all the facts, just like you hopefully would, that help you make the choices you make. Stop being so critical and judgemental. She's a human being. All you need to do is turn the tv dial if one of her movies or videos come on and you don't like her.
