Nervous Mario Says, Show Must Go On

TMZ just spoke with Mario Lopez, who confirmed his dancing partner injured herself today, just hours before "Dancing With the Stars" airs live on ABC.

Lopez says Karina Smirnoff "hurt her back and neck in rehearsal" and doctors were summoned to the set. Lopez says Smirnoff is in pain, adding, "I hope she pulls it together. I'm nervous."

Mario, who is a favorite to win the competition, is scheduled to dance the tango tonight. The dance, known for it's jerky movements, could be particularly difficult for Smirnoff.

And a source on the set says at around 7:00 PM Eastern time, Karina was back rehearsing. Stay tuned.

31. Mario and Joey are the best dancers and have the most charisma why penalize them for some origionality. Mario could dance a polka and be sexy. Keep it up guys!!!! Harry Hamlin is such a stick figure he needs some oil in his joints to loosen up. The old guys should be sent out to pasture.

32. go mario he is so hot that evidently the judges can't focus . vivica i think i would stay away from the acrobatics. you are toooo old. i guess race and sex is what determines who is breaking what rules.

34. Word on the set of the ABC show is that Mario and Katrina are more than just dancing partners, if you know what I mean. So who knows how she really threw out her neck/back...

35. I don"t understand why they keep talking about how funny Jerry is for crying outloud this is a dancing show not comedy. Get Jerry out of there.

I hope emmet wins and he is such a professional, and dances and handles himself well. Mario seems to me to be stuck on himself.
