Owens: I Never Tried to Kill Myself

Terrell Owens says he did not attempt suicide and any notion he swallowed 35 pain pills is absurd.

Owens was taken to a hospital Tuesday night after his publicist, Kim Etheredge, called 911 and reported what she believed to be a suicide attempt. Etheredge, who also spoke at the news conference, says the police were wrong when they said she told them Owens was depressed.

Etheredge says she became alarmed when Owens seemed unresponsive, but insists it was not a suicide attempt.

Owens says he's ok now and wants to suit up and play in Sunday's game. Owens denies that he was feeling depressed and also thanked his friends and fans for their support.

I don't know WHAT to think of this... it's all very fishy, the pills were in a drawer b/c he separated them so he put them into a unsanitary drawer, who does that??? then he was unresponsive so she called 911 but the officers are claiming that in front of them he tried to "cram more pills in his mouth", for sure he took extra pills he states that himself but y would he try to kill himself now??? if anytime it should have been last year when he was all over espn &tv as the most hated man in the NFL, either way if he did really attempt suicide as a fellow human being he deserves compassion and some tough love, hope he has people around him who really care about him the person.

34. Hmmmm...let's see. I cracked a bone in my hand so I may not play this weekend. So how can i still keep my name and face out there for the public so they won't forget about me? I know!! I'll take a whole bunch of pain medication, and when someone asks me if I'm trying to "harm" myself, I'll say, "Yes."
Cool. Now I'm back in the news. Now how do I cover up for my sorry ass little stunt? I know!! When asked by the media about what happened, I'll say," I didn't say that." or "I don't remember. There were so many people around and I was confused."
And just to make sure I don't lose any of my devoted fans, I'll have my gum chewing, late night dinner sharing, oh so professional publicist deny anything that she may have said. (Even though a police report has everything she said on record.)
Well...mission accomplished!! America can talk about me again for a few days until maybe I can do what I'm supposed to do...shut up and PLAY FOOTBALL!!!

And here is the saddest part of this whole story.... this guy is seriously in psychological and emotional crises...hence his "fake" (?) suicide attempt, but yet it is more important for those around him for the sake of "appearance" to protect the millions that he represents, to act as if...nothing happened. So the next time (and there will be a next time as internal pain does not disappear in thin air)... his publicist may not be around... and what will they say.....

44. Yeah- that's what I always do with my prescriptions--I empty out the bottle and put the pills in a drawer... for no good reason. That sounds reasonable and believable, right? Give me a break! But I do have to give TO so much credit for coming out with that press conference and not only convincing the media and America that it was an "allergic reaction to (those very harmful supplements)" , but actually convincing himself. HOWEVER.... that publicist he has, wow!! what a piece of work. Not only did she blame the police, emt 's &doctor's who were trying to help him- apparently she is completely ignorant!!!! She referred to her own client as, and I quote " a man of his STATUE" all the while chomping on her gum. Class act!! didn't she mean stature?? idiot!
At least TO came out and thanked the men and women who helped him during his ordeal--regardless of what the cause of it was.
I hope he fires that incompetent thing that calls herself a publicist and gets the help he needs in any form it comes!!
