Lets Get This Party Started
"The View" -- Who Wears the Pants?

Make no mistake about it: Barbara Walters runs "The View," and if you don't believe it, just ask her. Sources connected with the show tell TMZ that Barbara is going out of her way to make it clear to everyone, including Rosie, that she's The Man. And that's one reason that Barbara has been on the show nearly every day since Rosie debuted. But it's utterly obvious to everyone connected with the show that Barbara is asserting herself to all and sundry both backstage and on the set.

By contrast, Rosie has been on her best behavior. Our spies say that, during commercials, her Rosie-ness navigates the audience, posing for pictures with audience members and generally playing nice. Barbara, on the other hand, has been all business, all power, all the time – and she wants to keep it that way.

Britney's Career In the Danger Zone?

Britney Spears wants to do everything she can to help hubby Kevin Federline get his hip-hop career off the ground, but music industry sources tell TMZ that in doing so she could be putting her own career in jeopardy. And even though she's reportedly contributing her voice to a duet called "Crazy" on K-Fed's album, the same sources say that doing that duet could seriously hurt Britney's prospects -- just like it did for Whitney Houston. "Not that [Britney] was churning out hits," says one recording-industry vet, "but it's very reminiscent of what happened to Whitney after the baby and 'Something in Common'."

Indeed, after Whitney and Bobby recorded that 1993 collaboration, Whitney -- who not a year earlier had put out one of the biggest singles of all time, "I Will Always Love You" -- never quite recovered. Besides her manifold personal problems, her musical production also stalled, and though she had two more #1 singles in the Nineties, she's fallen far from the glory of the Eighties and early Nineties. As for Britney, she doesn't have a musical mentor like Clive Davis to guide her through the rough creative patches, so it could be an ever rougher road ahead for Britney than for Whitney.

Eva and Tony Call It Quits – For Real

After a day of rumor, suggestion, and speculation, now it's official: Eva Longoria and NBA star Tony Parker are finished as a couple. "They did break up. It's amicable," says a source to People magazine. "It's distance and demanding careers and not living in the same city. It didn't happen yesterday. It's been going on for a while."

Earlier in the day, a source from the San Antonio Spurs, Parker's team, had said the break-up rumors weren't true, and Longoria's rep Liza Anderson had said that the two were "going through a very difficult time." The pair met in November 2004 and confirmed their coupledom by August 2005.

Party Favors: Scarlett Johansson Is "Sexiest Woman Alive" ... Robin Williams Says Mel Was "Wake-Up Call" ... "Nip/Tuck" Slices Into Scientology

Supplanting the bootylicious Jessica Biel as Esquire magazine's "Sexiest Woman Alive" is the curvaceous Scarlett Johansson. The 21-year-old actress isn't sure how she feels about the crown, however, and would like people to recognize her, um, renal attributes as well. "What about my brain?" she asks. "What about my heart? What about my kidneys and my gallbladder?" ... Robin Williams says that Mel Gibson's DUI arrest helped push him into getting help for his drinking problem. "If you're violating your standards faster than you can lower them, time to go away," he tells Access Hollywood. "Well, if (rehab) was good enough for him, I'll go." ... FX drama "Nip/Tuck" is pulling back the sheets on Scientology, says the LA Times, in its storylines this season, but it's not trying to skewer the often-controversial religion. Creator Ryan Murphy says he's not in the Church, but he was curious about it – and has educated his writing staff on the religion's tenets and beliefs.

16. I will not watch the View as long as Rosie is on. It is not because she is Lesbian.
She is a big mouth show off and is offensive in her manner. I do enjoy Ellen de Generes.

17. I am very dissapointed with Barbara Walters for hiring Rosie. All Rosie has is an adgenda. To replace Meredith Viera with Rosie? Yuck.

I lived in E. Meadow, NY for several years and went to the taping of the View, and really enjoyed it. But, now with Rosie hogging all the attention, it just is awful. She is not representative of most women, and I am disheartened with Barbara's choice.

I used to be a DAILY watcher of your show, not anymore. I used to watch the Rosie O Donnell show, and then she lambasted TOM SELECK (I am not sure of the spelling). So, I stopped watching that show too.

Try for a new co host. Maybe rehire STAR JONES? Maybe you should hire a person without a PERSONAL ADGENDA? Barbara, you made a HUGE MISTAKE.

I am a college student of the over 40 crowd, and even the young folks at college take a dim view of Rosie O Donnell. Even the very liberal young people at my college do not think well of Rosie O Donnell. Let her get her own show, and get her off the View.

18. The View is about the silliest program on the air. Can't handle 4 to 5 opinionated women talking at the same time. Barbara Walters should retire and Rosie should go back to where she came from. Frankly, if it has to be on the air at all, bring back Star! Constance, also opinionated

20. To me it just seems like Britney Spears wants to grow up to fast. Marrying and having children by a man she hardly even knew is beyond me. But everyone hits rough patches in their life and as the saying goes "What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger." I truly believe Britney will come out on top and only be be bigger and better than ever.

21. It is was not for Rosie I would have stopped watching the show when Star left. Barbara needs to retire and let the show go forward. Even tight assed Elizabeth is doing much better.

22. I have to say since they changed the seating and Rosie is at one end and Barb is at the other its a great show. I have to say the Barb is very long winded, it takes her forever to spit things out.........come on Barb say it in 10 words or less.

I never really watched the view until Rosie, Its pretty good even though I don't agree with alot of what Rosie says.

I could not stand STAR, she was such a fake.

23. 1/ Rosie: Biggest mouth on a mouthy show. Couldn't stand it before her, now even less.
2/ Britney: Talentless but a papparazi favorite. Always seems to be available, but for all the wrong reasons. Does she worship herself? Me thinks so.
3/ Eva: One of the most gorgeous faces on the screen. A lasting relationship between an athlete and entertainer never seems to last. Joe D & Marilyn M, Mike T & Robin G, and others.
4/ Scarlett: Unbelievable bod, but will it last? [Elizabeth Taylor had one once.] Sexiest? Close but no bananas, Charlize T and Evangaline L just radiate when they're dressed for an occasion.

24. I haven't watched the view since Star Jones left...I used to like it, but I don't like Rosie O'Donnell. It has nothing to do with her sexual preferences...and everything to do with her attitude. She is loud and brash, and not in a funny way either.

Britney Spears is just a mess...you don't go from teeny-bopper to mom. I think she had more maturing to do...as for ghetto fab. Kevin...whatever floats her boat; but I don't think she'll have what it takes to make a comeback.

Don't know much about the whole Eva & Tony thing...I thought they were cute together, but I'm sure we have no idea what was really going on in their relationship, or how they are out of the public eye. I'm glad it was amicable.

Not much to say on the rest either...I love Robin Williams, he's hilarious and I'm glad he's recognizing his problem before it turns into a public fiasco. I think Scarlett Johanssen is pretty so good for her! I don't watch Nip/Tuck, and don't know much about scientology....what little I've heard seems too strange for me...silent births---you don't wanna know what I think about that.

Well, thats my take on it...boring rainy days....

25. Rosie...what can I say? We were on the way to being real friends once, and as fame took over your life you forgot about the folk who tried to minister truth to you. Now your life is ablaze for all the world to see and try to accept. Be a good panelist on the View and spare us the details of your relationship at home. That is creepy.
Miss Barbara is the boss, don't cross her. Be professional and do your job and go home. Thanks.
Brit--take interest in your husband. Stand by him and help him...you married him for better of for worse. He has gifts and talents that need to be used for good. Encourage him, love him, you are in this together. Take care of your family and keep GOD first. You say that matters first and foremost in your life. Begin living that faithfully and GOD will take care of the rest. Forget about what the press says and what folk think. Come back when you wean your little one...we'll be here to cheer you on!

26. Rosie seems to be taking over The View. She is loud, butts in to everything that is said, whether by a host or a guest. She overpowers, is loud, offends the senses and sensibilities, has the personal manners/habits worse than a pig in slop (who cares that a bugger came out when she drank that pink "cocaine" drink). I had friends over for a Friday brunch and we all lost our appetites. Believe me, it had nothing to do with our food! I do not see The View being renewed if Rosie stays on. Sorry about what happened with Starr Jones, but she was bright, knowledgeable, well-mannered, and a definite asset to the show. Take the 'et' off asset and that is Rosie.

27. I love Rosie! Every time the comments turn to children you can see the love she has for her kids. She is so open about her own life and she makes the guests feel comfortable right away.
I really like Eva's character on "Desparate Housewives"; her personal life doesn't matter to me.
Brittany needs to get herself and her kids out of this marriage to this low-life guy who is taking advantage of her at every turn. If she stays with him her career will go down the toilet.

28. Rosie makes the View much more watchable, Barbara Walters and Bill
Getty are too old fashion and out of touch for a current talk show of today, Eva Longoria is with
Mario Lopez I believe. Britney's huband K-Fed should get her help if
she can do it because spouses help each other in life.

29. I too had given up on THE VIEW with Star but have started to watch again with Rosie - and I really love her

30. Brittany made the worse mistake of herlife. She married trash, she is fatter then ever, she can not be a parent too well, Kev is a trashy jerk, he has no talent and will not make it, and the too bad the kids are being raised by trash. Period. She should have stayed wtih Justin and OR stayed single and took care of herself and her career. Brit is old news.......... BRIT WHO??????????
