Lets Get This Party Started
"The View" -- Who Wears the Pants?

Make no mistake about it: Barbara Walters runs "The View," and if you don't believe it, just ask her. Sources connected with the show tell TMZ that Barbara is going out of her way to make it clear to everyone, including Rosie, that she's The Man. And that's one reason that Barbara has been on the show nearly every day since Rosie debuted. But it's utterly obvious to everyone connected with the show that Barbara is asserting herself to all and sundry both backstage and on the set.

By contrast, Rosie has been on her best behavior. Our spies say that, during commercials, her Rosie-ness navigates the audience, posing for pictures with audience members and generally playing nice. Barbara, on the other hand, has been all business, all power, all the time – and she wants to keep it that way.

Britney's Career In the Danger Zone?

Britney Spears wants to do everything she can to help hubby Kevin Federline get his hip-hop career off the ground, but music industry sources tell TMZ that in doing so she could be putting her own career in jeopardy. And even though she's reportedly contributing her voice to a duet called "Crazy" on K-Fed's album, the same sources say that doing that duet could seriously hurt Britney's prospects -- just like it did for Whitney Houston. "Not that [Britney] was churning out hits," says one recording-industry vet, "but it's very reminiscent of what happened to Whitney after the baby and 'Something in Common'."

Indeed, after Whitney and Bobby recorded that 1993 collaboration, Whitney -- who not a year earlier had put out one of the biggest singles of all time, "I Will Always Love You" -- never quite recovered. Besides her manifold personal problems, her musical production also stalled, and though she had two more #1 singles in the Nineties, she's fallen far from the glory of the Eighties and early Nineties. As for Britney, she doesn't have a musical mentor like Clive Davis to guide her through the rough creative patches, so it could be an ever rougher road ahead for Britney than for Whitney.

Eva and Tony Call It Quits – For Real

After a day of rumor, suggestion, and speculation, now it's official: Eva Longoria and NBA star Tony Parker are finished as a couple. "They did break up. It's amicable," says a source to People magazine. "It's distance and demanding careers and not living in the same city. It didn't happen yesterday. It's been going on for a while."

Earlier in the day, a source from the San Antonio Spurs, Parker's team, had said the break-up rumors weren't true, and Longoria's rep Liza Anderson had said that the two were "going through a very difficult time." The pair met in November 2004 and confirmed their coupledom by August 2005.

Party Favors: Scarlett Johansson Is "Sexiest Woman Alive" ... Robin Williams Says Mel Was "Wake-Up Call" ... "Nip/Tuck" Slices Into Scientology

Supplanting the bootylicious Jessica Biel as Esquire magazine's "Sexiest Woman Alive" is the curvaceous Scarlett Johansson. The 21-year-old actress isn't sure how she feels about the crown, however, and would like people to recognize her, um, renal attributes as well. "What about my brain?" she asks. "What about my heart? What about my kidneys and my gallbladder?" ... Robin Williams says that Mel Gibson's DUI arrest helped push him into getting help for his drinking problem. "If you're violating your standards faster than you can lower them, time to go away," he tells Access Hollywood. "Well, if (rehab) was good enough for him, I'll go." ... FX drama "Nip/Tuck" is pulling back the sheets on Scientology, says the LA Times, in its storylines this season, but it's not trying to skewer the often-controversial religion. Creator Ryan Murphy says he's not in the Church, but he was curious about it – and has educated his writing staff on the religion's tenets and beliefs.

31. Rosie is the worst thing that has happaned to the View. When she compared radical Christianity with The Islam Terroriest she lost me. The true Christians follow the teachings of Jesus to love your neighbor as yourself. The love of God is in their hearts, not murder.

32. Eva and Tony seemed like a nice couple though I thought she could do way better. For all those Eva haters you don't know what went on their relationships and none of you would care about or know who the hell Tony Parker was if he wasn't dating Eva.

33. Like Nip Tuck. The Scientology thing is dangerous, because it was INVENTED by a Science fiction writer, L. Ron Hubbard. He hung out on the fringe of some deep thinkers back in the 1940's who were connected to The Rand Corp. and other 'boys in the backroom'-Illuminati-types. He was investigated by the CIA and the FBI for stealing ideas and top secret methods of MIND CONTROL. You ask, how do I know this? I took several courses in the 70's and was told that my 'praying and bible reading' interfered with the dianetics ( that is the process that is taught and facilitated in all it's scientology courses), process and auditing. A machine with two tin cans connected to electrodes measure emotional response to sensitive issues in the person. A bunch of bloody crap! The producers are only being schmoozed to join the cult because they target folk in the Entertainment industry who are making the big bucks!!! People do not get involved with this heinous and dangerous cult!!! Danger! Danger Will Robinson!!! :-)

PLEASE RETURN TO A CLASSY SHOW AND STOP THINKING OF THE AWARD THAT YOU BELIEVE YOU WILL DESERVE WITH TOILET MOUTH RUNNING YOUR SHOWS. BARBARA COME BACK DOWN TO REALITY AND STOP BEING A SNEAKY BITCH.

36. Rosie has done a great job on The View. She's even tamed Ms. HasselbeckI'msopiousImakemyselfsick. For that, I'm grateful. She and Joy have been friends for 20 years, and they play off each other with sarcastic humor. They are a trip together, and so much better than Starving Star.

TMZ needs to understand sarcasm.....

The hatred you homophobs show toward Rosie is a crying shame. Don't look to God to excuse your judgmental ways. HE won't.

I'm so HAPPY for Tony Parker. As a longtime Spurs fan, I knew he would not be able to put up with that idiot for long. Who tells the world that you are teaching your man how to have sex? Gawd! I would have dumped her then, and man, he took the jokes from the guys on the team. It was pi-ti-ful but funny. Tony would just laugh.

Eva was way to old for my boy TP, and he is way to young to be married. She wanted kids right away, and he said "NO". It's good for her that she moves along and finds what she wants.

Remember, she's too good for the show now, and ONLY wants to make movies.
Funny how she never made a movie until the show. Look for this to be her last season, then her movie career will flop, and Eva will be lost in translation again just like she was before DHW.

Tony ---- live it up and get your mind on basketball.....

38. Proud of Robin Williams!!! He had the courage to face his pain, which is great because he lost his best friend Chris R. and then his wife a few years later. He was a major support of Chris during his illness and also that of his wife, and he loves their child. It hurts so much to lose someone in any walk of this life. To have that be a public thing is worse, but Robin could only hide his pain, and self medicate for only so long. Good for him that he is seeking help. God Bless him! He is amazing and has a wealth of talent, depth and heart. Loved working with him on the 2000 Academy Awards show. He signed everyone's autograph books, took pix...listened to folks stories and laughed hysterically at everything!!! He's gonna come out stronger and determined to help others facing the same kind of thing.

39. The View lost our vote when it replaced Star with Rosie. Star stood for principles our country was built on, and Rosie's life style is not what Americans today are interested in. Barbara Walters started the show, should there be a problem with who is boss? We watched the show regularly until Rosie, but not now.

40. Please do not put barbara walters down. she has done much in her life and is still continuing to be a example for all. what are some of you doing with your life. rosie I respect as a person, just do not agree with her life style, but that is between her and God who is the answer to all things in the end. thank you.

41. Barbara has lost so much respect. It's so clear from the above comments. I suppose with her money she doesn't care. I cannot watch nor will I watch Rosie. she is ugly, brash, illiterate, and attempts to stir up controvery. Guess we'll never know why Barbara did this. Were it Ellen, I would watch. She is miles beyond what Rosie will ever be!!!

42. The whole View fiasco makes one wonder if the rumors about BW isn't true after all. Makes one believe that she & Rosie do indeed play for the same team.

Some people cannot stand a smart, strong, sexual black woman. (Or male either) As long as Star was celebate then she was accepted into the fold. But as soon as she blossomed with her sexualtiy she had to be put down, as it were.

Well, we will see who is the alpha male of the dirty duo ---- Barbara or Rosie.

43. Rosie,
You go girl! I have never been able to stomach the View until you showed up! You have taken a fluff fluff soccer mom show and made it real. It is something the rest of us can relate to. Keep up the good work!
