Lets Get This Party Started
"The View" -- Who Wears the Pants?

Make no mistake about it: Barbara Walters runs "The View," and if you don't believe it, just ask her. Sources connected with the show tell TMZ that Barbara is going out of her way to make it clear to everyone, including Rosie, that she's The Man. And that's one reason that Barbara has been on the show nearly every day since Rosie debuted. But it's utterly obvious to everyone connected with the show that Barbara is asserting herself to all and sundry both backstage and on the set.

By contrast, Rosie has been on her best behavior. Our spies say that, during commercials, her Rosie-ness navigates the audience, posing for pictures with audience members and generally playing nice. Barbara, on the other hand, has been all business, all power, all the time – and she wants to keep it that way.

Britney's Career In the Danger Zone?

Britney Spears wants to do everything she can to help hubby Kevin Federline get his hip-hop career off the ground, but music industry sources tell TMZ that in doing so she could be putting her own career in jeopardy. And even though she's reportedly contributing her voice to a duet called "Crazy" on K-Fed's album, the same sources say that doing that duet could seriously hurt Britney's prospects -- just like it did for Whitney Houston. "Not that [Britney] was churning out hits," says one recording-industry vet, "but it's very reminiscent of what happened to Whitney after the baby and 'Something in Common'."

Indeed, after Whitney and Bobby recorded that 1993 collaboration, Whitney -- who not a year earlier had put out one of the biggest singles of all time, "I Will Always Love You" -- never quite recovered. Besides her manifold personal problems, her musical production also stalled, and though she had two more #1 singles in the Nineties, she's fallen far from the glory of the Eighties and early Nineties. As for Britney, she doesn't have a musical mentor like Clive Davis to guide her through the rough creative patches, so it could be an ever rougher road ahead for Britney than for Whitney.

Eva and Tony Call It Quits – For Real

After a day of rumor, suggestion, and speculation, now it's official: Eva Longoria and NBA star Tony Parker are finished as a couple. "They did break up. It's amicable," says a source to People magazine. "It's distance and demanding careers and not living in the same city. It didn't happen yesterday. It's been going on for a while."

Earlier in the day, a source from the San Antonio Spurs, Parker's team, had said the break-up rumors weren't true, and Longoria's rep Liza Anderson had said that the two were "going through a very difficult time." The pair met in November 2004 and confirmed their coupledom by August 2005.

Party Favors: Scarlett Johansson Is "Sexiest Woman Alive" ... Robin Williams Says Mel Was "Wake-Up Call" ... "Nip/Tuck" Slices Into Scientology

Supplanting the bootylicious Jessica Biel as Esquire magazine's "Sexiest Woman Alive" is the curvaceous Scarlett Johansson. The 21-year-old actress isn't sure how she feels about the crown, however, and would like people to recognize her, um, renal attributes as well. "What about my brain?" she asks. "What about my heart? What about my kidneys and my gallbladder?" ... Robin Williams says that Mel Gibson's DUI arrest helped push him into getting help for his drinking problem. "If you're violating your standards faster than you can lower them, time to go away," he tells Access Hollywood. "Well, if (rehab) was good enough for him, I'll go." ... FX drama "Nip/Tuck" is pulling back the sheets on Scientology, says the LA Times, in its storylines this season, but it's not trying to skewer the often-controversial religion. Creator Ryan Murphy says he's not in the Church, but he was curious about it – and has educated his writing staff on the religion's tenets and beliefs.

61. I for one think that Rosie has made the view a far better show. Although she does talk about Kelly to much. Do not flaunt your sex prefrence. Keep Rosie, she has made the other women come alive. Joy is a joy now. Barbara should relize her age & retire. I have written every one of the women with no results. I thought rosie would @ least answer me . I guess they are all to busy. Good thing we arn't to busy to watch the show. With Rosie the view is worth watching. Britney should quite show business & be a full time mom with no nannie. Please get this to Paris. Girl you ain't sh- -. You have no & I mean no talent @ all. Go crawl under a rock & stay there . Eva is a skinny sleez. But her parents love her.

63. What idiot said there has to be a "man" in a group of women? This is a show created to express different points of view.... if you are THREATENED by others' opinions, go watch Sesame Street! Morons.

65. I always liked Rosy. She is real, even if sometimes brash, but anyone can come on and ACT lovely. She puts some zest into our life and something to think about whether we agree or not. There is room in this world for more than one oppinion and way of seeing things. Otherwise it would be a dull old world. Barbra is far from dull and I love it when she and Rosie spar. It makes for good programing and different ways for us to see what the world is all about. Of course Barbra is the boss. Thanks to her we have seen Viera and O'donnel. Joy is always a joy, also real.

66. Barbara really weakens the show. Merideith is surely missed,Star not so much.

They need to pick up another seat...maybe unknown, send Barbara home and see if they can get this show back on track.

Barbara just seem so awkward...does not shoot form the hip well...not any good at casual talk or opions...she is too scripted which maskes her seem like she tries to hard! She is not funny at all!

67. I feel bad for Eva Longoria. It was always obvious that she was WAY more into him than he was into her. But what was she thinking getting his name tattooed on her...and without even a single gesture of committment like living together, a ring, or SOMETHING!!! I could see their breakup comming from a mile away! Hopefully she'll be more carefull about professing her undying love for someone to the world (and herself) next time.

68. I was a dedicated viewer for most of the nine years The View has been on, until Meredith left. I was deeply disappointed upon hearing Rosie O,whats her name was coming inboard. Star Jones got my attention when she suddenly "bailed", ...smart lady. i would rather endure a root canal than to watch rosie O'Fatbutt for three seconds. She stands for everything that has been and is killing the American moral. I saw a class program go to zero overnight!

69. I am not particularly impressed with Rosie, although I do admire the fact that she and her partner have afforded four children a life replete with love and so many opportunities they never would have had. The paradox for me is why Rosie continues to ignore her own precarious health as she approaches mid life profoundly overweight? Can someone educate her on the risks inherent in obesity? If she doesn't care herself, then do it for those four little children. Granted it isn't easy, but when one takes time to contemplate the alternatives,--the worst of which is early death--it is serious!.

70. I will not watch the view. I can't stand Rosie, her big mouth reminds me of a big rubber band that stretches from east to west and north to south and it is moving constantly. The view is clearly nothing but a one-sided political " view". If they are going to use that show to express their political "views" then they should balance it out by having an equal number on each side,. I feel sorry for Elizabeth with the other four or five pouncing on her.

I used to admire and respect Barbara Walters but no more.

71. IIT ISN'T THE AGING TV VAGINASAUR, BARBARA WALTERS, THAT WEARS THE PANTS. A NO MORE TV ICON, WHOSE MOUTH JUST KEEPS ON TICKING! BATTERIES WEAR OUT, SO DO HASBEENS!.

IT ISN'T ROSIE O'DONNEL, EITHER!

WHEN IS ABC GOING TO FINNALY GET THE POINT?

IT'S THE AMERICAN VIEWING PUBLIC THAT WEARS THE PANTS.

IT ALSO HOLDS THE REMOTE CONTROL!

72. I HAVEN'T WATCHED THE VIEW, I LIKE JOY-AND BARB. ROSIE NEEDS TO BE THE HEAD. SHE DOESN'T HAVE A CUP LIKE THE OTHERS, WHAT DOES THAT SAY. SHE THINKS SHE IS ABOVE EVERYONE. WHY DOES SHE THINK SHE IS SO SPECIAL, HER BEING A MOTHER DOESN'T CHANGE THINGS.

73. I have seen the View many times and just don't know how this show is still on the air....With five women sitting there chatting over each other and giving their opinions is like sitting around a table with five old ladies who argue all the time about nothing.....I just think it is a waste of time and energy for this show to be on....When they had Star on I watched it hardly ever then when they put Rosie on well I saw it twice and don't have intentions of watching it anymore.....Good Luck!!

74. The view is so much better with Rosie. Barbara Walters does need to retire and I wouldn't mind if elizabeth left with her she is annoying. You have to love Joy though. I only started watching it again since she(Rosie) has been on, I am not the only one since ratings are up. And anyone who thinks they should bring Star back is ridicolous.

It doesn't matter if britney does the duet or whatever with K-fed, she really is washed up. She has turned grungy and dirty and just looks like trash these days. Nothing is going to change that.

It doesn't surprise me about Eva. I wouldn't appreciate her opening up her big mouth and telling everyone my personal business like she did Tony's.

75. ENOUGH with The View... Barbara thinks she's the only one in the show, I do like the show but without her, I din't like the day she went off Elisabeth because she was making her point on a subject, can't remember what it was. BARBARA SHOULD RETIRE!!! SHE IS SO FAKEEE
