Lets Get This Party Started
"The View" -- Who Wears the Pants?

Make no mistake about it: Barbara Walters runs "The View," and if you don't believe it, just ask her. Sources connected with the show tell TMZ that Barbara is going out of her way to make it clear to everyone, including Rosie, that she's The Man. And that's one reason that Barbara has been on the show nearly every day since Rosie debuted. But it's utterly obvious to everyone connected with the show that Barbara is asserting herself to all and sundry both backstage and on the set.

By contrast, Rosie has been on her best behavior. Our spies say that, during commercials, her Rosie-ness navigates the audience, posing for pictures with audience members and generally playing nice. Barbara, on the other hand, has been all business, all power, all the time – and she wants to keep it that way.

Britney's Career In the Danger Zone?

Britney Spears wants to do everything she can to help hubby Kevin Federline get his hip-hop career off the ground, but music industry sources tell TMZ that in doing so she could be putting her own career in jeopardy. And even though she's reportedly contributing her voice to a duet called "Crazy" on K-Fed's album, the same sources say that doing that duet could seriously hurt Britney's prospects -- just like it did for Whitney Houston. "Not that [Britney] was churning out hits," says one recording-industry vet, "but it's very reminiscent of what happened to Whitney after the baby and 'Something in Common'."

Indeed, after Whitney and Bobby recorded that 1993 collaboration, Whitney -- who not a year earlier had put out one of the biggest singles of all time, "I Will Always Love You" -- never quite recovered. Besides her manifold personal problems, her musical production also stalled, and though she had two more #1 singles in the Nineties, she's fallen far from the glory of the Eighties and early Nineties. As for Britney, she doesn't have a musical mentor like Clive Davis to guide her through the rough creative patches, so it could be an ever rougher road ahead for Britney than for Whitney.

Eva and Tony Call It Quits – For Real

After a day of rumor, suggestion, and speculation, now it's official: Eva Longoria and NBA star Tony Parker are finished as a couple. "They did break up. It's amicable," says a source to People magazine. "It's distance and demanding careers and not living in the same city. It didn't happen yesterday. It's been going on for a while."

Earlier in the day, a source from the San Antonio Spurs, Parker's team, had said the break-up rumors weren't true, and Longoria's rep Liza Anderson had said that the two were "going through a very difficult time." The pair met in November 2004 and confirmed their coupledom by August 2005.

Party Favors: Scarlett Johansson Is "Sexiest Woman Alive" ... Robin Williams Says Mel Was "Wake-Up Call" ... "Nip/Tuck" Slices Into Scientology

Supplanting the bootylicious Jessica Biel as Esquire magazine's "Sexiest Woman Alive" is the curvaceous Scarlett Johansson. The 21-year-old actress isn't sure how she feels about the crown, however, and would like people to recognize her, um, renal attributes as well. "What about my brain?" she asks. "What about my heart? What about my kidneys and my gallbladder?" ... Robin Williams says that Mel Gibson's DUI arrest helped push him into getting help for his drinking problem. "If you're violating your standards faster than you can lower them, time to go away," he tells Access Hollywood. "Well, if (rehab) was good enough for him, I'll go." ... FX drama "Nip/Tuck" is pulling back the sheets on Scientology, says the LA Times, in its storylines this season, but it's not trying to skewer the often-controversial religion. Creator Ryan Murphy says he's not in the Church, but he was curious about it – and has educated his writing staff on the religion's tenets and beliefs.

91. stopped watching the view - those high female voices are a bit too much.
they all talk at once - would prefer Barney Miller in this time slot.
too much of Ms. Walters on channel 7. She is not that important to
me or the world. Neither is Rosie. Am I supposed to be more interested in their lives than the young people serving in our military who are fighting to preserve their right to run off at the mouth? ho hum for the view.

93. Why did Barbara bring in Rosie , If she is going to be on everyday? She was hardly on when it was the other girls. She needs to do w hat she does best News and big interviews. She is a control freak and it is showing and becoming obnoxious. One can see Rosie is on edge. SHe has proved she can carry a show.
Barbara knew her style before she hired her. She needs to back off.
As for Britney and K-Fed. Who cares?
Too bad for Eva he is a hot man.
Scarlett is beautiful but hardly the sexiest woman alive... Try Sohpia Loren ..now there is a hot woman still at her age. There are way too many beautiful women to pick one out..

94. Barbara is a business woman. Rosie is not.
Barbara is a class act. Sharp -refined.
Rosie has nothing.
Hurt people, hurt people...Rosie

I do not watch the View since Rosie came aboard. She is repulsive.

95. the view needs to get rid of elizabeth, she thinks she's better than anyone, because she's married. she frowns on those that are not, plus she hates the gay community. the view should have kept star, you get rid of smart and keep a exile survivor contestant. merideth should have left a long time ago, you could see the pain in her face.

98. I'm done with The View. Just cannot take the overbearing, talking over of Rosie. Quite frankly, I'm not seeing any "toning down" which was aluded to. She is a time bomb, ticking, ticking, ticking.

99. Barbara Walters thinks she is the BIG CHEESE. It is difficult for her to say a sentence that isn't written on paper. Cannot understand how she continues to be on 20/20. She is a mousy dumb blonde. Rose has brought some life to the show. You can see that the others seem to enjoy the hour more since she has come aboard. If Barbara would just go away, it could be an ideal show. Even motor mouth Elisabeth has been better to endure since Rosie is there because Rose knows how to put a stopper in her mouth diplomatically. Barbara would not interupt Elizabeth because she did not know how without looking stupid herself (which she is quite capable of on her own.)

100. Yes! Rosie is a time bomb ticking...ticking....BOOM!!!!
It is shameful that she blatantly flaunts her lifestyle on national television. Her behavior when the former GOV of NJ was on was deplorable. She talked openly about her coming out, and the rapid fire discourse when the man was sitting on the panel, about his explicit detail of his 'sexual exploits' behind a Synagogue were unpleasant and unwarranted! They quickly cut to commercial and were out of that segment. Thank GOD! The Viewmaster should be whipped at a post and made to eat gruel for allowing such postering and flagrant behavior to go on. They just want to be accepted for who they love, when it is an abomination unto GOD. We have to pray for the Light of God's truth to penetrate their hearts. This is a sad time for national television networks.

101. I think the "View" is on it's way out. Rosie did not help it, she's a big mouth & "Know-it-all" and I can't stand the way they all get to talking at the same time. I would take Star Jones over Rosie any day. Barb thinks she's the boss, but Rosie is slowly taking over. She's just like that. She's pushy ,that's how she pushed her way into show business. And if Barb isn't careful she will push her right out on her butt.

102. 1. I never like Rosie....but to give credit where credit is due. She has been very professional. As I suspected she does tromp on the rest of the group from time to time, cutting into their points and thoughts. But for the most part her contributions are not as gender bigoted, and radically opinionated as they could be. Good job Rosie.

2. Eva.... All I can say is...you life is under glass. Take care and, don't let the bastards grind you down.

103. WHO CARES WHO WEARS THE PANTS? I AM TIRED OF THAT OLD RAG, BARBARA.
GOOD FOR TONY. EVA IS PURE TRASH!!!!!!!

104. Rosie was a bad choice for the View...let alone anything else in front of a camera. she has continued to be the self-centered, arrogant knows it all person..etcetera What's really a damn shame is that those people who are attracted to her have similar characteristics, so maybe it isn't only her?...

105. To quote Shakespeare: "Much ado about nothing" .....that's my take on The View.
