Celebrity Justice
Kim Basinger Arraigned

BREAKING NEWS: Kim Basinger has been arraigned on contempt charges. Former Hubby Alec Baldwin triggered the case by alleging that Kim is guilty of a laundry list of violations in their ongoing custody dispute. Among Baldwin's allegations -- that Basinger blocked his visitation rights, blocked his rights to speak with his daughter on the telephone and failed to notify him when the child suffered an injury.

Basinger pled not guilty through her lawyer, Neal Hersh. The actress did not appear for the arraignment.

The former couple has been locked in an epic custody battle over 10-year-old Ireland. Baldwin has alleged Basinger is thwarting his ability to parent. Basinger has said, right back at you, Alec.

Basinger faces 12 counts of contempt. Each count carries a maximum penalty of $1,000.

32. mr & mrs Baldwin (F.A.G.) (Ghu, I love 'Team America'!) were never sufficiently beaten as children - who wants to help them catch-up now?

33. Having experienced this first hand in my daughter's divorce and custody
hearings I can tell you that this is not good for the children. Usually it
has to do with "control" issues with the fathers. Experts and cops have
told us the behaviors are consistant. If you saw Dr. Phil show today it
was on custody issues. If only they can just see clear to put the children's
needs and wishes first.

34. I am now the most normal Baldwin.
Be afraid - be very afraid!

35. These two are past pathetic, they are all that parents should not be. For the sake of the child they should show respect to each other regardless of their personal problems for the emotional health of their child. They will one day truly regret their assinine behavior, any family court judge will confirm that!!

36. As much as I can't stand Alec Baldwin and think he is the epitomy of scum the bottom line is he is a Father. None of the posters here (myself included) have a clue as to the facts of this case yet many espouse that he shouldn't have access to his biological daughter. Regardless of whether you think he is a scumbag this is his daughter. If in fact his ex wife is legitimately interfering with that relationship and the only recourse he has is to press charges then good for him.

How man unwed mothers who cant care for their children could be so lucky.

To the angry mothers, get a grip. To the deadbeat dads, get a clue.

37. We can't assume the allegations against Basinger are true. Baldwin has a history of somewhat violent behavior.....so it is likely that he is an abuser. Many abusers are also extremely manipulative. Baldwin is controlling and thus is fighting for custody..............a manipulative and common move is to claim the ex is blocking visits, etc. - because if it is true then custody usually automatically turns over to the maligned parent. I was a victim of domestic violence and my ex has kept me in court for 14 years now.......there are abusers who are relentless as mine is....as may be the case here too. There is something the relentless abusers typically have called NPD - Narcissictic Personality Disorder. These are people who believe everything must revolve around them....and they can often be violent when they don't get their way. I would not presume the two are fighting...but that Baldwin keeps on the attack. The system presumes it is two...when often it is one attacking relentlessly and making horrible baseless attacks.

38. Lawyer you hit the nail right on the head. I don't understand how most of you believe you know the inds and outs of the situation here. Just because Kim is gorgeous means nothing; neither does Alec's weight. His family situation has nothing to do with Kim's preventing him from seeing his daughter. So, go about your business and let the courts straighten it out. You don't know anything about their private lives.

39. I hope both these people will for the sake of their daughter...GET IT TOGETHER!!!

ALEC...MAYBE YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO YOUR BROTHER AND GET THE SPIRIT OF FORGIVNESS...KIM...STOP WANTING TO "WIN"...THINK OF YOUR KID NOT YOURSELF. THE ONLY ONE WHO IS SUFFERING IS YOUR DAUGHTER...PATHETIC!!!

40. My thoughts and prayers go out to Ireland. I wish her parents would not have to put this innocent child through their problems, she did not ask for it. As a women, I would tend to go toward Kim's (the Mom's) side and ask Alec (the Father) to stop his "attacking" the Mother of his daughter, especially since they are in the lime light...let her be. One day, she will decide and heaven help - she will make the right decision. May God bless all of you.

41. Public feuding is bad for the child. Because they are celebrities we hear about this fighting. But it is very common problem. I have experienced the same contempuous behavior from my children's mother. Blocked phone calls, denied visits, deliberately withheld information on the children's welfare and health.. all of it... the bias towards mothers is endemic and pandemic in the Family Law system. Women are not a privileged class... and they must be subject to the same harsh sanctions that Fathers/Men are...! Equal Rights for Dads! CSC - LA

42. Hurting there daughter and selfish???? Come on now. Put it in its proper context...

We live in a society that's chosen to regularly murder babies without anything more than the mother's want for a do-over and we call it "her right". Talk about selfish. Where's the father's rights in any of this or the child's rights in any of this??? And we accept a judicial system that doesn't even know how to follow the constitution (and why we need J.A.I.L.) and regularly dismisses due process and equal protection like in this case where on temporary orders sole custody went directly to who else but the woman. Baby killing and misandry are in vogue and you expect reasonable actions from the father??? That's simply nuts. To expect a reasonable outcome from an unreasonable system is just irrational! So far what Alec has done seems pretty reasonable considering how his constitutional rights have already been violated. His behavior needs to be commended. Divorce is an insance process run amuck in a country by too many shady attorneys for whom the typical sole custody award system is a cash cow for them and the misandrist feminists like the National Organization for Women. This country is shamefully not the greatest democracy on Earth but the greatest hypocracy on Earth! Even mothers have far more to fear from our own judiciary these days than anyone has to fear of Al-Quida wherein at a whim the judge can strip any of their inalienable right to raise their own children without so much as even due process that must treat people as innocent till proven guilty. But we shake at the thought of some 5,000 dead in NYC while we barely shudder over 2005 marking the passing of 47,000,000 baby murders allowed by our supreme court and pushed for by organizations like the N.O.W..

Think of it this way: would you rather have taxation without representation or be denied your own children??? As far as I'm concerned, I'd much rather have taxation without representation and our legislaters should take note of how increasingly Americans are realizing that stripping us of parental rights is the worst form of terrorism around and must stop.

43. Alec is just like JR EWING! Subborn old fool...you can't take away a child from the mother! it's jsut cruel!

44. Alec is a control freak and shows CLEAR signs of abusive behaviour.Which is something people want to hush in society.Because he is a celebrity does not make him immuned. If he was any kind of REAL father,he would get help.HE is the one who is continuing the friction, and ongoing battle fighting for HIS right to have COMPLETE CONTROL,not parental rights, regardless on how it effects the child. If the courts would WAKE of to behaviuor patterns of abuse they would see Alec is a unreasonable person, and it is NOT uncommon for abusers to try to make the other parent look "crazy".The FBI has profilers for a reason, maybe the courts should as well.Enough is Enough already.Think of the kid Alec.Get your head out of your self absorbed ass.Therapy for ALL parties should be in motion ASAP before their is damage to the child.BOTH the mother AND the father are important in the childs life. When one party is immpossible to deal with,it makes it difficult to come to any conclusions.PLEASE come to some agreements for thie child.SHE IS the one who suffers. The courts NEED to see the TRUTH and SEE things for what they really are.Quit sugar coating it all.

45. Alec is a pure deluxe dirt bag.
Kim was an idiot for breeding with pure deluxe dirt bag.
Nothing can change the past so I hope Kim gets to keep full custody.

pay his bills and be a friggin dad-not the whiney bitch he is.
