Kim Basinger Arraigned

BREAKING NEWS: Kim Basinger has been arraigned on contempt charges. Former Hubby Alec Baldwin triggered the case by alleging that Kim is guilty of a laundry list of violations in their ongoing custody dispute. Among Baldwin's allegations -- that Basinger blocked his visitation rights, blocked his rights to speak with his daughter on the telephone and failed to notify him when the child suffered an injury.

Basinger pled not guilty through her lawyer, Neal Hersh. The actress did not appear for the arraignment.

The former couple has been locked in an epic custody battle over 10-year-old Ireland. Baldwin has alleged Basinger is thwarting his ability to parent. Basinger has said, right back at you, Alec.

Basinger faces 12 counts of contempt. Each count carries a maximum penalty of $1,000.

46. I think it's none of our business...any of it.

47. ALEC! I know you must read this, so this is for you. When a Father does anything to hurt a childs Mother, a child will never forget, and they will grow up hating their Father. When your daughter grows up and she will hear and read about all the anger you have and all the mean things you say and do - Do you really think that she will trust and want to be with you? I think not.

48. Kim is definitely in violation. She ought to be made to hand over the kid to Alec. She deserves to be fined. Give her visitation rights once a month providing she does not violate any custody conditions. Peace.

49. Mark P. is right! Alec and Kim's custody problems, like everything else in the world -- including the fact that I stubbed my toe yesterday -- is George W. Bush's fault! How nice it must be to have a scapegoat for every single negative feeling one has.

50. Oh, Kimmy, Kimmy, how far have you fallen! I warned her against wedding that creep Alec Baldwin. He's just a very vile and temperamental fellow. If only she was here with me now, I would sooth her brow and ply her with various intoxicating beverages.

51. by the time these 2 idiots get done bickering through the court system, their daught will be 18 and able to ditch them both. hopefully she wont grow up and follow the cycle and end up just as screwd up as her parents. if i was the judge i would put them both through extensive parenting classes and if they continued this behavior.id hold them both in contempt !the kids better off without the both of them.

53. Alex is NOT being slammed for being a guy---look at his actions!! He is a control FREAK and total A**HOLE to even those he works with!! I can only hope that one day he will realize his stupidity for his treatment of his daughter's mother. Girls basically gravitate towards their Daddies...UNTIL they hear their mommies being slammed. I do not see him being in Irealand's life when she is an adult if he doesn't get some counseling for his anger. You can malign someone to a child only until they grow up and can figure out the facts for themselves. Both parents are wrong for fighting like this in front of their child but when one parent is ABUSIVE (verbally and physically--Alex(?)..) then THEY are the ones that should be held accountable first....He has made quite the spectical of himself over the years and seems to think that it is ok because nothing has really happened to him for it like it would to others out of the "Hollywood protected society".. fame and money can do wonders...forgive statements made.."If Bush is elected President, I will leave America"...accidents forgiven or "forgotten" to be prosecuted (anyone old enough to remember Chappaquiddick and Teddy Kennedy's MAJOR ROLL)...little things like that?? Well, Mr. Baldwin has the same status and so figures that this will never affect his daughter evidently because he is hell bent on going after her mom. Why doesn't he just channel that anger into going about getting the help he needs so the courts will be on his side? Grow up Alex, get the help Steven did.....

54. being a divorced mother of three daughters and grandmother to five grandchildren, i would like to suggest to the parents of ireland that she is something that the two of them will have in common for the rest of their lives, so why not put all animosities aside and concentrate on raising a beautiful daughter that yoou can both be proud of. my ex and i agreed to remain friends and it has made everyones life a lot easier. best of luck to all concerned.

55. Jeanne, great comment!

Funny how the liberal media covers up Alec Baldwin's explosive rant of stoning Harry Hyde and his family to death! Or of Rosie O'Lardazz's condemnation of guns while having ARMED bodyguards to protect her ponderous bulk.

56. Maybe we could make a movie in witch Alec Baldwin is killed by a crazed fan. Then follow how much better Kim and his daughters life would be in the future. Our's as well because we would not have to ever see him on TV or in a movie again. And just think no more of his liberal views to be heard again. But we all know it's not his fault it is George Bush's fault. Why does the President have to cause so much trouble in our lives? I mean the economys up, the stock market is up, we have not had a terrorist attck since 9-11 in this country, no more hurricanes have hit us this year (like the global warming bozo's said would), and gas prices are down. How much more can we take?

57. Both of you, please take care of your daughter first and work with each other.
She needs both of you, both of you are in the spot/light for life, but keep her life to yourselves. Hire people to oversee and control your daughters fate if you can't.
The most important thing to remember is to love her.

58. I thought Alec was going to leave the country when the President was elected. I wish he would leave already.

59. This man's temper and abusive nature are legendary. He has MAJOR problems and I'm sure we don't even know the half of it. A mother has to do what she has to do to protect her child. If he got some therapy, maybe she would share custody with him and the poor daughter could have a normal relationship with her parents.

60. Everything I have ever heard and read is that Alec is a SUPREME ASS with a temper. Maybe the little girl does not want togo to her fathers. Maybe she is afraid of his temper. No court in the world would force me to force my daughter to go somewhere or talk to somewhere she is afraid of. Keep fighting Kim.
