Madonna has reportedly added another member to her brood and adopted a one-year-old boy from the impoverished African country of Malawi.
The mother of two chose the boy from a group of 12 children that were specially chosen from four orphanages prior to her arrival. And you thought getting into Hyde was difficult!
A Malawian government official said Madonna had wanted a girl but changed her mind two weeks ago. Princess Lourdes can rest easy.
Her Madgesty has pledged $3 million to fund the Raising Malawi center which will support programs for 1000 orphans, many who have lost their parents to AIDS. Madonna will also fund another $1 million for a documentary about the plight of the nation's children.
As of yet, there is no word on the baby's name.
But now Madge's camp is saying the adoption has not taken place.
Her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, told Us Weekly "I can confirm Madonna is in Malawi on a private visit. She is building an orphanage and child care center and is involved in other initiatives geared toward helping children orphaned by AIDS thru the Raising Malawi organization. She has not adopted a baby despite reports that she has."

I would like to believe that Madonna is adopting out of her heart and not publicity.madonna does not need to adopt a child for publicity she already had that way before this . For all those people posting here that are negetive about this little boy David being adopted ask yourself this "What have I done in the 6 month that has opened the door for a young child to education , medical treatment ,love, ?" you can say that his father loved him but all this child knows is that everyone from his mother to his brother and sisters are dying or dead already from aides. Just little companionship should be showed here!!!
Madonna is a has been seeking publicity. The father wants the child back and misunderstood. If she TRULY wanted to help poor children in poor countries give 10 million dollars, food, medicine. It will help more than ONE child.
The nanny is already raising the kid. Madonna is a joke.
Madonna did a terrific thing in daving little daving uder whatever circumstances they settled on to appease tribal laws.
Her birth children are healthy and happy and david will be too!
Wheather adoption or fostering if you can change the negative situations in a childs life they can fleurish & be happy producing lovely work for their class.

Madonna is shining a ray of light on motherhood and the many plights of Africa,way beyond funding she raises the bar by bringing little David in her home. What a blessing.! I am truly sorry more is not done hear at home with ou mainland people adopting out of american institutiond they make it so hard everyone goes to china guatemala & russia.
Irregardless save all the children from a sub par exisistence it should have been rendered obsoulete the holding tanks theese kids live in
Why are people complaining about madonna being a hero and taking up a good cause? The sad thing about this is the fact that if the baby would have been forsaken by madonna it would die and people that spoke against madonna would have nothing to say because they are selfish and only care for themselves!!
