Babs' F-Bomb More Powerful Than Nuclear Bomb

Barbra StreisandAs the world copes with the news of North Korea's alleged nuclear testing, there's another explosive event making an even bigger impact in the international community -- Barbra Streisand's F-Bomb.

It all went down during a bit in Streisand's concert in New York City last night, which featured a humorous routine with a George Bush impersonator -- similar to this clip obtained by TMZ. The act drew a few jeers and heckles from the crowd. and after imploring the audience to "be polite" failed, Babs shot back, "Shut the f**k up! Shut up if you can't take a joke!" Oh, Snap!

But the news of Barbra Streisand telling the heckler to "shut the f**k up" isn't just news here in the States -- apparently Babs is big in Africa and Malaysia, too.

We spoke to Streisand's publicist Ken Sunshine earlier today, and he told us that he's gotten interview requests from press outlets in those places and beyond.

"There seems to be a lot of interest about one comedic part of a long show. But when anyone buys a ticket to a Streisand show, they're getting the greatest voice in the world and someone whose politics are very clear," Sunshine told TMZ.

But if you think a little heckling is gonna get the "Yentl" star down, think again. "The bit with the Bush impersonator is comedy, everyone knows it's comedy," Sunshine said. "There are always a healthy percentage of Republicans at her shows, they know her politics. They go for the music, the fun, and the performance. Barbra is obviously unfazed by the incident."

The lesson, as always: Don't f**k with Babs.

62. Anyone who is a fan of Babra knows she's very political; all you have to do is visit her official website, and it's nothing but political tirades against Bush. I'm a Democrat, and don't always agree with everything she says, but I also know if I go to a Streisand concert, watch an interview with her, etc., I know that's what I'm going to expect. She's never been one to be conventional, nor back down from her views, and even though I don't agree with everything she says, I respect her right to express them. The whole skit, lame as it was, was just a parody--that's all. She basically told him to lighten up--Brooklyn style, that is. She also did apologize, which for someone with Barbra's ego, is a big deal.

65. Although, it does suck to be a Republican HAG too, I must say.
I would know, I am in therapy for it.

67. Barbara has every right to express her political views. But there is a time and place for everything. From what I've read and heard about this, the Bush Comedy Skit is a new element that she has added on her 3rd or 4th or 5th "Farewell Tour".

So for many people who may know about Barbara politics, the Bush Skit was a brand new element that wasn't there before. If she wants to be political, that's fine, do it at the proper time and place. They people there paid for a concert, not for a lecture about politics from Babs.

68. Caroline you are so classy! Move to another country...you are just an ingrate! You need to have respect for your country and yes that includes the free worlds leader! GROW UP! Democrat, republican...whatever show some respect and gratitude!

69. Wow, you are all so mean-spirited. Is it just me, or is this not really a big deal? ANYONE who listens to Barbra must expect some politics as part of the deal. I happen to agree that hers is the voice of the century and I also staunchly agree with her politics. But, more importantly, I agree with her right to freedom of speech and expression. She has nothing to apologize for and I hope she keeps on keepin' on!

71. Did you not read the article?
Her comment had nothing to do with politics, or her political view...she made no political comment, did not voice a political opinion...It was a heckler...who cheered, or jeered...the Bush impersonator.......she told the heckler " shut the f+++ up".
Wow....you people are so uptight ...there's no spin on the comment ...so quit trying to make it in to something , other than the facts.... Your confused with Natalie Maines.....The Dixie Chicks

74. Not true at all, JT. I don't need to have respect for anyone if I don't want to, it's the beauty of the freedom in this country. It also gives me the right to say what I want about anyone in power.
I am in no way an ingrate or ungrateful, I am very grateful for what I know I have, but that doesnt mean I have to be respectful towards someone I utterly dislike and believe doesn't have my best interest at heart.
Telling me to move to another country? How ignorant.

Posted at 2:08PM on Oct 11th 2006 by Caroline

75. what a stupid thing to say, jt. if someone doesn't agree with you they have to move out of the country? one of the great things about america is the fact that people can express their opinion when and where they want. how dare you question someone's gratitude and call them an "ingrate" because their beliefs differ from yours? you sound like you just popped out of the 1950's, mccarthy style.
