McDreamy Feud: Behind the Scenes

TMZ has the inside dirt on a feud between Patrick Dempsey and Isaiah Washington that bubbled over on the "Grey's Anatomy" set this week.

According to the NY Daily News' Rush & Molloy, Washington said "some disgusting things" and got in Dempsey's face. The National Enquirer kicked it up a notch, reporting that Washington had shoved Dempsey and choked him.

Now TMZ has new details on the dust up. We're told by sources on the ABC lot where the show is taped that production was abruptly halted yesterday. One spy says Dempsey and co-star Ellen Pompeo went to the commissary and were seen "whispering" for a while, and then Dempsey went outside and sat by himself.

One of Washington's friends tells a TMZ spy that the relationship between Isaiah and Patrick is "tense." The friend went on to say that Washington thinks Dempsey's "nice guy image is a bit of an act."

It appears execs on "Grey's" don't have a quick fix in mind. Show creator Shondra Rhimes was seen wandering around the lot during the time production was stopped.

just whats needed another show where egos run the show. And if dempsey is being an a**hole he needs to stop but theres no reason to go beating him. The whole cast needs to STICK TOGETHER and NOT tear each other down. if dempsey leave Grey has no more ANATOMY and i dont think fans want that. i couldnt care less tho i hate this show

17. I think Isaiah is jealous that Patrick gets most of the attention. There is bound to be hard feelings because after all, Isaiah is a theatre trained actor with a BA in Fine Arts from a prestigious university while Patrick is an 11th grade drop out. On the other hand, 12 million women are not tuning in to see Dr. Preston Burke. Isaiah strikes me as the ultimate professional, but he should just chill and thank his lucky stars that he is on a hit show.

What is up with this sh*t about choosing a " team". How about having both of these idiot actors grow up, move on and do the only thing they know how to do - ACT!. Now as far as being on a team, if you're going to choose a team, how about choosing the only winning one- " Team GOD"

19. What is the truth here? Let me tell you, they both have ego's. Washington has been known to get jealous easily if he isn't the center of attention, and the other is a prick. He thinks that he is God's gift to woman. You can have them both. That is Hollywood for you and who cares?

23. Wow what a bunch of racist hicks- There are some nice black GENTLEMEN just like there are trashy white guys. One race is no better than the other because of their skin color- its all in how you present yourself. I think Patrick Dempsey got REALLY hot after his movie Cant buy me love- he was such a dork in that movie- but oh boy did he over come that awkward stage. As for Isaiah Washington- he is not a bad looking black man- no LL Cool J- but hes far from ugly. I can see how any of them could become cocky- their show is a raging success- but if they dont get their egos in check, the show wont last.

25. Whether he likes it or not, McDreamy and Meredith are the stars of the show. Washington better get his attitude straight otherwise he will be looking for another job! Everybody can't be a star, but be grateful for the job you have!!! I mean what were you doing before you got this job? Busting tables?

26. What is so hot about Patrick Demsey? So overrated. I would rather see Ellen Pompeo's character go with the Vet. He is super cute and nice. I love Isaiah and he is not ugly. He is good looking and he would kick Dempsey's butt any day. I like this show but I am afraid that if these disputes keep up, it will go downhill. Check your egos at the door people and do the job you were all hired for. Acting.
