Celebrity Feuds
McDreamy Feud: Behind the Scenes

TMZ has the inside dirt on a feud between Patrick Dempsey and Isaiah Washington that bubbled over on the "Grey's Anatomy" set this week.
Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey
According to the NY Daily News' Rush & Molloy, Washington said "some disgusting things" and got in Dempsey's face. The National Enquirer kicked it up a notch, reporting that Washington had shoved Dempsey and choked him.

Now TMZ has new details on the dust up. We're told by sources on the ABC lot where the show is taped that production was abruptly halted yesterday. One spy says Dempsey and co-star Ellen Pompeo went to the commissary and were seen "whispering" for a while, and then Dempsey went outside and sat by himself.

One of Washington's friends tells a TMZ spy that the relationship between Isaiah and Patrick is "tense." The friend went on to say that Washington thinks Dempsey's "nice guy image is a bit of an act."

It appears execs on "Grey's" don't have a quick fix in mind. Show creator Shondra Rhimes was seen wandering around the lot during the time production was stopped.

31. As a straight male I honestly have no clue how to judge the looks of men or understand what women find attractive- so I won't try to . I know Patrick Dempsey was somewhat popular playing a teenager in his 20s then seemed to disappear. He still looks and sounds the same ( like he never went through puberty) except sometime in his 30s he started growing facial hair and now rocks the stubble.

I don't know about his looks, but Washington has been a working actor for a long time. In the late 90s-2000s I saw him on the screen much more than Demspey. I mean the guy was playing a lead role in a movie alongside and directed by Clint Eastwood like 7-8 years ago. Bussing tables? WTF..What was Dempsey doing from 1990-2005 other than 7th billing in movies like "Outbreak" and that Reese Witherspoon movie?

32. I have never read so many stupid comments Dempsey does not make the show it's not patricks world Patrick on Sponge Bob looks better and he has'nt had plastic surgery. For you ignorant females there are black gentleman if you are a real woman and not a trick you'de find them but I am sure they are hiding from you. Don't insult my brothers! Isaiah Washington is a very accomplished actor so don't get it misconstrued for the Gina's that twisted. Remember follow the storyline line Patricks replacement is already on the show the sexy dog whisperer don't forget the writer is black, and Isaiah is a fine ass black GENTLEMAN

33. I met Patrick Dempsey in person and he REALLY IS a nice guy.Apparently Isaiah
hasa chip on his shoulder and some emotional baggage that he's brought with him to the set of Greys Anatomy.Whatever problems he's had in his life he thinks everyone is out to get him and that there are'nt any good people around.Well, there are! Patrick is a sweet man and Isaiah is pretty dumb to be so unprofessional and mean...mean spirited !
And no, I am not Patrick Dempsey !

34. For Gina and Rebecca....black gentlemen do exist and are not that rare as you both might have everyone believe....my husband, brother, father and grandfather are all gentlemen (holding the door open, providing for their families...etc.)...maybe you should stop watching reruns of "Cops" because this is all media propaganda to make the black race always look bad....by the way I'm an adopted half Korean half black female....and oh yes black people actually are willing and able to take in an orphaned baby and raise and love as their own...WOW...go figure...none of the above mentioned men in my family have ever 1. taken drugs 2. beaten their wives or kids 3. not provided for their families 4. killed anyone or robbed anyone......

36. #15 Black gentlemen DO exist in America contrary to what you may have heard.

37. Snoopy:

I think you should read my comments again. I said my daughter met Ellen Pompeo and her boyfriend, a black gentlemen. That is exactly what I meant. Some other poster stated that black and gentlemen don't go together. I then posted to correct their statement. Please don't put me in with the idiots that are obviously racist hicks. Thank you.

40. Those of you who are making the racist comments should stop and think that maybe those blackmen who are not gentlemen are partly the way they are because of racist perceptions like your own that give black people chips on their; and is it just me or do others believe that people should wait until full stories are made public before assigning blame?

41. If this report is true, it is very unfortunate. The show is a great success and is written, directed and of course acted in brilliantly. I think it is a sad day when people get together and argue over who would win in a fight. I think some of you should think about using spell check though. And how about not using words you just don't know the meanings of. Oh and by the way the racial era is sooo over.

42. Keep george, izzy and Sandra Oh (can't remember her character's name) and kick the rest of them to the curb.

43. I don't think Dempsey is stunningly hot, he is the "star" of the show however... So i think he and Washington should kiss and make up. However if Washington said something bad about my "friend" george there should be some ass kickin! George is the Underdog and EVERYONE has to love the underdog!

Also has no one heard of "the Brat Pack"? Dempsey was huge in all those 80's flicks...He was somebody, then he faded, and now he's back.

44. I think that both of the men are exceptional actors. Sometimes you get egos in the way but as far as them leaving or get kicked off I think they are both important as the other

45. WHILE PEOPLE ON THIS BLOG ARE GOING ON AND ON ABOUT WHICH ONE IS BETTER LOOKING, OR WHICH ONE HAS MORE STAR POWER, OR WHICH ONE HAS BEEN ON TV LONGER,ETC., IT HAS ALREADY BEEN REPORTED THAT THE TWO HAVE SETTLED THEIR DIFFERENCES AND ARE BACK TALKING TO EACH OTHER. AS A MATTER OF FACT BECAUSE THEY WERE UP IN EACH OTHERS FACE, WASHINGTON LATER TOLD DEMPSEY THAT HE DIDN’T REALIZE THAT HE HAD PRETTY BLUE EYES. IT’S AMAZING HOW THESE BLOGS BRINGS ALL KINDS OUT OF THE WOODWORKS AND SHOW THEIR TRUE COLOR BECAUSE THEY CAN HIDE BEHIND A COMPUTER SCREEN. IF YOU GOT MOST OF THEM FACE TO FACE, THEY WOULD PROBABLY RUN LIKE SCARED RABBITS.
