More Problems for Rockstar Supernova

Rockstar SupernovaMagni and Storm Large, two finalists in the top 5 on the CBS reality show "Rockstar: Supernova," have been essentially fired from the opening act on the upcoming Rockstar Supernova tour.

This is just the latest controversy to besiege Tommy Lee's new band, Rockstar Supernova, since the reality show wrapped production last month.

First a California punk band claimed rights to the name Supernova and sought an injunction to halt the television act from performing or recording under the "Supernova" brand, unless they changed or added words to the name. A San Diego judge ruled in favor of the punk band and forced the CBS backed group to find a new moniker. For once Davey trumped Goliath!

Tommy Lee and the rest of the band, including the show's winner Lukas Rossi, changed the name to Rockstar Supernova.

With a tour scheduled to begin on New Year's Eve in Vegas, the bill's opening act was to include The Panic Channel, host Dave Navarro's latest band, as well as, fellow contestants Toby Rand, Dilana, Magni, Storm Large and the program's House Band.

But now TMZ has learned that due to financial reasons Magni, Storm Large and the House Band have been kicked off the tour. Toby and Dilana are still on board (thank God!), but will now be backed by Toby Rand's Australian group Juke Kartel. Evs!

Though this is sure to be a blow to Storm Large and Magni, who is already a bona fide sensation in his native Iceland, the real question is how fans will react to the news.

And while Magni and Storm will be sorely missed, we're still hoping they add the ever unpredictable and fabulous Zayra Alvarez to the bill.

A call to Rockstar Supernova's record label was not immediately returned.

31. Tommy Lee should have stayed with Motley Crue. The only reason why this asswipe woman beater got back in the spotlight from the '80s is because he hooked up with Pam. This band will fall flat before it even starts.

32. The only reason we were gonna buy tickets was to see Dilana, Storm & the HouseBand & of course Dave. Now that's all been scratched.... Why should we buy tickets???? Why would they replace Storm, Magni & houseband for Zayra ???
Another mistake???? I agree with the above statement, That Storm, Magni, Dilana & the houseband should go out on tour! They would outsell SN everytime !!

34. Actually I've been listening to Lukas' original material a lot lately - and some of it is absolutely awesome! He really does have an amazing voice.. that just sounds better the more you listen to it. There's no doubt in my mind that SN made the right choice.

Dilana should do well on her own as she has a great set of pipes.

35. The house band is going out on tour with Paul Stanley. That ws announced even before RS:SN ended. That should tell that either SN isn't paying enough or that the house band doesn;'t think well of the upcoming tour.

36. Well I for one am slightly thankful that my girl Storm doesn't HAVE to go on the ridiculous tour. It would have taken too much of her time to go do a bunch of silly cover songs and not even have her Balls there to back her up properly. And as far as RSSN goes, we all know that their success will be short lived if even lived at all, so have fun boys the rides almost over!

37. I think this was an awful thing to do to Storm, Magni, and the Houseband. Also an awful thing to do to their fans. I don't know the real reason this happened but lots of people bought tickets just for Storm, Magni, and or the Houseband and now they feel ripped off. Those tickets weren't cheap. I am not a fan of "rockstar supernova" the band, but I watched the whole season and I am a fan of particular entertainers that appeard on the show. Supernova's songs are bad, the lyrics are awful, nobody cares about Gilby Clarke, and I really think "Rockstar Supernova" is going to be a flash in the pan at best. I feel bad for Jason Newsted and Dave Navarro having to be associated with them at all because they clearly will have careers after this, So will alot of the rockers, But fans will remember being burned and won't forget.

38. I bought tickets mainly becasuse I wanted to see Storm play the big venue. I was also very excited about the house band & magni. I am now not going I sold my tickets at half of face value just to get rid of them. I may have been a fan of theirs or may not have after the show. But now after the false advertising and being duped ny the show nad the band...I will support them in NO way EVER!
Shame on you Rockstar Supernova.

39. I I cant believe this first they (supernova) pick a bad singer to front their band and now this. I watched that show every week I was very disapointed. The only reason I would go to one of their shows is to see Toby, whom I think was by far the best singer . I hope Toby goes all the way with his music career and goes much farther then Supernova and their singer Lucas.

41. If you have any doubts about the talent of RSN we'll see you in vegas on New Years eve. Talk to me after the show. C'mon who's better than Tommy? Remember John Bonham is no longer with us.R.I.P

42. My Concern: Lukas is staying with Tommy!! Talk about BAD INFLUENCES!!!!!Maybe Lukas will think he is the next to go if he doesn't do what Tommy wants. I know Lukas needs this gig, but I worry for him! I worry that Tommy will destroy him!! I worry that Tommy will get Lukas into drugs, or make him his own personal little f*** puppet. I wish Jason had not gotten hurt. He seemed to care about Lukas, and not just himself, like Tommy!!

43. It's questionable as to whether this story is correct, given that this tour info/update doesn't appear anywhere on the official Tommy Lee website, nor on his MySpace, nor on that of Lucas Rossi. It's also questionable that TMZ got the facts right considering they missed a much, much bigger problem concerning Supernova, in that ex-Metallica/current Voi-Vod bassist, Jason Newsted, is now OFF the tour, due to injury of BOTH arms. Newsted attempted to catch a 90-lb pound bass-head as it fell unexpectedly from atop an amp, tearing the bicep and rotator cuff in his right arm and the anterior labrum in his left (or vice versa). Bottom line, the injuries he sustained required immediate surgery. Proposed rehab therapy to get both arms back to 100% once again is expected to sideline the bassist for upwards of 9 months. TMZ also missed the follow up story that Tommy Lee has replaced Jason with ex- Black Crowes bassist - Johnny Colt.

Whether or not the Storm/Magni story is true, it's interesting to me to read the comments listed beneath Supernova's posting. It's laughable that people who have no virtually no claim to fame, are so quick to rain on the parade of others that have made their mark in the music world and have done it in a big way. For a career that is sagging, as someone said, Tommy Lee sure is busy these days - on tour with the Crue/Aerosmith, an upcoming tour with Supernova, his electronica/DJ work in various North American clubs, and playing on a handful of tracks for the band "Fuel", to name but a few of his recent stints. Comments like those from "Hey Stupid" are the most laughable of all - not only does the mere wording suggest that this person never finished school, if even started, but it is painfully obviously that 'Stupid' doesn't know the first thing about the very man is trying so hard to slag. Anyone who hasn't been living under a rock knows that Tommy Lee has 2 sons. Perhaps it's best to do some research before exposing who the true "Hey Stupid" really is.

44. It is definitely disappointing that Magni and Storm will not be there. However, I am soooooo looking forward to seeing Rockstar Supernova.....Lukas ROCKS! I'll be joining the party at the Pepsi Arena in ALbany, NY in January. Tommy is a cool dude and he and Lukas have a great rapore! Why everyone has to be so negative is way beyond my comprehension. "Me thinks though doest protest too much"!
