46. Ok, first off you guys are completely mean and rude. I have no idea what Janets new cd sounds like, and I am sure its good but its the same old stuff. Sex, Sex, Sex, and maybe a little love. Granted love is everlasting but you have to reinvent it and the same goes for sex. And to the person #3 you're totally wrong. The days of super groups and artist are not over. #1 Madonna is anything but a low seller. Not only is she the highest paid female musical artist but her record sales were not bad ither on "Confessions" not to mention many other artist both young and older who's albums are still continuing to sell well even within the days of download. You guys need to stop the harsh words and lighten up. Express yourselves, yes but do it in a more kinder and constructive way. Calling the woman a bitch and you don't even know her is just sad.

48. I find it interesting that everyone is so ready to call Janet a has been. I also find it equally interesting that the most heinous comments have been and are coming from women. Jealous much? I'm not a huge Janet fan, but you know what, give her the respect she deserves for even bothering to put out an album in the age we live in. Janet could simply sit back and enjoy the fruits of her labor but she contiunes to do it for the love of it. Say what you want about her style of singing but answer me this: When a Janet song comes on do you not immediately know and recognize the voice as being her's?? Thank you. Janet is a brand. You recognize it being her the moment you hear it. Has been or not, that in itself warrants respect.

I'll be glad with pop radio and mtv get over this grudge. until then i'll enjoy my copy of the cd.

50. Whitney Houston had Bobby Brown...And now Janet has Jermaine Dupri to try and destroy her career. These men do not have their best interests in mind...a sad indictment but true. Janet Jackson's new album is fully lacking in good hooks...in fact there are no real hooks at all to speak of...and her vocals are becoming increasingly unintelligable. I dare any one of you to attempt to sing along with any of these songs...Why? Because you'll be instantly lost and unable to comply with that request. This fact is at the heart of the problem with this new album by Janet...no quality control was instituted to make sure that the most important areas in production and writing of the music was in place. And making sure that your audience can understand your lyrics is at the top of the list. If your vocals are unintelligable...all you have is the music to sell your CDs. The problem here is that the music is also bad...unprofessional in some respects and amateurish in others, shame on Jermaine Dupri for putting Janet in this position...something that I think was done willfully...and shame on Virgin execs for not bucking up to refuse to release an album that is simply not good.

All parties involved knew fan reaction to this music was bad when songs from the album were previewed on the internet weeks and months ahead of the albums release. These same individuals also knew of fan disappointment over the first single Janet recorded with Nelly, but did nothing to pull the single or remix it.
They could have remixed the album then and reshuffled the deck of songs...dumping some...and bringing in others...instead...they did nothing and ignored heartfelt pre-release warnings by the fans who post comments on web sites like this one and others...now they have a flop on their hands...and about 800.000 unsold CDs that are only worth being used as coasters for cocktail drinks. A real shame!!! I know you can do better Janet, but you and your brother Michael need to stop surrounding yourselves with YES MEN if you are going to begin to hear the truth!!!

51. First of all, the superbowl thing was sooo overblown. If you remember, her tit was barely noticeable. You could see more skin on the commercials they were showing that day. It was the media and those on the internet who magnified both her tit and the hype. Get off your high horse folks, because alot of you you went out of your way to FIND those close-up shots of her boob, but yet you judge her.

And it's true about the post who said that it's mostly women who are the most judgmental about Janet. I've come to realize that alot of women (or at least the ones on here) attack other women because of their own insecurities or issues.

52. Janet has done the same album three times. There is not alot of creative growth there. However, why doesn't anyone talk about Bon Jovi and Aerosmith putting out the same album all of their careers, to name but a few ? Madonna put out Ray Of Light, then Music (Ray Of Light 2) then a bigger stinker in American Life,which sold worse than Janet's latest and Damita Jo. Janet's voice is what it is. Madonna 's is flatter than flat. Unfortunately, her caucasian status has allowed her to get away with far more controversial things than a breat-baring number at the Super Bowl. Had she done it, people would have called it pure genius. Silly Americansand their double standards and hypocisy!

53. I am almost embarassed at this website and its weakness of topics.

Janet Jackson has sold over 70 million records in her 20 year career. They may be a handful of artist that can say that. She has focused her music on racisim, empowering women, speaking for children, and numerous other positive topics. She has 10 number one singles and has some of the greatest albums in history. Her tit falls out and the world hates her. What gives...

Janet has sold 500 thousand copies of 20 Y.O. in 3 weeks. Some artist do not sale those kind of records EVER. And lets talk album sales.....ALBUMS DONT SALE!!! Everyone knows that records are downloaded, burned, copied. etc.

For every album that is sold...10 are burned or downloaded illegally. Janet is not selling, neither is Justin, Christina, Beyonce, Evenesence, etc. Its just pathetic journalist (like the ones found on this site) trying to find something to talk about.

And for the idiots on this website....in the time it takes you to diss Janet.....another 100 albums are sold.

56. To start I would like to say that 20 Y.O. is a great cd, and true enough it does sound more urban than some of her other cd's but there are some songs on there that does not sound as urban.
Next I would like to mention that I never knew so many people can be so cruel to one human that has given back to communities in a good way, then for people to linger on about the superbowl incident is crazy, as if she stood on stage and ripped of her wardrobe herself, and if it was done on purpose which I believe it was not, why is only she getting flack for it, you cannot even google Janet name without seeing that picture. And if you actually watched the superbowl that day like I did, you know that her breast were exposed but you could not even see the full detail until they made a big deal out of it then technology blowing the secene up. Then you have TV itself as a joke that expose women everyday, on some show someone is showing there butt purposely, but then Janet is exposed accidently that is crazy.
People have seemingly forgot about all the money she has given back to communities, the way she had paved for so called pop princesses such as Britney and Christina. It is funny how people only concentrate on the negative. So what she is for and almost every magazine cover she shows a little more, If have a body like that at 40 I would too. I do not care what the numbers say her album is not a flop, because as someone mentioned earlier VR did almost the same numbers and went on to be platinum, b/c as far as I am concern 20 Y.O. is a success.

58. Since when is having your album go platinum a failure? Since when is having the #2 album is the country a flop? Janet is a great artist regardless of record sales. I'm usually not feeling what the rest of America considers to be talented. We are talking about a country that praises people like Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake. People go by hype these days. It not really about what's fresh. It's not really about real talent anymore. Please, some of the best singer's albums don't even debut on the charts, so Janet is actually doing well. You don't have to be at #1 to be a success.

59. Wow, #20 and 21, I could not have said it better. People need to get a hold of themselves. I'm not a fan of a lot of the artist that are popular today, but I'm not going invest so much negative energy and hate into it and make myself look like a fool like a lot of people here are doing. The sad thing is that out of all of the great work that Janet has done over the years and dis-spite all of her success the only thing that people remember today is the last 5 seconds of her Superbowl performance, which, by the way, a lot of people missed if you blinked your eye, but then the media only repeated it like every 5 seconds, yet it was "so offensive". A lot of us as Americans have very short attention spans and we are very quick to be judgmental and jump on the bandwagon instead of actually thinking logically and actually having a mind of our own. It because of people like a lot of you who are posting these hateful messages that we have George Bush as the president of our country.
