Fur-Loving Beyoncé Frightens Zoo Residents

Beyoncé Knowles took some time off after finally wrapping her upcoming movie "Dreamgirls" and spent an afternoon with her entourage at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney yesterday.

The singer-actress-designer -- and sometimes-target of animal rights organization PETA -- spent the day visiting all the fuzzy and furry creatures residing at the Zoo, presumably not searching for inspiration for her next clothing line.

The former Destiny's Child diva took all sorts of heat for the use of animal fur in her fashion line House of Dereon after she was ambushed by an angry PETA member at a charity dinner earlier this year, as TMZ first reported.

16. Again an excellent post from you, Rachel. To the earlier poster, I haven't eaten beef or pork in the last 8 years, solely for the conditions under which these animals are raised and/or abused by humans. I wish I could stop eating chicken, too, because they are mistreated as well. But I don't eat fish and I, for one, cannot exist on salads. More power to the people who can.

17. Thanks Jennifer, yeah salads don't do much for me either. Bring on the pasta and pizza!

I am one of the "Haters" as you put it and NO I do not eat or use ANYTHING that came from the slaughter or abuse of ANY animal, so I feel that I have every right to comment on this disgusting human being, no I do not know her but I DO know that her clothing line uses FUR which is stripped off of some poor DOG or CAT at some farm in CHINA, sold to the US as "Coyote" or "Fox", so next time you look at your dog or cat think about how they would feel if someone grabbed them out of your home, sliced their tail off and skinned them while still being alive. Oh and by the way cows and chickens ARE skinned and feathered ALIVE. So go have a burger, or a bucket of chicken and forget about it.

What is a heart attack???

God's revenge from eating his animal friends.

19. #14 Rachel Harrison You beat me to it, I agree. I do not eat meat either. How can laying an egg, being milked, or eating a dead animal be compared to skinning one alive? It's cruel and inhumane and we should never condone it.

20. ALL OF YOU NEED TO GET OVER IT!! EVERYTHING IS WRONG WETHER WE SKIN THEM ALIVE OR KILL THEM HUMANELY SO AND SO. WE STILL KILL THEM FOR OUR OWN SURVIVAL.. BELIEVE ME, I THINK IT IS CRUEL THAT THESE ANIMALS ARE SKINNED ALIVE, BUT DO ANY OF YOU ACTUALLY BELIEVE THAT THE WORLD ONE DAY WILL STOP CONSUMING ANIMALS?
I DID NOT THINK SO, IT'S SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN OCCURING FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS AND I DON'T SEE IT STOPPING ANYTIME SOON DESPITE THE FACT THAT ITS' HORRIBLE, THAT'S HUMANITY FOR YOU.....

21. In the caveman days, they used fur to keep warm. So animals were created for our needs. Slaves were treated the same way as animals. Do you see PETA going to Africa and helping those people or making a different in their lives. NO!
So shut up with all this talk about B and her furs.

23. #19 Peace, everyone is entitled to voice their opinions. Yours was unnecessarily rude and childish. Fawn over Beyonce if you must, it's your opinion, but we're entitled to ours as well. Grow up.

24. I was grocery shopping over a year ago (you'll see why I remember this) and was standing behind a woman in a fur coat. The cashier took one look at this woman and gave her the nastiest look you could imagine. The fur lady then asked the cashier what her belt was made out of and what her shoes were made out of. Anybody know? RIght, leather. And for # 3 you said that you don't eat meat but you never did answer # 10 question about the milk and eggs. To those who feel so strongly about the cruelty to animals then make sure you don't eat anything with milk, eggs, and you had better not own a pair of shoes with leather, have leather in your car or wear a leather belt. To all of those who truly live "animal" free- good for you and speak your minds. To those who want to trash the fur coat owners but still like the luxury of milk; eggs; leather you are a hypocryte.

25. Buttercup & others, The point is they do not skin live cows. They do skin live monkeys, dogs, cats, foxes, raccoons, etc. They do it in a particularly cruel manor. I eat meat! But I do not wear fur. There is slaughter for survival sake and then there's cruelty for the sake of fashion. I can see a clear difference between the two.

26. Nobody cares what you don't eat Jennifer. Go away bunnyhugger.

If I were Beyonce, I'd go everywhere in a full length mink coat just to spite the
fanantical idiots at p.i.t.a.

27. Beyonce is FAKE. Just look at her. She is a FAUX Paris.

28. Sorry, for all of you nonmeat eaters, a persons gotta eat, and i prefer meat. It is wrong under any sercumstance to abuse animals, but to say that all animals that are used for fur are treated that way is ignorant. And to judge Beyonce based on slanted views is wrong. You people need to grow up. You don't know her!

29. Eating an egg and drinking milk is not the same as ingesting a carcass that was killed a week ago, after being pumped full of antibiotics and food made of other dead animals not fit for human consuption. Chickens lay eggs that are not always fertilized. Most eggs aren't. The ones that you get from the supermarket aren't, and would just sit and spoil, and do not harm the feathered race. Likewise, cows make milk regardless of having a calf or not, and it hurts them if they aren't milked.

Now, we have no reason to eat meat from cows that destroy the environment by consuming ridiculous amounts water, grain, and producing methane gas which made the holes in the ozone layer. We have supplements, vegetables that are varied in textures and tastes and can provide more culinary excitement than beef, beef, beef.

And now, nobody needs fur. A pre-human race that existed thousands of years ago that wore animal skins is no excuse for a "modern woman" to wear the skins of once-living creatures. Now we have synthetics that last longer and are cheaper than any other real fur.

To refuse wearing fake fur and refraing from ingesting an animal once in a while is just being a stuck-up twat because someone with a higher education than you says there is an alternative now.

30. No worries though, God will judge her.

Uh, Merlin, have you ever read the bible? 'Cause God eats meat . . . .
