Celebrity Feuds
Oxy-Moron Limbaugh and Fox Ignite Stem Debate

Pill-popping conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh blasted Michael J. Fox recently for a political ad in which Fox supports stem-cell research. And now, right-wing cronies, celebrities, and even Jesus are taking sides against Fox and his position.
Limbaugh audio: click to hear

In Fox's ad, supporting Missouri Senate candidate Claire McCaskill (and other pro-stem-cell candidates), he sways and jerks uncontrollably, visible symptoms of his Parkinson's Disease. Limbaugh criticized Fox's spot as "purely an act," a remark for which he received a swift and vociferous backlash. (Limbaugh subsequently apologized.)

But today, on "Good Morning America," fellow right-wing lip-flapper Sean Hannity came to Limbaugh's defense, saying that Fox had a right to be criticized. (The National Parkinson's Foundation, in a statement issued to TMZ, explains that Fox's symptoms are actually the result of taking medication and that not taking meds would result in stiffness.)

And, in an ad airing during tonight's Game 4 of baseball's World Series, "Everybody Loves Raymond's" Patricia Heaton, Jim Caviezel (who played Jesus Christ in "The Passion of the Christ" and applies some Aramaic to his message here), and several pro athletes urge viewers to vote against Missouri's Amendment Two, which would provide constitutional protections against embryonic stem cell research.

151. I think Rush is a moronic idiot. Only dittoheads take his words seriously. But to those who said that they will not watch Patricia Heaton's show are as nunbskull as the right wing idiots. They are acting just like Sean Hannity who says that he wouldn't be watching any Alec Baldwin movies because of his disagreement with his political ideologies.

As for the person who posted that her grandmother died because of ALS, and she was against Stem Cell reeacch because of her religious convictions.. I say GOOD FOR HER! But you should never instill your own religious beliefs to other people. If people wants to find cures in all kinds of diseases, let them do so. In the event that you yourself suffers from ALS, nobody would force you to be treated with a medicine that resulted from Stem Cell research. You can die if you want according to your religious beliefs and I will defend your right to die. Just ton't shove your religious beliefs to others.

A MESSAGE FOR BLACKMETAL:

YOU SAID:

17. The liberal kook mouth breathers, can only point out typos and curse rant and rave.

They are career losers, with nothing of merit to add to ANY society. Let alone American society. My step mom has MS I never said I was against Stem Cell research. Yea I am conservative but we don't all agree on everything we're told to agree on. UNLIKE LIBERAL MOUTH BREATHERS. you hate whatever your told to hate..you don't even know why most of the time. Bunch of followers, drink the kool-aid.

When ANY of you pachouli smelling mouth brathers gets ahold of AN ACTUAL argument I'd be happy to slap you around the forums here.

BlackMetal

My retort: You sound like the idiots you have criticized. Why to you think Liimbaugh calls his audience dittoheads? Sigh... what an ignorant fool you are.

153. Whatever it takes to find cures for all the horrible diseases mentioned in these posts is what it's all about. If a celebrity can bring in money and votes then fine by me. If you support stem cell research then VOTE. If it doesn't pass then donate to research for whatever foundation you favor. If you can't afford to donate money then donate your time - you can go to any hospice , help feed the children or just hold one who doesn't have anyone. My parents were uneducated, scared to death to let us take the polio vaccine but the CO at the military base we were stationed at ordered all children on base to take the vaccine. Today millions of baby boomers & following generations are alive & walking because of the science. MJF honestly knows the cure will not come in time for him so it's not a selfish act. He's just hopeful. What's wrong with hope?

154. Nel,

You attempted to sound so mature and level headed right until.."the right wing idiots". Wow nice, work you made it all of what 3 sentences before espousing your opinion on others. But you don't want to hear theirs...

I don't believe that being "Right Wing" in and of itself makes someone an "idiot". All right wingers are not the same, just like all liberals are not the same. There are liberals against idealogies that tend to be the "norm" for most liberals.

But this is more of the YOU are this I am that mentality. We're all humans we DONT have to all agree. But we also don't have to name call or wish death and disease on those we disagree with.

155. Uh, First of all-- The reason why the responses here have been so general is because Limbaugh said something so unbelievably baseless and rude. I thought conservatives were supposed to be religious; thus-- compassionate. I guess not. How ironic is that? You dont want abortions, but you will accuse a sick and dying man of faking it?! What in the f*** is worse? Jesus dont like ugly my friends. And-- Everbody f***ing hates Raymond. Bye.

156. To everyone telling anyone who disagress with them.

To shut up - or catch something - or die.

Have any of you thought of re-locating to , say China?

You'd fit right in, our way or no way goes over MUCH better there than the USA.

Being able to disagree is one of Americans most precious rights, and you lot would want that taken away? Where would that leave you right now? Probably in a prison somewhere, since you all no doubt hate GWB and have said so publicly.

157. Annmarie,

Are you speaking directly to Rush himself or are you generalizing ALL Conservatives?

"You dont want abortions, but you will accuse a sick and dying man of faking it?!"

Who is "YOU" i am assuming your adressing ALL right wingers..nice work.
So now ALL Conservatives said what Rush said? And agree with him?

Aye Aye Aye

158. I wonder how many of you have ever told a friend or family member to stop faking it. When they were sick or whatever. PLEASE DO NOT tell me any of you have NEVER done it, because we all have.

Not defending Limbo, just pointing out.

159. Thank God I live in Missouri and can vote. I pray every day there will never be a time when someone else tells me what I can or can't do with MY body. I am encouraging every person I know to vote for the stem cell research. It's not about who's for it or who's against it cuz I don't give a sh*t. It's about the future. The researchers are not going to gather up women, knock them up, then do forced abortions. I find it insane that we have to vote on it. I have trouble swallowing the fact that some do-gooder in Washington might be able to tell me I can't have an abortion or own a gun, etc.! It's going to really suck when we have to go to Japan or China to get treatment for a disease because the stupid people here in America listened to their favorite TV star and voted no. I really think people should be made to take an intelligence test before voting! Just my 2 cents worth!!

160. You don't have to be subjected to anything. You chose to listen, choose to change the station.

Funny thing is the guy has the most listened to talk show on radio, yet you would never know that looking at ths board? Where is the Democratic talk radio, besides Al radioshowfailure Franken?

Needs to be more voices!

161. IF ANYONE LISTENS TO AND BELIEVES WHAT RUSH LIMBAUGH HAS TO SAY, THEN SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THEM. LIMBAUGH JUST WANTED JUST WHAT HE'S GETTING. REACTIONS. HE PROBABLY DON'T EVEN BELIEVE WHAT HE SAID HIMSELF. LIMBAUGH MOST LIKELY HAVEN'T BEEN TAKING HIS
MEDICATIONS LATELY . I WOULDN'T GIVE ONE PENNY WITH A HOLE IN IT TO LISTEN TO HIM ON THE RADIO. AS A MATTER OF FACT, I SHOULDN'T EVEN BE WASTING MY TIME ON THE FOOL.

162. To my fellow liberals. We are going to have a killer party on Nov 7!! (And an even better one in 2008!) Rermember how good this country had it when Clinton was in office? Now we're losing our young men and women by the thousands, there is no longer a middle class to speak of, every country in the world hates our guts. Yeah the conservative whackos should be throwing stones. If this is the best you can do with a Republican president and a majority in the house and senate no thanks. You're absolutely laughable. And for Rush to comment on Michael J. Fox, who has done an amazing job of raising funds for a cause that could help millions? What has Rush done for anyone- the makers of various narcotics and Viagra excluded, of course? Admit it conservatives-you're on the way out and good riddance.....

163. I work with several doctors and all of them are against the stem- cell bill. Everyone is being lead to believe that with this passing a cure for all of these horrible diseases is going to be available soon, and that is not the case at all. The embryonic stem cells have produced tumors when they have been used. They have no explination as to why, also some of the tumors have been cancerous. Even if they could cure parkinsons and these other diseases at this point, what if the cure lead to cancer? Sometimes the cure can be worse than the disease.

164. Michael J. Fox could have all the stem cell research he wants if he would have stuck it out here in Canada- we couldn't care less about any moral issues, we'll do anything!
He chose to go to America, get rich and famous and keep his money. He didn't have to share his millions with the rest of us taxpayers here- so tough if you can't get the research you want.
At least you can see a doctor!

165. You want to talk about a celberty making fun of someone with a disease let's not for get what the great humanitarian George Clooney said about Charlton Heston when he said he had alzheimer's. (Clooney): " He gets what he desrves he is the head of the NRA" Now where was all this condemnation of Clooney by the media and other democrats and libs??? It is only OK when it is them.
