Celebrity Feuds
Oxy-Moron Limbaugh and Fox Ignite Stem Debate

Pill-popping conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh blasted Michael J. Fox recently for a political ad in which Fox supports stem-cell research. And now, right-wing cronies, celebrities, and even Jesus are taking sides against Fox and his position.

In Fox's ad, supporting Missouri Senate candidate Claire McCaskill (and other pro-stem-cell candidates), he sways and jerks uncontrollably, visible symptoms of his Parkinson's Disease. Limbaugh criticized Fox's spot as "purely an act," a remark for which he received a swift and vociferous backlash. (Limbaugh subsequently apologized.)

But today, on "Good Morning America," fellow right-wing lip-flapper Sean Hannity came to Limbaugh's defense, saying that Fox had a right to be criticized. (The National Parkinson's Foundation, in a statement issued to TMZ, explains that Fox's symptoms are actually the result of taking medication and that not taking meds would result in stiffness.)

And, in an ad airing during tonight's Game 4 of baseball's World Series, "Everybody Loves Raymond's" Patricia Heaton, Jim Caviezel (who played Jesus Christ in "The Passion of the Christ" and applies some Aramaic to his message here), and several pro athletes urge viewers to vote against Missouri's Amendment Two, which would provide constitutional protections against embryonic stem cell research.

94. uhh lisa not all stem cells are taken from Aborted babies. time to get your head out of your ass and read, read, read. freak.

Rush should be injected w/a needle in his sternum w/ Parkinsons(if there was some way it could be done)and then we can all laugh at him and tell him he is faking it. My Uncle has Parkinsons, Alzheimers and is a Diabetic wow he must be lying too. What a FAT piece of shit freak Rush is. But its ok for him to be a pill popping fat slob just so he can hire some ho bags to get his dick off.

Rush may you die a horrible death in a disease there is no cure for

95. I truly hate to be long-winded on this subject, but as someone who watched her loving Grandmother deteriorate horribly and eventually die from Parkinson’s, I can assure all of the naysayers out that there, Fox was not faking. I watched my Grandmother worsen from a condition she originally kept a big secret from everyone in the family. For years, we all thought her shaking was due to a stroke. Eventually, however, she told us all she had been stricken with Parkinson’s. I can remember as she worsened over the years, it eventually affected her ability to eat. She soon was so thin, and I remember crying and begging her to let me at least feed her soup, which fortunately she did. Grandma lived about nine more months, but eventually the disease takes away your ability to even take a breath, and she quietly died in her sleep from Parkinson’s. I am eternally grateful for every moment she was here. My son barely got to know his Great-Grandmother, though. He loved her dearly, and does remember some things, but he never had the opportunity to hear her stories of her youth. These were stories that I found fascinating as a child, and I know he would have loved them just as much.

I also have two stepsons who watched their mother tragically die from MS at a relatively young age (45 years old). She died a horrible death. A Person with MS eventually is paralyzed to the point that they can no longer move any part of their muscular system, eventually becoming unable to breathe. Unfortunately, though, the mind works just fine and someone with MS is acutely aware of all that is happening around them. They are just unable to speak or move, as all of their muscles have deteriorated. What a frighteningly horrible way to die. The boys were forever scarred by her last moments, and the look of fear in her eyes as she realized that she was moments away from being able to take another breath.

I do not wish death, illness or rape on anyone. I would say this, though. Too all who so wildly disagree with stem cell research, go and visit someone with advanced Parkinson’s or Multiple Schlerosis and see first-hand how horrible these diseases truly are. Years and years of conventional research has not provided a cure to these and many other horrible illnesses – too many people are suffering and dying. I know all of the religious and moral arguments, but again, I say, sit with someone who is dying from any muscular or neurological diseases, go and see a child who is forever paralyzed and unable to run and play, and then remember the old saying, “God helps those who help themselves”.

96. And nice, BlackMetal, all liberals are pachoulli (actually it's patchoulli) tools. The whole
media is conservative so I don't know what your problem is if TMZ just acknowledges that Limbaugh is
an asshole. So, do all conservatives like Limbaugh? I doubt all conservatives can be so completely stupid, can they?

97. What a crummy person Limbaugh is to make fun of somebody who is sick and only because
finding a cure requires a liberal vote. Would it be okay if I made fun of Limbaugh's offspring as an aborted fetus?
No, that would be sick and cruel. Hey, why don't we make fun of Christopher Reeve too! Not!

100. Embryonic Stem cells have nothing to do with actual babies, or even fetuses. Get your facts straight, please. I also will never watch anything with Patricia Heaton in it again. Not that I ever thought she was much of an actress anyway. Or maybe I will when she or someone she loves is faced with a disease for which there is currently no cure, and she changes her tune.

I must say that she has no problem with other aspects of medicine. Such as plastic surgery. How hypocritical is she ? Her and the pill popping loud mouth.

101. BlackMetal said: "Nice Julia.I love how all non-liberals are lumped together and have "No Idea". No Idea of what you fucking pachouli hippy tools?"

Nice, BlackMetal! I love how all liberals are lumped together as "patchouli hippy tools" and "pot smokers"!

As for Julia's statement that Rush made these comments "in haste," and he apologized so we should get over it--come on! the comments were not made in haste. He has a nationally broadcast radio show. He had time to plan what he was going to say, who he was going to attack. Nothing about this was "in haste." As for "getting over it"--do you think conservatives would get over it if a liberal viciously, personally attacked one of their own? No.

If you're going to defend Rush's atrocious remarks, at least do it in a logical fashion. Fox had the bravery to make a reasonable argument while exposing himself in the throes of such a devastating illness. If you're going to argue against stem-cell research, at least measure up to the dignified (but painful and disturbing to watch, yes) way in which Fox made his arguments.

102. Wow there are really cold hearted people on here... I dont believe you should be wishing death or anything on anyone just because they dont share your point of view. Th e language is totally uncalled for, i believe people only use cuss words because they are totally ignorant of the english language. I will not ever visit this web site again. I respects myself and my fellow human beings to much to even waste my time with such dribble. good bye TMZ you have lost quite a few readers today.

103. God gave us everything we need to do good and live well - because God only does good. Humans have a nasty little device within them called free will. That's what has gotten us into trouble since the beginning of mankind. The bible is not the last word, it is only the word of those that have come before us. If we had used what God gave us unselfishly, Rush Limbaugh wouldn't have a job and Patricia Heaton could stay home, raise her children and maybe do a little boob hiking occasionally. Stem cell research is just using what God gave us for our own good. Killing young mothers and fathers in Iraq is only supporting GW's ego.

104. TMZ staff is a joke. You can't believe what they write and I have no respect for them. I tell my kids to stay off this site, but they say they do it as a joke and all the kids at school know that you can't believe the writer's and that their are 2 sides to every story.

I tell them that those on the way to hell cannot be believe and this bull shit they wrote is so far off the truth that you would have to spend a hour writing it all up.

M. Fox is a joke, a liar, and trying to sell a bill of goods that is so full of holes, you better not buy it. All that he said is a lie based on science tific facts, not on emotion. Ofter people weigh in on this without having the facts. I called them do. do's. Most of you would call them stupid or idiots, and you would be correct on both tems.

105. I f any moron would have listened to Rush's whole comment they would not have taken it out of context. And even though I really like Fox he is wrong on what he says in his commercial. And he is opening himself up to be called on it when he makes public statements. Stem cell research is legal in that state, but the clonning part is what they are talking about and that is wrong.. Anyone should check on all the facts before commenting. And anyone with half a brain knows stem cell research is a long long way from anything. This is just another liberal sneak to get something through that is wrong.
