As for why Witherspoon contacted Kaufman, we're told it was not triggered by one event. Rather, one connected source says it was "cumulative."

271. #3 sounds jealous. You know that you are non-existant to him right? Sounds like you wish you could be Mrs. Phillippe huh? Don't cry sweetheart- there's someone out there for eveyone- at least that's what I heard. :(

272. I think that marriage licences should be renewed like drivers licenses after a few years, or else trade their spouse in for a newer model.

273. marriage nowadays doesn't mean shit! especially in hollywood, everything and everybody is disposable.

274. They married too young. I think the fact she now has an Oscar and makes about 29 million a picture probably pushed Ryan over the edge. Whenever I saw Ryan on the red carpet he always had a look about him like he is an asshole.

275. i cant believe this, i really cant, this is so sad, I would talk to my closest friends about this couple about how i respect the fact they been together all this time and worshipped their love so I dont know what happened, guess its a part of life, plus they married so young, not sure if its mutual or what, whose next ? Will and Jada? seems like only the older couples stay together like bill and camille cosby, ruby dee and ossie davis, etc etc, I dont like breakups. OH well but what can you do?

276. I am so sad to hear they have separated. I really thought they would be one to make it. Why is it that a marrige is so different, just because your a celebrity. The "rules" of marrige are the same no matter what. "Till Death Do We Part"! Why is no one willing to make that commitment and stick to it. There are only very few reasons in my opinion that divorce should be an option. The crazy people reasons people have now, just come from laziness, not wanted to make the effort to actually make it work. I expected more from them. Their morals and values seemed to be in a better place than most. I pray they are able to work through it, it is worth it!!!!

277. Why is everyone so surprised? We all know that nearly every celebrity couple breaks up eventually. This is nothing new.

278. I'm truly not surprised. No matter how committed they both were on making their marriage and family work both of these fine actors married too young and soon. And living in "Babylon" doesn't help matters either!! It's unfortunate for both but in the long run probably the best thing.

279. That is sad that they are splitting. I will have my rep get in touch with hers in a couple of months to set us up for dinner and drinks. I think we would hit it off well. Also, to the Harvard Doctorate.... learn how to spell dude. Obviously, Harvard is not what is used to be.

281. It's nature's course; They're no differen than any other couple, in fact, the odds are stacked against them with the pressure of fame, money and merciless work schedule/load. On another note, there is God, now I have a real chance with Ms. Spoonsque!

282. this is showbiz and most of their couples never last for long...break ups always here and there...

283. The critics are raving about Ryan's performance in Flags of our Father. We all know the academy usually selects movies that are not box office hits. There is already talk of oscar buzz for the movie. The movie he co-starred in last year, Crash, won the oscar for best movie in March. What do you want him and Reese to do ? Out act each other? They are married not twins. He is a great young developing actor. People act as if he has doing TV roles. Most people don't know them well enough personally to judge them!!!!!!!! If Brad and Jen couldn't last, who can? And a woman doesn't steal a man who does not want to be stolen!!

284. It just goes to show you...no matter how much money, success, looks or fame one has, EVERYONE has their own internal demons they must struggle with. There is no such thing as consistent happiness.
