46. Lmao. I don't know who made that moronic comment about Britney having to cancel her Onyx Hotel Tour due to low tickets sales. But you should quit while you are ahead. Britney has NEVER EVER had to cancel a tour because of low ticket sales. Her first three tours made the Top 20 Grossing Concerts list. The Onyx tour grossed 34 million in it's FIRST LEG ONLY. The tour grossed $40 million. It would have grossed EVEN MORE but the knee injury came along. Also, Britney's 2002 Dream Within A Dream grossed $43 million. During the Onyx Hotel Tour, her tickets over in Dublin sold out in less than 28 minutes.

Christina will NEVER be able to accomplish that. She cancelled the Stripped tour because of busted ticket sales. Even the NY Post and the Sun reported lackluster tickets were the real reason behind the cancellation. Britney will NEVER flop on tour.

47. I know, I know. But I just can’t help myself.
The old blues and jazz of the 20’s thru 40’s created a sound so real, emotional and passionate, you’d think it would be popular forever. But the truth is, modern day pop makes little room for this genre. It’s all the same, pasteurized garbage created by the same producers: Scott Storch, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, etc.
You can’t blame an artist for respecting this type of music, and exploring it artistically, musically, and creatively. Who said Christina had to be the first to do it? Who made up that rule? Listen to Madonna’s version, then Christina’s. They’re nothing alike. Christina took this idea, which is open to everyone, and molded it to best suit her. Outkast recently released their concept album based on the 1930’s jazz, blues and swing called Idlewild. I’m sure you’ve heard of it. Their version is totally different as well.
I can see how you would say Christina is modeling Madonna. They do have a lot in common. They are both strong, brash, opinionated, brave, ballsy women who do what they want when they want. But their careers are completely different. This is Christina’s third album in seven years. It’s the only throwback record she’s done, so I don’t know how you can say, “She's just doing everything that was already done.” She obviously didn’t copy anyone on her self-titled debut or Stripped. If anything, she got a lot flack for being HERSELF.
“Baby One More Time and Toxic are the biggest innovations of her career thus far.” ……………………Yeah, see you just lost all credibility right there. If she is so innovative where are her Grammys, or Grammy nominations, at least. Charts do not equal talent. It just means more people around the country have the same crappy taste in music as you do.
By the way, I believe E! reported the cancellation of the tour could have been due to low ticket sales around the world. It came out on 101 Biggest Celebrity Oops, because right after the cancellation due to the “leg injury” she was seen walking around town with K-Fed and that ruffled some feathers.
Christina offers her audience, something Britney just can’t. Live singing. Actually, she cancelled the Stripped tour due to her throat. She sang plenty of challenging songs on her tour day in and day out so it’s not unlikely for it ware on her cords. SHE wouldn’t wimp out of a tour due to a leg injury because HER talent lies within her voice.
I expect Britney to wiggle her ass in front of the camera, whisper most of her songs, and sell loads of albums to her superficial, shallow fans. I don’t expect her to create music that is respected as much as Christina’s. You’ll see this come Grammy time, I promise you that. Bet on Hurt winning her another golden beauty. Music has become more about sales and popularity, than actual substance. As long as you hard core fans give your money to “singers” with little talent, who offer mediocre music and rely more on their personality than their work, this will never change. And that just sucks for the rest of us.

51. So is everyone implying that the better an artists voice the more you're supposed to conform to a conservative wardrobe? So by saying that you are also saying evey artist that show's skin has not talent.

Christina can do anything or wear anystyle she wants..why?? because she's got the golden pipes to back it up. I would not be entertained by and artist who's got a voice like hers who wears turltle necks and ankle lenght skirts.

52. Those are probably the very worst photo manipulations that I've ever seen.

If TMZ staff couldn't afford a photographer or the rights to new pictures, you should have just left this article sans-photo. I would have been perfectly ok with reading about her "sexy" tour without the bad pictures.

In response to news of her tour, it doesn't surprise me that much. Madonna has been making sexually contraversial tours forever, and some people hate her just as much as some people hate Christina.

I love both of them, but I probably won't see either tour.

53. I am trying to stay unopinionated about the so-called "whore-ness" of Christina Aguilera. Personally, I think she is very pretty and wears less makeup than a lot of other Hollywood stars and singers. On the subject of copying Madonna and Marilyn Monroe, I think it is unfair that a lot of people are saying, "Oh, Christina copied Madonna," while Madonna has totally ripped off Marilyn Monroe and nobody ever said (in response to this blog entry), "Oh, Madonna copied Marilyn." Secondly, I like the jazz-ish, '30s feel of songs like "Ain't no other man" and "I've got trouble." I think that the retro, vintage vibe of both her songs and her clothes make her music more appealing to me than it was before her makeover. However, she is not using only her clothes and body to attract listeners in the way that Britney, Jessica, and Beyonce do.

Another thing: Invention is making a whole new thing. Innovation is taking something that was already invented and making it better. Think of it like this: The Cave men knew that fish were good to eat, so they caught them with their hands;they were the inventors. The Cro-magnons learned that fish were good to eat so they used a stick to catch them. Now, we know that fish are good to eat so we use fishing poles and nets to catch them. We are innovators because we used knowledge that early people already had to recreate the tools that they had in a better, more efficient way.

In this example, Marilyn Monroe was the inventor. She wore very cool, timeless clothes and had a sound that was all her own. Madonna knew that people liked Marilyn's sound and Marilyn's clothes, so she began to act the same in a way that didn't completely copy her. Now, we have Christina. Christina knows that people like both Marilyn's and Madonna's style and songs, so she recreated them in a way that is her own and works for her. I agree that copying is not reinventing, but Christina has not copied anyone, she has just been inspired by them.

Last of all, I cannot bear to have anybody call anybody else a "whore" or "slut." These terms is very rude, and I am sure you would not want someone calling YOU either of those names. When you call an actress or singer a nasty name like that, you may think, "Oh, she will never know." But what if she is a regular reader of this blog? After everything celebrities have to go through every day (public breakups, paparazzi hounding them, invasion of their personal space) do you really think that they would want to be called a whore by somebody who doesn't even know them? If you were a celebrity, wouldn't this be the last thing you would want? Being called a whore by at least 10 random people that you don't know-daily? I would never want that. I hope that these people will just realize that they are just jealous of Christina's looks and her music.

I know that this is very long, but I feel that somebody should comment on the obvious unfairness of a lot of things that people are writing in their comments. I agree with #26 and #30, both of which were written by the same very observant author. Thank you for stating all the odds and ends that nobody else included in their comments.

Christina is the first real girl that has gone platinum...first of all she has a f'in awesome voice...and secondly if you dare to compare her to stupid girls like britney...britney sucks...she came out because she wanted to be a good image to young women...how so??? she said she was a virgin and that she wouldnt dare to dress like christina...first of all she did have sex and now shes popping out like a million kids and working on a third marriage and christina has always been a real girl...she knows sex sells...and britney found that too..she looked like a whore too...christina actually plays songs for women's power...britney never had to phase the crap that christina had too...she never had any of that crap in her life...she just had to grow up like a regular southerner...so first of all christina has a voice and talent and shes naturally beautiful...shes real...which you dont see very often...shes a girl...look at how many stupid males have made it because sex sells...shes just in the system...look at how many rappers abuse women in their videos because sex sells and so does abuse to women....its disgusting and im more disgusted in the people that call christina a whore because you would never say anything to a rapper that has 10 half naked girls in his videos...you look at him as hes a pimp...well im a girl and i know that abuse is real...and i hate it...and the people that condone to subjecting women as whores and men as pimps without even thinking or second judging their character....women are abused every three minutes...god forbid a woman decides that her sex appeal is worth making a market out of it....seriously wake up!!!

60. Christina is one of the best singers of all time. I'm so sick of everyone saying that Britney is so sexy and has so much talent. First of all shes not cute, she has a fat muffin nose, seperated drippy eyes, and she looks like white trash! The girl cannot sing, face it! You all keep saying how much of a "whore" Christina is, didn't you see the picture of Britney's crotch. I have never once seen Christina's. So who cares if Christina wants to be sexy, what the hell do you care? If you don't like it then don't look. Go look at Britney! How does Christina copy Madonna, last I checked all that stuff came before Madonna was even born. In my opinion Christina is the best artist out there right now!
