Kid Caught in Cruise Crossfire; Tom Dazed Too

Tom Cruise -- Click to WatchIt was a knock-down-drag-out day at the soccer field for Tom Cruise on Saturday, problem is -- the victim was an innocent toddler caught in Tom's paparazzi crush.

It went down moments after Tom put his soon-to-be wife, Katie Holmes, in a passionate liplock, then took off for the restroom -- as usual, a crash of photogs followed. As the star smiled and slowly paced toward the public toilets, a toddler wandered into the crush, and fell to the ground. "She's bleeding!" screamed the child's mother.

A shocked Cruise stared blankly before extending his arm in a vain attempt to console the kid with a backrub. The child's infuriated mother picked up the kid and began walking away, offering a few words of advice to the world's most famous actor: "You should live in Colorado, get away from them (the photogs)."

Moments later, Tom whispered into the ear of one of his "people," who took off after the Mom and her wailing tot.

After the drama, Tom finally made it to the restroom. Mission accomplished.

46. Mauls infant? Don't you think that's a tad bit over the top? Since when is knocking someone over considered mauling? Maybe TMZ writers should invest in a good dictionary.

47. Yup... she didn't start wailing until her mom finally tried to get her out of the way.

48. I love how Tom starts running. Did he not realize that they'd start chasing after him? Here's an idea, ass! Go elsewhere for your publicity stunts.

49. For heaven's sake. If a mom can't let her kid run around in a PUBLIC PARK, at a KID'S SOCCER MATCH where can she? It's Tom Cruise and his travelling freak show that don't belong there - not a member of the public with their kids!

It must be a nightmare for parents who want to watch their kids play soccer to have to deal with Cruise's travelling paparazzi sideshow every weekend. (And I'm sure HIS kids would just like to play their game in peace as well.) With so few public spaces in the city where kids can play, I'm sure all the other parents are pissed off that what should be an innocent family time has become overrun with photographers and loonies.

50. It broke my heart to hear that baby cry because she was hurt. Momma shouldnt have been in the way.. she should have been far away from the alien. Aliens are bad.
Poor baby. I hope she is ok today and doesnt scar.

51. OK, I'm outta here. Once again, the comments pages are being overrun with Scientology freaks. (Oh, and by the way, what about the countries that DON'T recognise Scientology as a religion, but as a weirdo cult and a money-making scheme? You've left those out...) All hail Xenu!

52. Please know that I'm not a Tom Cruise fan, I've never seen his movies, and I was disgusted at his adolescent behavior on the Oprah Winfrey show. So, what I'm about to say is simply an open-minded opinion...

All "stunt/photo op" comments aside, I think it's a shame that Tom can't sit in the bleachers and watch his kids play just like any other parent does. He's not the one responsible for the people who are dragging their cameras around wherever he goes, including the restroom. I take mine everywhere I go, too, but I certainly don't intrude on others' privacy in order to use it. Each individual should be held accountable for his/her actions, no matter what they are. Besides, it's the very people who have paid the multimillions of dollars at the box offices that have made him the "star" that he is, so don't gripe about the monster you've created.

FWIW, I'm not calling Tom the monster, I'm referring to the swarm of paparazzo that are always around him. That would have to be claustrophobic, to say the least.

53. It IS Cruise's fault. He knows the reaction he will get when he puts on his public displays and grandstanding for media attention

This is the reason for his every outing- stir things up and get attention

54. Kris , thanks for pointing out the scientology crowd, they need to go pour libation on the xenu shrine and leave us alone.

Jackie unlike other religions you must realize that your church is very expensive and thus most european countries will not give tax exempt status as they do to RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS. Any clever person with a lot of money and mind control tatics can use the laws of the land to claim whatever they wish.

I hate to disabuse you of the fact that the information I know about scientology is not form the so Horrid media but , I read from your scientology website and I really think its A CROCK OF SH*T.
The media does not make up my mind for me on matters of religion.

I dont give a sh*t what this outfit does to help out..In the name of christianity, slavery and colonization was explained away. Help with religious strings proselytization . If someone can come up with this religion, I can sure enough denouce anything I wish..not that I was denoucing it ..I was simply making a comment. I am quite happy that hubbard was able to concentrate you all in one place to free us off your company...Thank you Ron!!...............

The catholic church in case you havent read much about it, dubbed all other churches as protestants, See even with established churches, they are still quick to seperate themselves, and maintain themselves as THE CHURCH.
How do you think they would enjoy being associated with sceintology.
You should read Peagles thesis on the lost scrolls, it will give you a fairly academic insight into how the Church was able to survive and keep christianity going for this long.

The lying media. Indeed, when thousand s complain, only those in this xenu mindset claim the rest of the world in wrong. GROUP THINK defintely works wonders foir hubbards followers. Really you should find out why he hates psychology so much, is it something to do with you all learning about his little tricks of mind control.

If you really need to find meaning in life , go read a pyschology book, you could start your own cult. For that I really admire hubbard for being able to hoodwink all you

My apologies to all other religions, my aim is not to condemn or insult .
But Jackie really is tripping.......

56. Why would a mother let a toddler wander close to a crowd? Maybe she should learn to be more careful. Next time the child might wander in front of a car. S.

57. Sorry but that woman was a beyotch. I don't blame her for being mad at the photogs but it sounded like she directed her ire at Cruise. It's hardly his fault. The man is a good dad who goes to see his kids play soccer. He didn't knock her kid over. And what does living in Colorado have to do with anything? I guess there are no photos allowed in Colorado? She's a beyotch.

58. It is so obvious that this stunt was staged.

Toms peeps set up soccer game and calleds the paps and sets up photo op.
Once at the park they find a mom with a small child to stand in a certain spot next to the playground/sandbox.
Tom wildly makes out with his beard, then head towards the playground. His son says "Hey dad, can I go with you?"
Knowing that it is NOT in the script for Conner to be present, but also knows that he would look REALLY bad if he tells his son no, Tom lets Conner go with him.
As Tom gets closer to the "Operation:Save the day photo-op", he sends Conner and his friend out of camera site.
The director then says "ACTION" and the walking, tripping and crying begins.
The director yells, "CUT"
Tom gets to his mark, stands still waiting for all of the cameras to repostion and then the director once again shouts, "ACTION"
Tom reaches out to the crying toddler slowly, to show that he cares and as to not want to startle the young child. He exchanges what appears to be comforting words with the mother. ( When in all actuallity Tom was saying "Thanks so much for doing this photo op for me, do you think I look better to my EX fans?" then the lady replies, "Depends on the size of the check, you know I can really make a scene if I don't like the figures.")
They part ways and "Operation:Save the day photo op" is over.

Then when you see tom send one of his peeps over to the lady witha sizable check.

59. Note to Patti- These celebs have PR reps who NOTIFY the press when the celeb will be at an event specifically so they can be photographed.

Celebs like Cruise don't have personal or private lives. It is their choice and job to put their life on a stage. They are ALWAYS performing. They are completely self absorbed and self promoting. Life is promotion.

60. Those leeches need to watch where they are going. The tots Mom should sue because you know the parasite photographer would if it were reversed.
