Paparazzi King Gets Face Bashed In

E.L. Woody -- Click to WatchBlood streamed down the face of "Celebrities Uncensored" paparazzi guru E.L. Woody after a late night argument turned violent outside of Area nightclub in Hollywood.

It all went down as Brody Jenner exited the club, smiling and waving to waiting shutterbugs. While Woody photographed him, a random clubgoer approached and began shouting, "What are you doing? You don't need to shoot him, leave him alone." According to Woody, the man then broke a microphone off of another photog's camera.

Woody says he quickly approached the attacker and told him that he would have to pay for the damaged camera. That's when things got bloody. According to Woody, the man then grabbed another mic and smashed Woody in the face with it, opening a bloody gash above his left eye.

Private security quickly threw the alleged attacker in handcuffs and tossed him in the back of a security vehicle, while a battered Woody screamed at him. "Look what you did to my face? If you can't handle your liquor, you shouldn't be out! I don't care who you are, you're going to jail!"

E.L. Woody is scheduled to undergo a CATscan at a local hospital and will get stiches later today. Woody tells TMZ he will definitely file charges.

46. Ha Ha you jerks. We take the pictures that you want to see and buy... No one has the right to attack anyone.... EL was standing on public property and no one has the right to break his cameras or to assult him, Having been involved in lawsuits before, its not worth sueing, but the guy should be arrested and pay for his crime. I have been beaten up for no reason before and its not fun. If you readers don't want pictures of Paris Hilton or Lindsay "HO" Lohan then write the magazines and tell them so. It's you the public that dictates what we go out and shoot !

50. I have to say that I agree with Wise Old Owl. Celebrities make a choice to go out to these "hotspots". If Brody really had a problem with getting his picture taken, he never would've gone to that particular club. Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, Tara Reid, Nicole Richie etc. wouldn't be nearly as famous without the paparazzi. They also CHOOSE to go to these trendy celebrity clubs "hmmm I wonder why". I do think the the paparazzi can get carried away and I don't always agree with their tactics, but in this case I don't think this paparazzo was doing anything wrong. I can see smacking one of them if they jumped out of the bushes at the end of your driveway because that would scare the s**t out of me but attacking outside of a popular club is uncalled for. If I was a celebrity and didn't want all the paparazzi attention, I would simply spend my free time in more secluded places. There are plenty of high profile celebs who do this. How often do you see Jessica Alba or Jessica Biel at these places? Maybe once in a great while but most of their photos are taken at events like award shows, premiers, etc. where the cameras can only come so close.

52. Just a couple of points:

#1) The paparazzi/celebrity relationship is kind of like a symbiotic parasitic relationship, it might be said that it would be difficult for one to exist without the other. It's interesting that the paparazzi are always screaming about celebrities "NEEDING" them, but they fail to realize that they would never garner the fees they command for photos were it not for celebs.

It is interesting, also, to hear paparazzi photogs on this blog talk about "humanity" coming first when they stalk people at their homes, when they go grocery shopping, go out to the beach with their kids, etc...there is ZERO respect for the celebrity as a human being by photogs...NONE, so if you don't give that kind of regard to others, it's hard for people to give it back to you.

Do people like looking at celebs? ABSOLUTELY!!! Do I (or most people) want to see celebs injured (Princess Di/Lindsay Lohan) because they are being relentlessly pursued by photographers? Hell no! At what point does the photographer say, "You know, I'd really like to get a shot of this celeb, but it's getting too dangerous?"

When you stand on the streets all day and all night, harassing people (And having a camera CONSTANTLY stuck in your face *IS* harassment), well...then you should EXPECT to get decked every now and then. It's called a job hazard. When you physically impede people from being able to get from point A to point B (and don't you dare say that the paparazzi never do it because we've seen the videos here on TMZ), well...when you do that, EXPECT to get run over or decked. And when some nut job comes out of nowhere and takes his aggression out on you, that shouldn't be a surprise, either.

I'm all for MUTUAL respect, but I've been shocked at times from videos on TMZ at how aggressive the paparazzi are with their comments and behavior towards celebs. Pics are fun to see, but I don't understand why the photographers are so rude to the celebrities. Madonna just got decked BY AGGRESSIVE PHOTOGRAPHERS at a London airport WHILE she was holding her new son. It's a two-way street.

Amazing to see how many paparazzi's are on TMZ. It's actually nice to know who they are, so that I can take their future comments with the right perspective.

53. And this is wrong how again? Heck a little blood for having trashed so many lives... I think it's way fair. Hell I hope celebrities pay for the Basher's lawyers...

If you can't take the heat then stay home Woody!

Hope the next one will ram the mic right up you a$$!!

54. Good. There is no excuse for violence. Wether Woody provoked it or not is besides the point. The nutbag needs to be charged regardless.

All you people who seem to be 'happy' that some guy you probably don't even know got beaten up are a perfect example with what's wrong with most americans today.

55. So, you all want the Paps to go away? Then why do you read these celebrity websites? Seems you'd want to stick to the New York Times or your local news before ogling all the pictures of your favorite celebs. Wise Old Owl is correct in his earlier posting that your statements are HYPOCRITICAL AND:

He did not deserve to be attacked like that. Shame on all of you. As a celebrity part of the territory is " getting your picture taken " even when you may not want it. You give up your privacy. It's all part of the package. You don't like it........get into another profession. There is no excuse for behavior like that.

56. #23 is probably an escapee from a state institution. No need to bother with him.

57. No one deserves to be assulted like that. People need to learn how to behave in public. Hope they hit the idiot were it hurts in his wallet!

59. All those cheering the attacker:

What nobody has mentioned is that if this incident had not happened, the attacker, who was apparently drunk, would have just gotten in his car and driven off in an impaired state, possibly getting into an accident.
