TMZ to Rosie: How Dare You!

Rosie O'Donnell took a shot at TMZ this morning on "The View," accusing us of outing gay celebs in the same way that PerezHilton.com has done. Not that there's anything wrong with coming out of the closet, but -- yo, Ro! -- get your facts straight! TMZ has, for the record, never outed anyone; gay, bisexual, alien or otherwise, and that's really not what we're about.

O'Donnell was talking about her own gay admission to Warner Bros. execs when she started her talk show back in 1995, and said that she kept it mainly under wraps to avoid controversy. But, she added, "At the time when my show was on, there was no Drudge Report, there was no Perez Hilton, there was no TMZ, and you could be gay and have a big successful career and no one would ask you -- no journalist ever asked me."

Frankly, Rosie, we at TMZ don't shy away from the tough questions, but we're not in the business of outing people -- so back off, girlfriend!

She insinuated that they're responsible for outing celebs.. which they don't.. Perez does.

On a side note...I wish Rosie wasn't so-in-peoples-faces about her gayness! There's not one show that she doesn't bring it up! It's getting annoying... we get that you like p***y... but you don't see the other hosts talking about their sexuality all the time.

17. Right on,TMZ, right on. Even if she didn't mean it that way, people could have taken it that way. Good to clear that up.

Some things I'm soooo tired of reading from commenters:

3) All you do is report on superficial gossip!

If you want news, go to CNN. If you don't like TMZ or gossip, DON'T READ IT OR DON'T COMMENT. I'm surprised I have to tell you this.

20. What crawled up Rosie's crack? Didn't have mouthfuls of cupcakes for breakfast? This turd is so LOUD that she can't hear what she is saying . If she toned down her huge voice she would realize how hypocritical she is. She should be ashamed of herself! Rosie has been gossiping about people her whole career and has the nerve to blast TMZ? Rosie thinks she is wise but really she's a foolish butterball turkey just in time for Thanksgiving. Let the other View gals roast her up so we don't have to listen to this stupid,annoying clown anymore.

23. How can you out someone? Don't they have to out themselves? Did I miss something here? These columns only write what we think, anyway. I've thought many "stars" were gay only to find out...years later...I was right. Maybe I'm the one outing them all. Uh Oh. Better hide before BIG RO comes after me.

TMZ gets out there, works the streets and events to report the gossip, they don't create it

Perez was always mean spirited, but when he started his attack on Neil Patrick Harris I stopped reading his crap.

29. WHATEVER ROSIE!!! She talks daily about her wife(husband?) I can't tell. which is which. She makes me sick, she is worse than Kathy Gifford.... blah blah blah constantly about her family. you took yourself out of closet,stop whining.

30. I dont get it...she's out she's proud..lets all get married...now lets not talk about it...keep it a secret.,..dont tell anyone...dont out people...which way does she want it? If its not shameful and if its normal than why cant anyone talk about it?
The gay issue is annoying...pick a way that you want it dealt with and stick with it. This flip flopping blaming bs is so old. She is unwatchable...Star was at least a joke...Rosey is just offensive.
