Celebrity Justice
FOX Cuts and Runs on OJ

OJ SimpsonCommon sense and good taste seem to have prevailed: FOX has decided to pull the plug on both its planned OJ Simpson book and television interview special, "O.J. Simpson: If I Did It, Here's How It Happened."

Good.

News Corporation Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch said today, "I and senior management agree with the American public that this was an ill-considered project. We are sorry for any pain this has caused the families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown-Simpson."

76. Commentor #56 - So all gold diggers should be brutally murdered? Tell me you are smarter than that.

77. i believe in the old saying what goes around comes around. it might not be today or tomorrow but someday it will come up to bite him(O.J.) in the ass. i think that he will eventually mess up again. i just think that it is appalling that he would even consider writing this stupid book if he were innocent knowing the pain it would cause the families and his own children.

78. This story is far from over- it will be the lead story on all the newsmag TV shows for awhile and I would imagine the story behind this story will be talking head fodder during the all important sweeps period- Would a Special One hour interview Bill O' Reilly interviewing Judith Regan be a ratings grabber? Or will she appear on Larry King first. oops I forgot- he didn't get the news from the internet- one of his staff must have woken him.

79. OJ was not found innocent, he was found not guilty. They are not the same thing, please brush up on the law before posting comments that make you look ignorant. You can be completely gulity and still found not guilty based on the evidence presented and jury nulification. The latter being what I feel happened in this case.

80. O.J. simpson was aquitted of murder. He was found NOT GUILTY! why is he crazy??! O.J. did not do it! sorry to burst your bubbles but O.J. is an innocent man. wouldn't you hate to austraasized for something you did not do? that is unfair. no one can prove he is guilty. Innocent until PROVEN guilty! the glove did not fit. give the man a break. condolences to the family of nicole and ron still. her spirit lives on in her children.

81. Praise the Lord! I'm elated to hear this news. I enjoy watching Fox news and do daily. However after I heard they were going to air the OJ story I was so discussed. I felt out of respect to the families I wasn't going to watch Fox again. I'm so glad to hear they (FOX) came to their senses and decided not to air the interview and made the apology to the families of Nicole and Ron. I’m also happy to see so many Americans feel the same way. Shame on OJ for thinking the American public would stand for something like this!
God Bless

83. I agree with by Coastal. O.J. is not only scum but the lowest form of coward. I would not purchase and/or read his 'book'. How dare he write something that will untimately hurt his children only more? He will be in the darkest part of hell with the Scott Peterson's of the world. I know Johnnie Cochran was hating it the last hours of his life thinking how he would explain that to God. O.J. is an ego manic who deserves the same thing he gave - to be slaughtered and butchered. As a great line from a movie once said, "FUCK HIM - HE IS TRASH" and, none of this makes me a racist - I would feel the same way if he were white, hello Scott Peterson - may you both burn in hell!!!!!

85. Well, Ms. Judy Regan, power mogul BIOTCH -- i guess we CAN'T just do anything we effin please, can we? Your lame-ass excuses for doing this -- you considered it a confession -- it was historical and all that bullsh*t just exposes you for the scum-sucker you are.

"Ill-advised" doesn't begin to describe what this project was. But i think $$$$ had a lot to do with the decision to NIX. Despite what they coulda made -- they would have lost more -- Rupert Murdoch's stock -- Fox's stock -- and who wants people so pissed that they might not have tuned into Fox to watch IDOL in January. The almighty buckaroo is likely a bigger part of the decision to axe this crap, but my wife, kids & myself are all very glad this is done with!!

I sure won't be buying anything published by REgan Books again. F that!

87. Thank you Mr. Murdoch for finaly doing the right thing.. But this O.J. thing should have NEVER been allowed to go this far or even considered.

Here is a letter I sent to my local newspaper yesterday morning:

If the folks who own or have a say in what is printed, seen and/or heard in the media were more sensitive to their sense of morals and integrity rather than seeing O.J. as a cash cow, he would have long exhausted his 15 minutes of fame. But as long as FOX and other media pay him, he will continue to remind us, and especially the Brown/Goldman families that crime CAN pay in America. I wonder what O.J.'s family think about his infamy. Who would have thought he would go down in history for being the central figure in a double murder trial instead of a world known, talented athlete/actor?

88. For a country that pride's itself on the innocent until proven guilty aspect of your legal system, people just don't seem to understand that OJ was found not guilty be a jury of his peers. The other verdict was not one of guilt but one of probability based on much less stringent rules of evidence and provided by a jury inflamed by the fact that the prosecutors just did not prove their case. Happens all the time, get over it.
As for Fred Goldman and his diatribes againt OJ, for someone who is not interested in the money, as he claims, he is sure doing alot of screaming about not being paid.
Fox's decision to cancel the show and the book, it just proof that if enough people complain about anything, then somebody wil do something. If Fox continued with its plan, for those of you who wished, you could have watched something else on another channel, or you could buy another book. Complaining only makes you sound like whiners you cannot get over the fact that OJ was proven innocent in a court of law, in your vaunted legal system that acquitted two cops of beating Rodney King, although there was taped evidence that they committed the offence of which they were accused.
OJ has gotten on with his life and the rest of you should get on with yours

90. White people have been killing the innocent for centuries and since OJ thinks he's white, he' sjust behaving like "HIS" people. Oh, if only they could teach us to read.
