Blacks and Indians came to own, and abuse, whites in Virginia in such large numbers that in 1670 the House of Burgesses (legislature) proclaimed that " . . . noe negro or Indian though baptyised and enjoyned their own ffreedome shall be capable of any purchase of christians, but yet not debarred from buying any of their own nation." [Original spelling.] "Christian" was a euphemism of the period for Caucasian. Virginia's Slave Code of 1705 provided: "That no negroes, mulattos, Indians, although christians, ore Jew, Moore, Mahometans, or other infidels, shall at any time, purchase any Christian, nor any other, except of their own complexion, or such as are declared slaves by this act.""[73]

This aspect of slave history seems to have slipped by the media and academia without being noticed.

7522. WOW!.... I know Black Americans Poke fun at whites on stage, but never have i heard of us (yes im a 21 yr old black male) talking about anything that whites have went threw in the past. Maybe whites attitudes to things or how whites are in bed but thats it . If there was anything for blacks to that hurt a white individuals grand father or great grandfather or grandmother ect. a black comedian would'nt touch that. Thats messed up and it didnt get on the news, but 10 kids in LONGBEACH jump two white females for calling them niggers and telling to get out there nieghborhood on holloween gets the news wuts good. History repeats it self to bad my people (Black American) dont care to pay attention to wuts about to happen.

7524. Maybe Michael Richards is a racist...but this video does not prove it. When you are unbelievably angry or irritated, you will look for that one thing that will hurt your antagonist the most. The men were black, so Richards reached for the N-word, which he KNEW would have the desired effect. If the hecklers were overweight, he would have launched a tirade on their fatness...if they looked "simple" , he would have called them rednecks, etc. They do not accept confessions or criminals that are made under duress. Richards did not use the N-word after one or two comments. He lost it ~ he should have been a professional and not have said it ~ but it was for effect, and it obviously achieved that effect. Whether he is a racist is another matter entirely. This video does not confirm his racism one iota. Sorry.

7528. AGAIN, Misrepresentation, distortion and outright lies are what black racists are all about. I'd like to see where it says that those white women who were viciaously attacked by about 40 black kids, said anything at all. Black racists don't care about the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. As for what black racists went through in the past, is no worse than what white,red, brown or yellow went through. And if you remember the black whine about the white man stole us from our home. They didn't, but that should give black racists an idea of how things will turn out if they carry out their threats of a race war. They are outnumbered 10 to 1. And blacks have never conquered anybody. And historically, blacks have been the big loosers in war. Those kids were just being what they were taught to be. (guess what that is). Give up the racial whine and try 'EARNING' some respect. I know a black racist can't do it, but we have to encourage them anyway. And all of this over a silly word. I guess black racists don't like being called what they act like. And, by the way, I DID see Richard Prior do almost exactly the same act. With different wording such as HONKY. Check your facts before you say anything and no one can refute you. One should hope that history does not repeat itself, lest one find oneself incarcerated just as one's ancestors were. Break the law, pay the price.

7530. 7,800 posts. Congratulations to all who contributed to this blog, making it the longest running and largest blog I've been on. We have established many truths on this blog. We've shown that: Blacks weren't the only slaves. Whites were too. Whites weren't the only slaveowners, blacks owned slaves too. Slaves weren't tortured and murdered as a rule, except mebybe by some BLACK slave owners. We have learned that whites generally did NOT go into Africa and forcibly take slaves as a rule. They BOUGHT them from the indiginous black tribes in africa at the time. We've also learned that slaves COULD gain their freedom until a BLACK slave owner got the laws changed, making blacks, slaves for life. We've learned that black slaveowners treated their white slaves so badly that a law had to be passed forbidding black slave owners to own whites. But they could still own blacks. We have learned that Lincoln freed the slaves in the south where he had NO authority, BUT did NOT free the slaves in the north where he DID have authority. There are many other things we have learned as well, but that's for another time. We have also come to the logical conclusion that, based on the things we have learned on this blog, Michael Richards is no more guilty of racism than anyone else. THE MAN JUST SIMPLY ISN'T AT FAULT!
