Ripa Rips Aiken a New One: Don't Hush Me, Dork!

Snippy Clay Aiken co-hosted Friday's "Live With Regis and Kelly," and Miss Ripa was clearly unhappy with the moptop Idol contestant's attitude. The road got rocky when they played a clip of Kelly impersonating Aiken on Halloween a few years ago ... from there on, Clay got into the mud.

Ripa claims that Aiken was hostile toward her and feels that he wasn't "respectful in any way." Tensions ran high throughout the taping, but Clay pissed off the talk diva when he put his hands over her mouth to try to keep her from talking while interviewing "Dancing With The Stars" winners Cheryl Burke and Emmit Smith.

Ms. Ripa was not amused, and let Clay know that he had crossed a line by touching her million-dollar cakehole. "Oh that's a no-no... I don't know where your hands have been." She has a point.

Regis was shocked by the idea of Kelly and Clay not hitting it off: "In my wildest dreams would I ever think that one day you would have a feud with Clay Aiken."

"Live" wasn't the only show where Mr. Aiken made an appearance. Clay guested on "The Tyra Banks Show," set to air this Wednesday. Again, there was some face caressing -- but on this occasion it was welcomed.

31. You people don't know me...shut the fvck up. I didn't know where his hands have been, but I gotta good guess where. Faggot Clay, but he sings reallllll good. LOL. It's all good. You people need to get a friggin' life...losers.

32. I saw the first two minutes and had to turn it off. Clay Aiken is clearly a very awkward guy, total dork and has no business being on unscripted or loosely scripted TV unless it involves singing.

33. yeah... we're all jealous of ripa. We too wish we could be irritating, and vacuous and comment on important social issues we have no clue about. LOL!!
She makes Elizabeth Hasselback look informed!

34. Kelly Ripa can't be serious! Clay Aiken may be many things, however "Rude" and/or "Disrespectful" are NOT one of them. Kelly was rude to Clay by not letting him ask a question to the guests, and she's disrespected and parodyed Clay in the past many times. So, okay, she can't take a joke, which is obviously all that was meant when Clay put his hand over her mouth in an attempt to shut her babbling up so he, the guest host, could get a word in edge-wise. Kelly showed no class whatsoever by making this such a big deal in the opening of today's show. I for one am extremely disappointed in her vindictive and petty tirade. Good for Clay for letting her know that she wasn't the only one that had something to say. I'm sure Regis has wanted to do the very same thing many times, in fact, he said as much on today's show while attempting to defend Clay.

35. Clay had it coming to him. He was very rude to Kelly from the start. It was very uncomfortable to watch him put her down over and over again. It was not funny. So, he deserves what he gets. He was rude, divaesque and ridiculous. He should stick to singing which he does well. As for hosting, forget it. He was a trainwreck.
Kelly handled it well until he put his hand on her mouth and if you saw the show today, you would notice that she was on the verge of tears when she was telling the story to Regis.
Clay embarrassed her and he is a jerk!

37. Yay! Someone finally found a way to stop her incessant chattering over everyone. Good for you Clay. Talk about rude.......Emmitt was the winner, Kelly. Too bad you were not only rude to Clay, but Emmitt and his partner, too.

38. I'm sure Clay Akin did what Millions of us would like to do to Ripa, shut her up. She thinks so highly of herself that she constantly interupts other people in mid sentance to enterject a story about herself to bring the attention back to her. I think she should follow Kathy Lee into oblivion.

40. I love Kelly Ripa and to my knowledge she has never publically expressed her disdain for anyone. Clay Aiken must be a real a-hole for her to say what she did today. His new cd has bombed, he's a complete closet case and he'll never be on Regis and Kelly again which is too bad for him because most likely all five of his fans watch the show.

43. If anyone was rude and disrespectful it was Kelly Ripa. Her cutsy self-centered conversation is getting "old". On Friday's show she also disprespected the Dancing with the Stars winners in favor of her own favorites.
If Ms. Ripa was a professional she could and would have dealt with her "issues" in private.
Ms. Ripa frequently "dishes" it out ... but she apparently can't take a little humor.
I used to think she was "cute" and "funny" ... but she more often seems "rude", "self-centered" and "obnoxious".
Ms. Ripa needs to get a sense of humor and some "heart".

45. It really isn't that big of a deal!!!!!!! I read the other blogs on here and I am just saddened by the hatred and anger that comes out of people over something so ridiculous as this.. Granted it may or may not have been improper for Clay Aiken to handle it the way he did...but that is what gets the ratings up there and gains him more publicity..I don't know either one of them personally to pass the judgement of hate..I think the people entering profanity as a blog maybe have more to think about then Mr. Aiken or Ms. Ripa..
