17. Hey what about the Senator Byrd?-Democrat ? he was a former klan grand wizard or dragon or whatever it was, and has been a senator for 40? 50? years?

not only a klan leader, he STILL says nigger! and means it in a racist way!

is he a democrat? yes. then its okay, its not big deal. Senator Trent Lott is at a birthday party for another senator who said, 65 years ago, that segregation seemed okay. racist!! racist!! he has to be put into prison, Trent Lott must be impeached or resign! remember that?

19. When someone is really angry at someone what do they do? They say something that will really hurt them!! I once told my own mother that she was a "stupid b*tch and that I hated her". Did I mean it. No! Did I believe it? No! But I said it to hurt her. So I apologized when I calmed down. I would like to be optimistic here and believe he's not a racist. He was angry and made a mistake. Everyone says things in anger they don't really mean or believe. And if anyone out there says they've never said something that was inappropiate or something that they regret is lying!!

Maybe he can get together with Trent Lott, (who thinks the country would be better off if we'd elected a segregationist to the presidency in '48.) and they can sit on Trent's porch, and reminence about the good old days when lynching uppity negras was still a hoot. The man is a racist, pure and simple. No apology changes what he is. Only an action based plan on his part to change his thoughts and feelings will really make a difference to the rest of us.

I feel for RIchards , I do think he is very sorry for ( what we all suffer from) a moment of frustration and lashing out. perhaps he was having a bad day prior to this event. we have all done it . does it excuse the episode? no. but we are all guiilty of an uncontrolled outburst. or tantrum if you will. doesn't matter what color or race we are, none of us are perfect. I pray for him (and us all) . I hope this is not a career ender for him as he is a talented man. let us not judge a lifetime from on very bad moment.

23. This guy doesnt make me mad and im black. What makes me mad is reading all the comments I have read on this board about the topic. It will open your eyes up to what people really feel. If people believe there are no more racial tentions they really need to read this site. It is so evident and can be a shock to your system. My advice, this race war will never stop . Everyone just needs to concentrat on themselves and being good people, and taking care of their families. And stay away away from negative images of any race. We are all just people and hanging around negative persons of any race is a dangerous thing.

24. Richards was only saying what we all think. Unfortunately, racism has done a 180 and whites are not supposed to say ANYTHING about blacks. Too bad! You talk about us in your acts ALL the time. And not just in comedy. Come to DC and listen to the predominantly black radio morning shows. It's ridiculous. The white. race is becoming the minority in America, we need to get together and stick up for ourselves instead of just complying to make them happy. At least we know not to talk during a live performance or movie, it's disrespectful. Where were their manners? They should have been removed the minute they started the heckling!! But that would have been racist too.

25. apparently not many black people have commented on this. i've seen some outrageous comments. everything for saying "everybody" lashes out like this, to comparing this dude to Martin Luther King. HOW SICK and disrespectful is that?...this dude referenced how black people were treated 50 years ago and made light of the struggle that many people died over...i dont know if he's a racist, but he is a sick twisted person. it's really sad because i used to be a fan.

The fact that so many white people are saying Richards is not racist shows how TRULY racist america is...his commentary was rooted in deep racist feelings....I use to enjoy his performances on Seinfield but the true crime here is that people here are actually condoning his hate-fill speech....a true comedian would have made fun of the heckles...no style at all...

28. I can't believe some of the responses on this blog. What if his rage was aimed at someone that was jewish. I'm sure there would be an outcry. Since it was about blacks no one really gives a shit. ....and we wonder why other countries hate americans...white americans.
