Rosie Rips Kelly for "Homophobic" Remark

Rosie O'Donnell started a bitchfight with fellow morning-diva Kelly Ripa when she accused Ripa of making a "homophobic" remark.

The fracas started on "The View" when O'Donnell said that Ripa was "homophobic" for her scolding of Aiken when he co-hosted her show the other day and playfully put his hand over her mouth, prompting Ripa to snap, "I don't know where that hand has been." Rosie suggested that if Aiken had been a "straight guy, a cute guy" or, for instance, Mario Lopez, Ripa wouldn't have made the same remark. (Aiken, of course, has never said anything publicly about his sexuality.)

Ripa was incensed enough to call into the show immediately, firing back that Rosie's accusation was "outrageous" and "irresponsible" and that Ripa made the remark last Friday because it was "cold and flu season" and that Aiken had shaken the hands of the studio audience. Rosie wasn't buying it, and in acknowledging that she admires Ripa, said that "from where I sit" as an openly gay woman, Ripa's response was homophobic.

Kelly, for her part, continued to pile on Aiken as well, saying that his behavior on last week's episode was "disrespectful," including the fact that he never thanked her for the opportunity to co-host. Kelly and the ladies agreed on one thing: guest host Sherri Shepherd's assertion that Clay probably wouldn't have muzzled Regis like he did Kelly.

61. I like both of these woman, but Rosie is so out of line here.
I saw that show w/ Clay and he was totally out of line putting that dirty hand over Kelly's mouth. ROSIE LIGHTEN UP. Not everything has to do w/ something gay

62. When Regis is not on the show, it is Kelly's show. Clay is an up and comer, but even if somebody better was on the show, they should know not to disrespect somebody like that. It is not like he is her bff.
How would Rosie feel if somebody came up and did that? Telling Oprah to have handled Tom's outburts in a better way, Telling Kelly is Homophobic..has Rosie been secretly given the responsibility to handle people who are seemingly in the closet?!

63. Good God Rosie, Did you just out Clay? You did more harm than either Clay or Kelly.

64. Rosie is so off base here. She shouldn't fight other peoples battles just to get attention for herself, Kelly is trying to entertain people and that was a harmless comment taken either way. I agree it probably was not intended to hurt Clay. Rosie is just jealous that Kelly is thin, blonde and beautiful. She just wants a piece of Kelly's spotlight obiviously any way she can get it.

65. Rosie has to stick her big mouth into everything, like the Oprah and Gail thing on the view. I think Rosie needs to shut up and go home and stay.

66. Rosie has turned the View into her own personal show. We all know she's gay so shut up already. We don't have to keep hearing about her and "wife" I didn't take Kellys remark as homophobic and I'm glad she ripped into Rosie. If you really want cuckoo, whats a grown woman doing taking off work to fly all over the U.S. to see Barbra and spend half the show adoring her like she's some kind of God? Now that's scarey.

67. Rosie went too far today. She is so damn dumb sometimes. Opens her mouth before she thinks. She does not represent all lesbians, that's for sure. As a gay woman, I can tell you that she crossed over into nutso land today with the comments for Kelly Ripa. Kelly Ripa is probably not a homophobe. I think Rosie gets bonus $$$$$$ to say controversial things.

68. I am SO UPSET. I love Rosie,Kelly and Clay, but Rosie went TOO FAR.
Turning an obvious "yuck" moment into a homophobic contriversy is OUTRAGIOUS. I feel so bad for Kelly. I hope this situation can be resolved quickly , for everyone's sake.

69. I love both kelly and Rosie. I find both arguments to be right. KElyl would have minded if her favorite boxer did that, clack could have chocked his chicken before the show though, To each his own.

70. Get a life Rosie. If you weren't on the View, you would be just another fat old Lezbo hasbeen. I'm sure Clay is happy that you outed him. Do us all a favor and shut your fat piehole.

71. We all have opinions, whether your a "superstar" or not... I do agree with Rosie and we have to remember there are alot of hypocrites in the world we live in. Hopefully Kelly and Clay have learned from all this and can move on doing what they do for a living... entertaining! Happy Thanksgiving!

72. i love rosie and kelly, but i think rosie was wrong today. It was disrespectful to put his hand over her mouth. Her comment was true, who knows where his hands were. It has nothing to do with if hes gay or straight.

74. I dont blame Kelly at all. First, you dont put your hand on someone's mouth. Second, yeah it's true, it could be dirty, germs. Rosie for once should shut her FAT, UGLY MOUTH.

ROSIE JUST BECAUSE YOUR GAY NOT EVERYBODY IS. THE THOUGHT OF A STRANGER PUTTING THEIR HAND WHICH COULD OF BEEN ON A DICK IS DISGUSTING. FUCK YOU ROSIE!!

GO KELLY!! SHE'S A MOTHER, SHE DOESNT NEED CLAY'S GERMS AT HOME!

75. Wasn't it Rosie who was just blasing TMZ for 'outing' gays? As Clay has never openly admitted that he is gay, didn't she just 'out' him? Seems a bit hypocritical to me.
