Britney -- The Plot Thickens

She played it cool on stage, but Britney Spears was "pissed" at ABC over a derogatory sketch aimed at her estranged husband, Kevin Federline, during last night's "American Music Awards," a Britney rep tells TMZ.

E!'s Marc Malkin first reported Brit was upset, and now a rep for Brit tells TMZ, "She had no idea" that the skit would immediately precede her appearance. We're told Britney was "incredibly upset" and "inconsolable."

The sketch featured AMA host Jimmy Kimmel sealing a Federline look-a-like in a wooden crate and shipping him out to sea. Kimmel called K-Fed,"the world's first ever no-hit wonder." Less than five minutes later, Kimmel introduced Spears as a surprise presenter.

When contacted, a rep confirms to TMZ the idea for the skit was Kimmel's and he went forward with it because, "I knew they wouldn't mind because I know they both have great senses of humor."

16. Britney should be grateful they didn't do it while they were together. The only reason the music community held back from insulting him while they were together was out of respect for her.

I think it should be open season on Fed-ex.

18. I THINK IT WAS EXTREMELY INSENSITIVE. KIMMEL SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER, ESECIALLY WITH BRITNEY AT THE AWARDS SHOW.

YOU KNOW, PEOPLE NEED TO BE A LITTLE MORE CONSIDERATE OF CELEB'S GOING THROUGH HARD TIMES. HOW WOULD YOU ALL FEEL IF IT WAS YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONE.

19. I was wondering why she still had her wedding ring on..maybe she wants to get back with Federjerk..alto if she didn't know about the skit, then it was tacky..she should have been asked if it was okay.

21. Well, excuse me all over the place.... She should rather be upset with the public humiliation her husband bestowed on her for all to see. He dumped her and just right after her having a baby ---- this is waaaaay worse than anything Kimmel could joke about. She's not a bright bulb to begin with and if she's going to become idignant with the jokes, she shouldn't venture out in public at a time that that the media keeps inundating us with her trailer trash life and her own ignorant self. For me, she's the BIGGER joke than he is and she just doesn't get it.

25. Honestly everyone, welcome to showbiz. First off she has never looked better since she lost 200 pounds of useless husband and second good idea on the split. She had to get rid of him, she finally realized her kids couldn't grow up in a household with NO - TALENT.

It all makes for good tv!!

26. #15 I understand your point. However, what Brit and K-Fed do and their trailer trash ways are between them...having this skit on an awards show, in my opinion is in bad taste. Half of what you read, you can't believe. This is a public divorce, and maybe some of this is up for public scrutiny, however, they are human beings with feelings. I know they are public figures, but still...this kind of stuff hurts feelings, and sadly or not, I just think it is mean.

It's not like it's an OJ situation...that is appropriate...this stuff with Brit is not.

27. Didn't the same thing happen last year with Nick and Jessica? Some comment was made about the fact that Nick wasn't in attendance because they didn't need seat fillers and then zoomed in on Jessica Simpson, who didn't like all that upset! I think that the whole thing is rediculous, say what you want about both of them, but they do have children together. this isn't a soap opera!!

28. THANK YOU #5, ITS ALL REALLY SAD, THEY HAVE USED THIS POOR GUY AS A PUNCHING BAG TOO LONG, THE PUBLIC IS MOSTLY TO BLAME FOR THEM SPLITTING ANYWAY. IT HAS TO BE REALLY HURTFUL FOR SOMEONE TO SAY THESE HORRIBLE THINGS ABOUT YOUR CHILDRENS FATHER( TRUE OR NOT)! I HOPE THEY GET BACK TOGETHER ACTUALLY, FOR THEMSELVES, AND FOR THE KIDS. 29. I think that everyone who is bashing Britney is ridiculous. She was with k-fed because and one point she loved him. And she is not white trash its called being comfortable, just because she doesnt act like the "typical" hollywood glamour and glitz doesn't make her white trash its makes her normal. And as far as the skit goes it was funny if she didnt know aout it then I can see how she got so upset theres no nose up in the air there. Wouldn't you be upset? I bet you would.

30. At first, it seemed much like a coherence between her and the show. However, after the "school of fish getting pregnant", it made you think how really stupid Britney was portrayed to be. You can only wish it maynot've been a part Britney participated in. The host of AMA had no brains. He was just as bad as "Kramer". Blurting stupidy for cheap entertainment.
