Danny DeVito -- Hammered on "The View"?

Danny DeVito says he and George Clooney had a long night out last night -- and by the look of things on "The View" this morning, it caught up with him.

DeVito, appearing as a guest on the show to plug his latest comedy, "Deck the Halls," told the View gals that he might not have gotten to sleep just yet ... before the 10 AM taping.

Then, cursing his seventh limoncello (a lemon liqueur) from the night before, DeVito went on an extended, Three Stooges-esque rant against President Bush, much of which was bleeped out by network censors. He also talked about making full use of the Lincoln Bedroom in the White House when he and wife Rhea Perlman stayed there.

Joy and Rosie laughed at DeVito's antics. Elisabeth seemed tolerably amused, despite the political slant. Barbara, however, was very much not so, glaring icily at the "limonized" DeVito.

DeVito's rep Stan Rosenfield tells TMZ that his client had asked for Barbara Walters' phone number today, and that he would say "what needed to be said privately" to her. Rosenfield also confirmed that DeVito and Clooney were out last night together, and that "they had a good time."

106. Now thats it been a few days since the incident and more time has passed to see what might happen cant help but note these observations:

*at least Richards had the guts to go public,;Letterman,Jesse, Sharpton and a sit down apology with those directly offended----------not a word from Da Vino except a supposed missed apology call to Barbara Walters....what about your viewing public Sir? Many of us, even if only half, were offended

*there is a defintive split reaction to all of this---Keith Olberman leftist view of "leave him alone" to Bill O'Reilly's traditional view of "this is an outrage"

*Deck the Halls movie was 4th place last weekend and is not gaining ground so far this week

*George Clooney makes comments that only add to Da Vino image of being a hard partier but not quite as hard as George

Conclusion: Half believe it was an ok exhibition...to those I say , see his movie...the other half, me included believe his shtick was disgraceful and unprofessional at best.

Final Conclusion: There is help for such unfortuantes and when sought can rebuild career, reputation and even ones views on things like Country and Self

107. What amazes me is the fact that you will 'boycott' a man for getting drunk and telling people what he thought.

What world DO you live in? Because its not reality.

The reason for your weird and strange behaviour is because you make 'stars' out to be something wonderful. They are human beings you simplistic moron. They drink, swear, fight, etc. etc. etc. just like the rest of us, stop looking up to the television for role models...

Understand: Human being. Ok? Okay... on the same page here.

He goes out, has a drink, has a few, has a whole truck-load... its NONE of your business. How Danny D drinks and what Danny D says doesn't affect if you would like the movie or not...

Those types of people that decide 'Well since he acts that way... IM NOT SEEING HIS MOVIE' make me want to locate the nearest flag pole and impale them with it.

Why don't you:
A: Grow up.
B: Learn how reality is. (not your jaded version where butterflys fall from the heavens and lavish us with rainbow kisses)
C: Stop watching television

108. Entertainers are paid to do their job. Lately they seem to think they are invincible and can say or do anything they want whether it's politics, the war or homosexuality and everyone is supposed to accept it. Now with all the employment laws in place regarding Race, Relegion, Politics, Personal Opinion, etc.

Imagine the next time you show up at your Job and voice your opinion about any of these same hot topics and being drunk to boot. What do you think the results will be for you? Fired, Disciplined, Punched Out by Co-Worker, Company Sued?

Why do we have a double standard when it comes to professions? We made these stars by supporting their work made them rich on the backs of common American people looking for some diversionary relief from everyday work and this is how we get rewarded for putting them on a pedestal?
(Irony is that a lot these so called protective employment laws were put in place by liberal politicians).

How soon they forget, without a paying audience it does not matter how brilliant they have become in their own mind. Stop supporting certain entertainers and watch them crumble.
I'm not a crybaby or whiner, I've personally said and done things that are nothing in comparison to what these lightweights think they are accomplishing. (And am not proud of it)

Entertainers, Television programs are just like politicians, when enough is enough, stop your support of them.

What if they played a Movie and nobody came?

109. Thanks to the View I now have my mornings back. I used to be a faithful viewer enjoying Merrideth, even tolorated Joy. Now the only one that makes it worth watching is Elizabeth, but I do have more important things to do. I have a free hour now....after watching the show with Danny DeVito, I know for sure, my free time is more valuable. Or, maybe I'll watch cartoons. It's good that Rosie gives away her free gifts, it would be sad if no one showed up in the audience.

113. I watched the View and saw nothing funny about a drunk being on. I normally like M. DiVito but he made a fool out of himself. He went on there to promote his movie but instead he disrepected and demeaned the President. Whether your like him (President ) or not that was irrisponsible. They should have pulled him off. The next day the View said they wanted to make it clear that Mr. DiVito was not an alcholic but he was just drunk. I guess there all specialist now. I just didn't find him funny. In a time of war I don't think it 's necessary. How lucky for mr. D'Vito that we have Freedom Of Speech. If he were in another country he would have been jailed. Freedom Of Speach is a wonderful thing. But it can get you into a lot of trouble if your not careful. These Actors have just made proof of that in the last couple of months. Don't Hate me! Just my opinion!

118. Barbara needs to take back control - choosing Rosie to replace Meredith (and boy do I miss her!) was a HUGE mistake! Rosie just encourages the outrageous. I'm so sick and tired of comedians/comediennes taking advantage of their "limelight" to preach their politics and do nothing but bash this administration. And once again we had to hear from Danny DeVito. Why can't they just make jokes and not bash? Jay Leno does an excellent job of this. DeVito really showed his colors - drunk and all.

119. Barbara Walters is such a stuck up what a bee, tuck and roll job, greater then the 60's in tejuna , Mexico. They meaning ABC and the existing members of The View, need to eliminate Walters from the show and tell the truth that she was eliminated for her Bush mentality. Devito was good and straight forward regarding his time at the White House. So let me say, so what to Barbara Walters!

So, go,go, go 60 minutes Walters go away.
