Danny DeVito -- Hammered on "The View"?

Danny DeVito says he and George Clooney had a long night out last night -- and by the look of things on "The View" this morning, it caught up with him.

DeVito, appearing as a guest on the show to plug his latest comedy, "Deck the Halls," told the View gals that he might not have gotten to sleep just yet ... before the 10 AM taping.

Then, cursing his seventh limoncello (a lemon liqueur) from the night before, DeVito went on an extended, Three Stooges-esque rant against President Bush, much of which was bleeped out by network censors. He also talked about making full use of the Lincoln Bedroom in the White House when he and wife Rhea Perlman stayed there.

Joy and Rosie laughed at DeVito's antics. Elisabeth seemed tolerably amused, despite the political slant. Barbara, however, was very much not so, glaring icily at the "limonized" DeVito.

DeVito's rep Stan Rosenfield tells TMZ that his client had asked for Barbara Walters' phone number today, and that he would say "what needed to be said privately" to her. Rosenfield also confirmed that DeVito and Clooney were out last night together, and that "they had a good time."

121. This is a good example of the "Hollywood types" shows just how ignorant they really are.no manners, no morals and no brains.....doesn't matter if they are drunk or sober! Certainly won't be attending any movies that this moron appears in...

122. I saw the show that day, just thought Danny Devito was being his usual funny self....and so what if he was still high from the previous night? Wasn't like he was falling off the chair....jeez
By the way...Devito doesn't need the paltry pay he gets for appearing on The View to pay his bills, he has so much more going on in his life than making personal appearances. Let's also remember, his is a Hollywood marriage that has stood the test of it for...how many years? C'mon y'all...make sure your bed is clean before trashing someone else's

124. The world around us is in chaos and some of you, including Barbara Walters, are upset about an actor who had too much to drink!!! His remarks on television did not insult anyone's ethnicity or religion. His views on Geo. Bush is not news......many if us share those views. So he had a few too many drinks.......who really cares? As I recall, we still have something in this country called "freedom of speech" and he is entitled to that freedom just as he's entitled to have an entertaining evening out without everyone getting bent out of shape! C'mon guys, GET A LIFE!!!!!!

126. Devito is truly funny and a good actor. But as most actors, is confused in his thinking by believing he is an expert about something, and thkat people actually care what he has to say or thinks about anything..

127. He's a celebrity and knew he had an appearance the next mornin. I'm all for the occasional night out with friends. I just choose to do it on a night I have time to sleep it off. He had every right to state his opinion about Bush. Some of the words he used to do so were totally inappropriate for a daytime show. I have always thought of DeVito as a good person. Regretfully, this has changed my view of him...not for the better.

130. Devito is a typical hollywood loser. and an ugly little fat one at that. His rant against Bush was typical coming from an unhinged, idiotic liberal screwball that is destroying America.
America would be better off if Devito and his buddies, Sean Penn, Michael Moore and Clooney would remain in bars with bottles of lemonchello strapped to their faces. This will save us all from having to listen to their self righeteous, idiotic and warped opinions.

132. Incidents like Danny DeVito's commentary are what bring the view to life! Since
Rosie has joined, something wild and exciting has happened every day. Meredith
was smart and beautiful, but Rosie represents a part of our culture that deserves
one of those four seats. I may have disagreed with her analysis of the Kelly Ripa/
Clay Aiken fiasco, but look at the wonderful gossip and controversy it created. I like when the other women talk about Rosie's lifestyle and her partner, Kelly. It's
informative about how other people live day to day.. I, personally, have never seen Rosie "out" anyone. I think the viewers are just paranoid because she's talking openly about homosexuality. Thanks Barbara for adding Rosie to your table. Now I enjoy thedifferents points of view of Elizabeth and Joy as well. Since the changes, I watchevery morning, and suspect that the complainers are doing the same. Great show!

134. I am shocked at Devito's actions on The View. It is a morning show and there are many children that are sitting with their mothers watching. I am stunned the producers allowed him on the show knowing what bad shape he was in.

Nothing he said was funny, and he is a disgrace. Too bad others get arrested for having a drink, but not only does he go free, he is allowed to blast that filthy mouth of his saying anything he wanted and was praised by the stiff broads on the show by his antics.

He had never been worth anything and never will. One show in his career, and a few films, that were carried by other famous actors. He will not get a dime from me. I will find another movie to see. He needs rehab BAD!
