33. I think that MOM needs to be managing her kids behavior instead of our there promoting them at this time in their life. They need a role model and they need boundaries. Maybe those words aren't in her vocabulary.

36. What kind of a mother says that it's okay for a 20-year-old to drink because she can't tell her not to go out? Dina should have set up some boundaries for her daughter so that she could learn to go out and have a good time WITHOUT DRINKING!

And she should've found a better way to talk about her daugher's trips to AA without making it sound like she's only doing it because it's trendy.

37. C'mon. Drew "Little Girl Lost" Barrymore was an alcoholic/addict way younger. Nobody is carding Lindsay Lohan when she goes to clubs, which she does A LOT. I just wonder if she's actually trying to stop drinking or if she's just going to AA because her friends go. I hope she gets herself together like Drew did and doesn't let a promising career go completely to hell.

Many times its in the genes...and a person picks up on an addiction easier than someone that doesn't have it in their genes..and some might end up with an addictive personality..

43. kudos to Lindsay & her Mom. The Mom probably would not have said anything if it were not ok with Lindsay.. Lots of people I know in AA talk about it in public NOT anonymously. Good luck to LIndsay. Maybe she'll learn some tools. Love to her & her friends.

45. It's called Alcoholics ANONYMOUS for a reason! People need to be able to go there and have the privacy to be in recovery.
And, yes, there are many 20 year olds in AA these days, it's better than waiting until you are 35 and have spread wreckage throughout your family and community, DUI's, broken hearts, messed up children. I think it is great she made it there at 20. I've met 16 year olds at meetings and they have a chance to be sober and have a life again.
