George Clooney's 300-pound potbellied pig, Max, died last Friday.Barbra Walters, George Clooney and his pet pig
Clooney once said that his longest relationship ever was with Max, his personal porker. The oinker had serious healthGeorge Clooney gallery: Click to launch problems -- he had arthritis and was partially blind. In 2001, Max was accidentally hit by a car driven by one of Clooney's friends.

Clooney has had the squealer for 18 years. He got porcine custody after his breakup with Kelly Preston. Tough year for Clooney; his bulldog also died earlier this year.

16. Pets are far more loyal than any human and the term unconditional love is truely reserved only for animals. My heart goes out to anyone losing a pet.

19. Loss of a companion animal can be as traumatic as that of any family member. But I wonder: does George Clooney eat meat? If so, it's just another instance of our culturally schizoid view of and approach to animals.

20. How awful....losing a beloved pet is such a hard thing to go through, and to lose two in one year? Everything is so different and lonely after a pet dies, especially when you've had one for years and years. I feel for anyone who loses a pet. I don't think its possible to get over the loss you just learn to live with it and its awful.

29. RIP Max. Sounds like he had a long and happy life (except for the car incident - I would KILL one of my friends if they hit my pet!). Animals are the best - people suck. Condolences George. Peace out, Max.
