George Clooney's 300-pound potbellied pig, Max, died last Friday.
Clooney once said that his longest relationship ever was with Max, his personal porker. The oinker had serious health
problems -- he had arthritis and was partially blind. In 2001, Max was accidentally hit by a car driven by one of Clooney's friends.
Clooney has had the squealer for 18 years. He got porcine custody after his breakup with Kelly Preston. Tough year for Clooney; his bulldog also died earlier this year.

If he wants a new pig, I hear recently Brittney's available.
Poor Georgie! My condolences. Pets are so much better than people, and harder to lose. RIP!

Dear George, I am very sorry for your loss. If it helps, you really are the sexiest man alive :)
I'm so sad for George Clooney! I have raised potbelly pigs and know how attached you can become to them. Max was very blessed to have a human who loved him so much. RIP Max, and godspeed.
According to some websites I was reading, 18 is extremely old for a potbelly pig, which, according to some sources, is said to have an average lifespan of 12-15 years. Condolences on your loss, Mr. Clooney, but kudos on taking such good care of your pet so that it reached such an old age!
My heartfelt condolences Mr. Clooney.
I know how difficult it is to lose a member of the family - no matter what their species.
Some of the most painful experiences I've had in life have been caused by the loss of my non-human friends.
My heart goes out to Clooney. My cat died six weeks ago, afer eighteen years of love and friendship. The people who wrote that it's a terrible thing to go through ,and that only pet lovers would understand are 100% right. Lulu was my surrogate baby and a fabulous cat and I'll miss her always.
Maybe he'll do the right thing and ADOPT a needy pet at a place like Petfinder.com instead of buying a crappy puppy mill puppy at a pet store or from a website like some other celebs
I would like to express my deepest condolences to George on the loss of his most beloved pig. I am sure that Max was the best relationship he ever had and it is amazing to believe George had him for 18 years. My heart goes out to you, George!! RIP, Max!! I'm sure your life won't be the same without Max.
George Clooney had a companion animal dog and pig AND (I just recently learned) he drives an electric car (the Tango). This is what makes a man âthe sexiest man aliveâ: extending compassion to all beings (not just dogs and cats but also the ones most people eat, like Max) and being environmentally aware. Rest in peace Max, and George, may your heart heal from the loss of your dear non-human animal friends. They were truly blessed to be loved and cared for by you. Oh â one more thing, if you don't already know: pigs are known to be smarter than dogs. You can train a pig to do all the same things a dog can do, and more. They even can learn how to play video games. Thanks George, for opening eyes and hearts.
I HAVE A 12 YEAR OLD PIG, AND I TOO LOST A COUPLE MEN FROM IT! HA HA!
I ALWAYS COULD UNDERSTAND CLOONEY, AND HIS PORK FRIEND! :) SAME ISSUES, SAME STORY!
MINE IS ALSO BLIND, WITH ARTHRITIS, BUT HES STILL KICKIN!!...AND BITING!
GOD BLESS CLOONEY!
Hi George,
It's me again, Quincy.
I forgot to ask whether there was an internment ceremony or a cremation for Max and also, would you be able to give me a reference for the job with Mr. Bob Woodward since I may be working in our nation's capitol?
Your friend,
QUINCY
My Dearest Pig Loving George,
I am very sorry to hear of your loss as i have 3 potbellied piggies myself that stay in the house and are cleaner than my own teenagers and when something ever happens to them i will feel so left alone, they are by far the smartest and so loving and very grateful pets a human can have. May God hold Max close to his heart until the day you meet again. him and bud are playing and having loads fo fun. so dont worry and be happy that they are in a better place than we are now.
My Love and Prayers go out to you for being such a great dad to Max and Bud. Please concider adopting another Piggy from a rescue as we have many of them in corona and norco and riverside areas. I will personally help you find your new relationship when YOU are ready. i will take some time to learn to live with the pain, i know i lost one of my babies a few years ago and i am still not over it. but time makes it a little easier. but for now give your heart time to heal some before trying to make another relationship. I think pigs are better to sleep with anyways...they pull all the covers off and they like to cuddle :)
much LOVE...Teresa from corona
George, I am so sorry for your loss of Max. You obviously took excellent care of him, and I'm sure he was your bestest buddy. RIP, Max
